Cuts the Chimera's city crushing tail

You strain as you pull upon your power again. Inordinate strength and dexterity flow within your body. You realize that you guide the power with your skill. Instead of pulling from your muscle, it is energy that you must shape into the proper strike. What you have acquired is beyond what most humans can attain, but it is merely just so. The power you feel is no replacement for actual skill with the blade.

Then, you decide, it is good that you have plenty of that.

The armored tail, meant to crush cities and armies, is striking you from above. Its form shifts in your vision. You force yourself to see it as something which causes no fear in your heart.

Instead of a limb of a Beast, you see a downward, overhead strike that you’ve met with your own blade. An utterly massive blade it is, but you’ve caught it with your own… and you find the skill behind the strike is lacking.

You take a step aside, the blade slams before you, and you cut the hands which held the blade.

A gout of blood, thick and viscous, comes upon you as the sword falls. For a moment, you see the tail of the Beast before you instead of a blade, but you reorient yourself quickly. Leaping backward, you take a look at the Beast before you. Carefully, you interpret every blow and assault it could throw upon you.
