Title: In Search of the Author

Kayla had already checked the libraries of several cities on a number of planets but here, on Crypt, she finally found what she was looking for. She searched the library and finally came across the book after hours of sifting through moldy old tomes.

Treatise on Dragons

"Isss thisss it?" she quietly muttered to herself.

Pages of the mysterious book had been surfacing over the past week in pubs nailed to job boards or loose in the rooms of an inn on top of night stands next to beds. No author claimed ownership of the writings, but on the binding of the book in red letters it said

"By Haku, Champion of the Nameless One"

"Ssso... the author isss named Haku..." whispered Kayla. "He mussst come from Crypt if he isss a ssself-proclaimed 'Champion' of the Nameless One and if thisss isss the only place containing the full book."

Kayla turned the pages of the book and, to her surprise, only a fifth of the book had been written in. It was mostly filled with blank pages as though someone was writing the book then suddenly stopped and left it on a shelf in the library to be forgotten.

Kayla looked around the relatively empty library, then slipped the book into her bag and quietly made her way out of the place. She walked down 6th street until she reached The Igneian Delicacy and entered.

Gretchik, the proprietor, noticed the large sable dragon enter her place of business and stood up from her chair behind the bar.

"Welcome!” said Gretchik, “What can I get ya?"

"I'm looking for sssomeone," said Kayla. "And I'm hoping you can help me."
