- I don't quite understand the process. If I am to 301 it does it do it to a clone of the penalized website? Or do I send it to a brand new and unique content website?
- The penalty passes through the 301
- Was it deindex? There is another theory, If It was not deindexed, Remove it from the index using Google removal tool and reindex it.
- You wanna destroy the other site too?
- It's not deindexed no.
- Penalised and drop many pages in the serps.
- How do you know if you’re hit by a Google penalty?

- How sure is everyone that the penalty follows a 301? Wouldn't that mean I could buy 10 cheap domains, blast them with GSA and then redirect each one to the top 10 results of my competitors?
- I'd like to think Google isn't that reckless. It must be a little more complex that a simple yes it follows.
- Penalty will most probably pass.
- Not always, I've previously tested it for my unnatural links penalty with htacess 301. No penalties bypassed after 2-3 months... Well, no real juice either, just few lower keywords did pick up. I've cut it down and lifted the penalty later. So overall, I wouldn't bother and waste time if I were OP.

- 301 redirect the site to one of your competitors. See what happens and report back
- Listen to all the opinions in here LMAO. If you haven't tested it yourself then you just have an uneducated opinion.
- I've tested it on 5 different URLs and they all gave a different result. If it was the same result with the favour of a penalty passing then you know how many websites I would tank just for the lols? I've also tested building PBN site on penalised spammed site, no penalty passes.... So suck it.
- As you have said the site has been penalized already ( punished by Google) then why do you want to redirect it to your money site? this could grealty affect your new site.
- A double 301 redirect work wonders for me 2 years ago.. Not sure about today, but it's worth a shot.
- The new website on which penalty website will be redirected, will also penalized. As penalty pass on with 301 redirection.

- Just buying a penalised site now, just going to knock amazon off of all the SERPS, hold my beer.

- Although, I sure many are jest speculating without real trials, here is my opinion:
- 301 redirect isn't enough to pass the juice to the new domain. You have to tell google through webmaster tools which means you have to verify both old and new domain
- Google isn't stupid to let anyone use 301 to redirect spammy pages to their competitors.
- @OP: Was it manual penalty? How did you know its a penalty other than ranking drop?
- Try it and you will see. The chance is 80% the 301 will pass the penalty. I tested it many times with many different domains. Sometimes I got the rankings back, but then it took only a few days until the rankings dropped and the website received the penalty as well.
- dont do it as everyone has said it will kill the other site too -- better off finding out why you got the penalty repair the site to remove the penalty
- I think i am going to avoid doing this and just build a nice new site from scratch without 301 the penalized site.
