  1. Breath of the wild, breath of the wild. This gaaaaame! As you guys all know, this game has been getting 9/10, 5stars, 95/100, but is it worth all that? Well the game play is no question the most fun I've had playing a video game in quite some time. Nintendo pulled off something awesome here in the way this game is crafted. My biggest fear when this game was being shown off what that the world was going to be very empty like oot or assassins creed. I said that if its like red dead redemption then it will do fine. And what do ya know? There's, hunting, gathering, cooking, side quests, shrines, mining, raiding camps, helping people fight off monsters. It's great, and without a doubt, the game's biggest strength. The way the story is given to you is fine, no complaints. Movement options like shield sliding and gliding are a BLAST to perform. I have a lot I could say about what I like about this game because I truly do like this game it's just....(oh boy here we go) there is a LOT missing here. Not just classic Zelda staples like the hook shot and a musical instrument. But there's a lot of times in the game where I'm just like "is that it?" Lets start with the dungeons (if you can even call them that). What happened here? This is NOT Zelda! Zelda dungeons (when done right) are these cool areas that you can tackle how you like. There's progression, cool loot, locked doors, mini bosses, new enemies, and best of all they take time. Besides vah Rutah I FLEW through these dungeons. I like the gimmick where you can move the DBs around. But these just feel like bigger shrines. Every dungeon structure is the same, go get a map, go collect all terminals, activate big terminal, fight elementblight Ganon, move on. EVERY dungeon, is this. They really dropped the ball here as I felt these weren't really dungeons and that's not good. Zelda games need to have deep dungeons. If this game was to mimic the first one, then what the hell happened? Also why can't I go back to dungeons?! There's chests I missed and you're telling me I CANT go back to the dungeons? FK off botw. Next: enemies and difficulty scaling. Man this game's difficulty is all over the place. It starts off great, very challenging. By the 3rd dungeon it Just becomes a breeze. The combat system is too shallow for my tastes (I would have liked more types of swings like in the other 3D Zelda's but I can live with it) but that isn't what holds it back. It's the enemy selection. Bokoblins and moblins are fine but not for every enemy in the game like come on man. Combat with these guys always boils down to: perfect dodge, attack, repeat. These are fantastic early game enemies but they don't ever go away. They just get stronger and do more damage. Just because an enemy does a lot of damage, doesn't make it difficult. Go, play, dark souls. Seriously, go play dark souls and you'll see where I'm coming from. If you're gonna give us a system that allows us to parry and dodge then design enemies around it. Give them multiple attacks rather than just a vertical and horizontal swipe. The lynal is just a blast to fight. It hits hard AND it has multiple attacks. Some you have to Perfect dodge, some parry, some regular dodge, run away from, hell you can even mount him. The mini bosses are the same. Oh a hinox? Let's just shoot his eye and FK him up. He swipes when you're far away and he butt stomps when you're close. EVEN CALAMITY GANON WAS EASY AF, but I'll get to that. You know what would have helped this problem besides better enemies? Make dodging use stamina, like a lot of it. This would make it to where you have to choose between shielding and dodging. Dodging is the best option because why shield? Your shield degrades and you can't wiff punish. Why parry when you can just perfect dodge? Why do ANYTHING when you can just PERFECT DODGE! UGH WHAT HAPPENED HERE HOW DID THEY NOT SEE THIS? Seriously go play dark souls and you'll see what I'm talking about. Okay let's talk about the audio. Let's start with the soundtrack: ....it's kind of Meh. It may have been because the sound mixing is terrible and I can rarely ever hear the music. But how come every time It turns morning you get that same damn piano piece EVERY SINGLE TIME! This game gets stale. None of the tracks really stood out to me. I laughed when I heard the music when you fight he little guardians. It's not really here and that sucks. The voice acting....oh lord. You know, all the problems I'm gonna list could all he been solved by just giving us the Japanese voices. It's so disconnected because in the cutscenes they speak English and in the overworld they speak Japanese???????!!!! Revali, the Goron kid, and many more just sound so lifeless. It's cringe worthy at times. I did like the present day Rito that helps you get to the DB, his voice direction is great. Zelda is done well too. There's a distinct lack of settings too. Why can't I change my controls? Better yet, WHY can't I mess with the sound mixing! Maybe I'd be able to enjoy the sound track if it wasn't freaking whispering to me. Oh boy and now the ending. What the shit happened here? Ganon is just kind of there. It would have been sweet if he was like taunting you the whole game, or you got to see him directly killing someone we liked. I would have wanted to WHOOP his ass if the story had him kill all the champions. If it showed him killing mipha i would have had all the motivation. You need to give me more reasons to want to beat your villain rather than," oh he's evil." He never does anything directly himself, it's all the guardians. His first form of his fight is fine I guess. It's way too easy. FK that, it's not fine. Final bosses should NOT be easy. His final form is A JOKE! You run around on the horse, shoot target practice, dodge a slowly moving laser (oooooooh scary). When the fight was over I said," what? That was it." It's so disappointing. There's other little things I just feel the game should have had. There should have been a blacksmith to craft weapons and repair weapons. The house is too small, where are there only 3 racks. There's just a bunch of little things that I think the game could have done with. But even all these bad things doesn't hold the game down. It still managed to hook me to the point where I couldn't put it down. Sigh, I really wanted to give this game a 9/0 I really did. But after that finale. This game gets a 8/10. Its open world fun is just too much goodness for me to not like it. It just gets way too easy and that's not something that can be fixed by making the enemies hit harder. Ya know the story was okay at best as well. It just kind of ends and I don't care too much about these characters. Meh, I've done enough. I'm ready for the FLOOD of angry people that think this game is perfect like their precious Oot.
