"They hit us with a cannonball at 500 meters per second. Assessing damage now."

"It... uh... looks like LV-N Number Five has been... er... liberated from the propellant tanks."

"*FIRE ALL OF THE LASERS.* Target the shielding on their tanks."

"Aye."

The heat rays, focused at a distance of under 600 meters, vaporized the wooden ablative heatshield on the Delsip Ship. The propellant tanks, now exposed to space and warped from the heat, were easy targets for the remaining railguns.

The Delsip Ship was no match for the Kerbulan Warship. The railguns hammered into the tank, blasting holes and igniting their contents. The engineering hull was thrown off by the blast, but the main hull with 53 Vernian cosmonauts was torn apart by the hydrogen and oxygen combustion.

The Kerbulan Warship readjusted course for Sudric, and prepared to launch the nuclear missile. It would be the biggest bomb developed my any space nation, far outmatching the yield of the Fat Man bomb dropped on an Earth city by another Earth city. If it worked, the continent of Sodor would be wiped from Sudric's maps.
