Kris has been asked to repair Gunleon and work specifically on the AI Core, which is having issues. Gunleon allegedly only has four charges left, and Marco specifically mentioned that it would either take someone as intelligent as a Tuffle or someone surpassing Tuffle intellect to do the job.

Kris fits the bill perfectly: he's well versed in all fields of science. His knowledge of advanced military tech and studies of the robots from Dragon Island help him with the hardware side, and his hacking tech will allow him to work on the software side too. He's motivated to fix Gunleon since it's the mecha one of his inspirations, Malcolm, created, and one of the paragons of High Hops who had always supported its people has already given her life to power Gunleon further.

Kris' superior intellect and a bit of hard work and elbow grease should put Gunleon back in perfectly working order!
