Next, the Dominator, Yuuki Tachibana: the moment he had ordered his slaves to harm Yogiri, he’d died. It seemed even asking someone else to harm him counted as direct killing intent, but if that were the case, one would have expected Sion to die the moment she asked the same of Haruto. Or would she and Haruto simply die together the moment he actually made the decision to harm Yogiri? He certainly couldn’t rule out that possibility, but he felt like the chances of it being the case were rather low.

The Dominator class had special mechanics associated with it. There was a connection between the Dominator and his slaves for the exchange of acquired souls, and the slaves were absolutely obedient. As such, they could be thought of as extensions of the Dominator himself. At the moment Yuuki had died, there had been a large number of enslaved insects gathered around Yogiri, ready to attack. It was basically the same as Yuuki himself making the move. In that scenario, merely killing the bugs wouldn’t have solved the problem. By taking out the Dominator, Yogiri was eliminating the source of the killing intent.

次に、 支配 者 の 橘 裕 樹。 彼 は 配下 の 奴隷 に 夜霧 の 殺害 を 命じ た 瞬間 に 死ん だ。 そうなると 殺意 という のは、誰 かに 依頼 を し た だけでも 発生 する のかと 疑問 が 生じる。 しかし、 それ が 可能 なら ば、 シオン から 夜霧 の 殺害 を 依頼 さ れ た 春 人 も 当の シオン も 死ん で い ても おかしく は ない。 それとも、 春 人 が 夜霧 を 害し よう と し た 瞬間 に シオン まで 一緒 に 死ぬ という こと なのか。 　 確認 する 必要 は ある だろ う が、 その 可能性 は 低い と 春 人 は 考え て い た。 支配 者 には 特殊 な 事情 が ある から だ。 　 支配 者 と 奴隷 の 間 には 取得 し た ソウル を やりとり する コネクション が あり、 奴隷 への 命令 は 絶対 だ。 つまり 奴隷 は 支配 者 の 一部 という 扱い に なる。 　 裕樹 が 死ん だ 瞬間、 夜霧 の 周囲 には 奴隷 化 し た 蟲 が 大量 に 存在 し て い て 夜霧 を 殺そ う と し た。 　 これ は 裕樹 が 殺そ う と し た のに 等しい。 この 場合、 夜霧 は 襲っ て くる 蟲 だけを 殺す のでは 解決 に なら ない の だ。 行為 の 主体 者 で ある、 裕樹 を 殺し て 初めて 殺害 の 意思 を 止め られる。
