  1. Just some info as to why I don't run Rockman.EXE 4.5 on emulator:
  2.
  3. -There isn't a real end to the game per-say. The category any% is defined as clearing all the main tournaments in the game. The Everyday Tournament, the Silver Tournament, and the Gold Tournament. After that the endgame is opened up so I said any% would be up to the Gold Tournament.
  4.
  5. -Tournaments in the game open up based on real time. The game was made to be something like a Tamagotchi except with a NetNavi so they expect you to run around, play, save, turn off and come back later. The issue with this is emulators don't do a good job at emulating an internal clock. Most emulators have an option for a real time clock which just uses your computer's clock for the game. This doesn't work for EXE 4.5. Disabling the option makes the game always think it's 00:00 and no tournaments happen at that time. Enabling the option just sets the time to whatever time your computer is set to.
  6.
  7. -The game has an option in the main menu to change the time but it doesn't work on emulator. Having real time clock off, the game cannot change it from 00:00 to any other time, it will always reset back to 00:00. Having it on won't work either. Changing the time will do nothing at all, it will just reset itself back to whatever time your computer is set to.
  8.
  9. As you can see, doing anything besides Everyday Tournament on emulator is a nightmare. It is possible but it can't be done in a single sitting, this is why I wanted to get a physical copy. Now that I've purchased one I'll be routing the game on console with a working time change option. The only issue with that is the game gets rid of all your Zenny (money) and jacks you out when you use it so I'd have to be careful of when I change the time and how much Zenny I'd need to keep going but that will all be a part of the routing process.
