  1. The first juvenile Xeno moved into view from around a corner, tail whipping, walking on all fours, head jerking left and right, searching, wanting...
  2.
  3. "Stay here."
  4.
  5. T'U'Sa eased forward, hands at his side. His wristblades were back in their sheaths, but he didn't feel it necessary for him to use them. At least not yet.
  6.
  7. "The thing about the juveniles," he told them, "is that they are all aggression and all need. They have no thoughts of caution or tactics. They come right at you."
  8.
  9. As if on cue, the juvenile Xenomorph saw him and stiffened. Its tail went straight, and then it screamed and shot toward him. It covered the distance between them
  10. faster than one would believe, then leaped.
  11.
  12. "When they leap, they lose all of their ability to react,"
  13.
  14. T'U'Sa said calmly while the Xeno was still airborne. He stepped to the side and grabbed the creature's front legs, helping it to adjust its course until he released it and it slammed into the side of the rift.
  15.
  16. "The same goes for one of you. If you leave your feet, you lose the same ability. Remember this."
  17.
  18. The Xeno hit the wall and spun, coming at him again as if nothing had happened. This time, T'U'Sa deployed the wristblades on his right hand. The Xeno leaped and the hunting captain bent to one knee, slitting the juvenile from stem to stern, yellow blood and acid exploding from the wound. Some fell on T'U'Sa, but he just shook it free, letting the acid splatter and burn through the spare foliage nearest him.
  19.
  20. The Xeno fell like an empty sack of exoskeleton, devoid of anything that made it move, think, or need. Born hours ago, seemingly for the sole purpose of dying. Dead now. Had it known it was nothing more than a teaching tool, it might not have cared, but that's all it was. An experiment. A demonstration, just to be killed.-pg.74-75 chpt.8
