background: daiyu grew up in beijing, china with her chinese father, korean mother, and an older brother and sister. her parents would constantly be fighting, but wouldn't divorce because they didn't want to ruin their image and lose money (her parents were successful business partners). whenever they fought, daiyu was told by her siblings to to just be quiet and shut up. her parents were very strict about her grades, especially her father, who demeaned daiyu from her siblings. (second part below so it's easier to read)

at school was where she could be herself. she also had a rebellious and creative side, so when she was thirteen, she began her secret life as a nightly grafitti artist known as DAY. when daiyu was fifteen, her mother finally snapped. she began coming home late, and daiyu found out that she abused drugs. still, daiyu kept quiet. but then her mother left without a goodbye not long after, only making her father colder. daiyu couldn't stop thinking of her, and she snapped as well, getting into a heated argument with her father and leaving.

she didn't want to shut up anymore.

personality: she is very outgoing and radiant off the bat, always cracking jokes and being a comic relief (at school, that is). she likes to make people happy with her humor. because of this, she was quite popular and was known to be funny and honest. she always had a rebellious side, but couldn't show it at school or else her parents would be very angry. daiyu also is very creative, passionate about the arts, and a talented artist (much to her parents dismay). but beneath this, she is also extremely sad and depressed, due to her family situation. but the sound of other people laughing just clouds over her sad and dark thoughts. she can be very inpatient and indecisive, terrible at making decisions and they will often come out rash.

destiny: in the end, she unfortunately commits suicide because many of her friends (including love interest) turned against her, and she found out her mother died (maybe?), her sadness became too overbearing

his personality: he can sometimes be alike her in many ways, like being a comic relief/mood maker. he will also very much be a sassy little shit, often joking around and being curious and nosy. he shares a stubborn and clingy side as well. he is seductive towards the ladies, gaining a reputation as a fuckboy/player. however, he will be sweet, honest, and caring when someone needs it.

relationship: they have a love-hate relationship. they both sort of butt heads for being the funny/humorous person, and are often competitive with each other. their relationship tends to go up and down; sometimes sweet, sometimes sour.

how he acts around her: he can be very sarcastic and humorous around her. he will also often try to impress daiyu with his dancing skills. he never fails to be a stubborn one, either. she sees that as very annoying, but tries to consider it as sweet. he dislikes it when she becomes dismissive and salty.

how she acts around him: at first, she was very closed off; she eventually warmed up. still, she fears commitment. daiyu avoids ever bringing up her past with him, but he persists on and on to know more about her, which makes her act rude towards him. she can be very impatient with him, even more than she usually is. (in the good part of the relationship) she loves to have fun and be a rebel by his side.
