  1. Over the past few months I have noticed a trend that I need to address with many contractors that we use for the Dwarf House, Truett’s Grill, & WinShape Homes.  Please know that if you are receiving this email does not indict you or the work, we just want to make sure that each one knows that we are concerned about the workmanship and ongoing business relationships.

  3. We would hope that if you have been selected to work with us that you would take great pride in doing the work assigned; the right way the first time.  We all know that there is always a possibility of a “hic-up” or two in any assignment.  But we must start taking greater pride in our work and not get comfortable in knowing that the work will continue to come.  As a coach would tell the team – “the best players are going to play and those that do not want to play need to find another team”.  It is never easy for us to dismiss a contractor.  We try to take in account for the things that can go wrong, but the poor workmanship has become the norm with some or long lead times and this will not continue.  If this describes your work – you will need to find another team.

  5. Communication is also a concern – Projects that can be done during regular business hours should be cleared ahead of time with the management team.  There may be something happening at the restaurant that would prohibit you from completing your work in a timely manner.  If you are planning on working at a restaurant after hours or on Sunday, this must be communicated to the management staff at that restaurant and I would suggest you making note of who you have scheduled the visit.  When you have been contact by Cindy O’Neal or myself concerning a project, we need to know when the project is complete.  If there is going to be an extended delay in the project’s completion, we need to know ASAP.

  7. Most of the time, we do not push too much on price, we try to honor “an honest day’s wage for an honest day’s wager”.  As a steward of what has been entrusted to me – I needed to let you know of my concerns.  To be honest, I have been embarrassed by some of the work that some contractors call “finished” and send an invoice.  Before you send an invoice, I would like for you to ask yourself – “Is this work something I can be proud of?”  Many times I use the analogy from a CFA restaurant serving customers – If we continually get your order wrong or leave something out after a while, would you continue to come back.
