- Humans.
- Human beings, live in Corius, and are mostly indistinguishable from real life humans, physiologically. What is different, is that in this setting, humans contain Dream Force. Generally, it is created spontaneously, as a process of their mental and spiritual growth, although traces of it can be found in the blood, and considerable amounts in the heart as well.
- While a daemon is made of raw dream force, a human channeling something close to their full potential of dream force, without other items or so, can reach up to the level of an average daemon of the Age of Dominions.
- Nevertheless, let us get into these specific "abilities". Humans can't channel a lot of dream force in it's raw form as it is found on their being. And even then this dream force comes in flavors! (With only one of them being truly deserving of the term raw, to be fair). Dream force found in humans, usually is defined by a color! The ones below are some notable variations!
- Golden dream force, is also considered as Raw Dream Force. It is a simple form of the matter, as it had once been. It is believed, this Golden dream force is how dream force originally looked. It is extremely ubiquitous. It is quite dense, but stable. Found almost everywhere.
- Blood red dream force is NOT a good sign. Usually a honey hue, or orange dream force signifies proximity to flame, or heat, which also relates to life force! Purely red dream force, however, means that the golden dream force has lost some component, or is "damaged" somehow. Red dream force does have it's advantages however. It is much easier to expel, even if it is somewhat painful to do so. Unstable.
- Cold Black and Cold White. Cold Dream Force is usually derived from people who suffer from a physical illness, but their dream force is supposed to be fine. People with certain foresight themed abilities, ice powers, abilities themed towards preservation, forestalling of things, protection etc, may exhibit the Cild White variety, which is entirely white, bright, and has a strange aura, of cold around it.
- Cold Black is rarer, but is usually found in people who have extended their life to unnatural ages, as well as those who modify their body. Just like cold white, this dream force has a cold aura around it, but unlike cold white, it is almost impossible to observe. When seen, it appears black. Cold White and Black are stable, but difficult to handle.
- Spectrum. Purple, green, orange, yellow, red (but not blood red) are called Spectrum dream forces. They just mean someone is specialized in the use of that type of dream force, or has changed it's color in accordance with their powers.
- Blue. Blue dream force is extremely rare, and is considered both refined and primal at the same time, by the few who have studied it, as paradoxical as that sounds. There is very little, to no information on this subject!
- So unless you have some of the below mentioned abilities (or the stuff in the other paste!) what CAN you do?
- A surprising lot of things, actually. Humans CAN radiate dream force, to at least around their bodies. Forming this faint aura, allows a human being to transcend it's physical limits, and do stuff like jump 10 meters in the air, or punch through concrete. They won't help against most dangerous daemons but, hey, you can try! Other than this, humans can expel dream force, in it's base form (but this base depends. The above colors are all examples of a base!)
- Or they can look cool and make things float, or move slightly. Most importantly, they can interact with dream force! By heating it, cooling it, liquefying, solidifying, etc! This is important for Spellcrafters!
- There are of course, ways, for humans to expand their power! Mainly, through the use of a spirit summon. A Spirit Summon, is formed by the dream force of a human, coalescing into a physical form. So all of the raw dream force that they create, is shaped into a Spirit Summon, which is basically a daemon...inside the soul/mind of a human.
- A Spirit Summon can actually be contacted, and even summoned (as it's name would have one believe!) into the material world. Not just this, but the Spirit Summon can be summoned INTO the body of a human. Which leads to an interesting ability, and what puts humans that have trained the use of their dream force to considerable extent, on par with daemons! Strong daemons, that is (although even so, make no mistake. A human with Internal Release alone at their best, in almost every case, would find it difficult, not to say nigh impossible to bring down the average daemon of the Age of Warriors. They've had roughly 6000 years to hone their craft after all ... )
- Internal Release, is basically a temporary Super Mode, much like External Release, in which a human becomes alike their Spirit Summon, and is practically a daemon for the time Internal Release is on (well, Surge Mode. More on that a bit below!). To take an example, having a dragon or dragon-like being as a spirit summon, would have you turn into some sort of dragon-human hybrid. Having a giant bright wisp, would probably turn you into a light elemental like being, etc.
- The stronger the Spirit Summon, the more alike them one becomes. If your dragon is roughly as large as a car, you'll prolly just get scales, a tail, wings, horns and fire breath or whatnot. But if your dragon is Neltharion-tier or some stuff, then you will turn into a smaller, albeit full dragon. Same with the wisp example, if the wisp is small and... Wispy, you maintain a human-appearance while glowing like a lightbulb. If it's a mini-sun, your limbs become less defined, and not much of your appearance can be made out etc, etc...
- Internal Release comes in THREE flavors!
- 1. Passive Mode. Partial Mode, just absorbs some of the dream force from the Spirit Summon. If the Spirit Summon is Aura based, then you just drain some of it, and add to your powers, and dream force output. As well as a small variation of their abilities.
- Continuing the above example, if you have the wisp spirit summon, then you form a bright aura, your dream force attacks or manipulation looks brighter, and shinier, and that sort of stuff. If it's a physical/density based spirit summon (remember, they are practically daemons), then you drain some of their matter. If you have the dragon, you'd just grow somewhat more muscular, your skin would be much harder to pierce, and you may gain fangs or reptile eyes!
- 2. Surge Mode. Surge Mode is the above mentioned bit, with you becoming a draconic humanoid, or light elements. It draws on the full power of the spirit summon into your body, and allows you to fight on a MUCH higher level, generally. Surge Mode however, is exhausting, and requires a considerable amount of either mental or physical stamina.
- Another drawback of it, is that injuries sustained in it (unless your spirit summon has a healing factor or regenerative capability) are amplified when you leave the form. However, Surge Internal Release (and Internal Release in general) is much easier to access than External Release. A daemon will use their Release form definitively less commonly than a human will use theirs.
- 3. Partial Mode. Partial Mode is a revolutionary new technique, that enables one to fight to, assuming they are skilled enough, a several times higher level than that offered by Surge Mode at a more efficient pace. Partial Mode works on the philosophy that one train their ability to enter and exit the Internal Release forms as quickly as possible. Basically, you draw only into one aspect of your Spirit Summon.
- For example, calling only onto the dragon example's ability to fly, or only the ability to breathe fire. Capable users of Partial Mode, can shift their Internal Release to a defensive portion (e.g dragon scales) when being attacked, and immediately switch out to dragon claws, or fire breath as they counter attack. Since switching out the forms consumes very little dream force or power, one can PRACTICALLY be in Surge Mode (but only in the parts of the Surge Mode that are relevant, technically) for a much extended period of time.
- Another lovely thing they can do is briefly focus on one aspect and forgo the rest. For example, make the dragon scales much sturdier than they would be in Surge Mode, but forgoing dream force from the offensive capacity of the form (the one you aren't using at the time either way!). This however, is pretty advanced shit!
- What else! Oh, of courseeeeeeee. You might still be wondering how do humans achieve some degree supremacy or even survival like this. Well, humans are capable of using Gems and Dream Force Armaments (also called Artifact Armaments. For those who are NOT new to the setting, these were once called Special Weapons). These will be clarified on the Human Abilities paste nevertheless!
