本当は小さな女の子福江に込めた想いとは

I:最初に演じることになったときの心境など覚えていますか？
M:いただいた資料をすごくドキドキしながら開いたのを覚えています。「ちっちゃくてかわいい子！」という外見で、福江ちゃんがかわいいっていうのも嬉しかったですし、いろいろな艦娘たちをさらに演じさせていただけたというのも嬉しかったです。この子に会えてよかったです。

I:ほかに福江の第一印象はどんな感じだったでしょう？
M:ぷにぷに、青い、あとは、気が強そうだなって言う印象でした。今まで演じてきた子たちよりさらに小さかったので、どう演じようかなって考えてました。

I:そして実際はどう演じたんでしょう？
M:海防艦「福江」として、かつての史実を調べてみて、福江ちゃんにもこんなかわいい顔に似合わず壮絶な経歴があったんだなとわかりました。そういったことが強いセリフとして出ているのかなって思いました。ただ強気っていうふうにも見えるんですけど、その強気の裏には過去から『自分が強くなくっちゃ』と言う思いがあるのかなと私には思えて、泣けてしまいました。

I:印象に残っているセリフは？
M:戦績表示のところで、情報を取ろうとするんだけど『届かない』というものがあって、それが印象深いですね。いつも気を張って頑張っているんだけど、本当はちっちゃい女の子なんだって改めて気付かされるというか。そんなに無理しなくていいんだよって声をかけたくなってしまう、そんなセリフだと思います。
本人としては当然届くつもりで手を伸ばしたのに、届かなくって思わず声が漏れてしまう、そんなつもりで演技をしました。あとは、占守ちゃんを「しむしゅしゅしゅ～」ってよぶところですね。それがかわいいのもそうなんですけど、文字でみたとき「しゅ」が何個あるんだろうって戸惑いまして（笑）。
収録のときにはちょっと失敗してしまいました（笑）。それから強気なものでは「負けない…負けるもんか！」って、提督との最初の出会いからいうところが印象的ですね。でもそれが母港とかほかの場所でのセリフを聞いていくと、自分に言い聞かせているのかな、とかそういうふうに感じられてくる。
攻撃的な言葉じゃなくて護るための言葉なんだなって思いました。提督のみなさんにはそんな彼女を守ってあげて欲しいですね。傷ついたらすぐお風呂に入れてあげてください（笑）。

I:今号の表紙を飾ったのは瑞鳳でした。冒頭でもお伺いしましたが改めてイラストをご覧になっての感想をお願いします。
M：いやー、かわいいです！瑞瑞コンビですね（笑）。そしてバレンタインということで、瑞鳳ちゃんがバレンタインチョコっぽいものを持っているんですけども、きっと中身はみっしりハート型の玉子焼きが詰まっているんじゃないかな！って私の勝手な想像を膨らませました（笑）。
いつもは和装でお正月には晴着を着たり、ローソンの店員さんになったりということはあったんですが、こんなにカジュアルな服装の瑞鳳ちゃんを見るのは初めてじゃないかなってくらいなので、すごく新鮮です。

I:それでは、最後に、提督のみなさんへメッセージをお願いします。
M:「艦これ」をいつも遊んで、愛していただいて、本当にありがとうございます。今月は「艦これ」大特集ということで、私が福江ちゃんの艦娘声優を努めているということも発表させていただいて、本当に嬉しいです。
瑞鳳、浦風、浜風、谷風、福江とそれぞれに好きな提督さんがいらっしゃると思いますが、これからも彼女たちを愛してあげてください。きっと、彼女たちが戦えるのも提督さんのおかげです。本当にありがとうございます。これからも提督さんの応援を受けて、頑張ります！

What feelings did you put into little girl Fukae?

I: Do you remember how you felt after getting to know that you'll voice Fukae?
M: I remember being extremely excited when opening the documents. Fukae being cute in the "small child" way made me really happy! I'm glad I was allowed to voice multiple shipgirls, and that I could meet this girl.

I: What was your first impression of Fukae?
M: Squishy, blue aaand... strong willed! Although, she's much smaller than any other girl I voiced, so I put a lot of thought into acting.

I: How did it come out in the end?
M: Fukae turned out as Kaiboukan Fukae. I researched her real history and came to understand that unbefitting of her cute face, her career was actually outstanding! I thought that this deserves some strong-sounding lines. However, when I realized there's more to her, that her will to become strong stems from her past and real life events, I actually shed a tear.

I: Which lines left the biggest impression on you?
M: When she's trying to fetch some battle information for you at the Ranking screen, she says she can't reach something. It actually left a deep impression on me. She's always trying so hard and this line makes you realize that she's really just a little girl.
I wanted to voice it in a way that will make people go: "Oh, you don't have to push yourself so much". Another thing I aimed for there was voicing it as if an adult tried to naturally reach out their hand for something, but couldn't and unconsciously let something like that slip. I also like how she says "Shimushushushu~". It seems cute, but when I've seen it for the first time, I actually couldn't count all the "shu"s (laughs). I actually made a few mistakes when recording (laughs). After that, during her introduction, when she says "I won't lose, like hell I'd lose!". That bit was really impressive. However, when at the Home Port screen, this line actually gives of this specific kind of vibe... as if she was talking to herself. To me it's said more in a protective, instead of aggressive, manner. This said, I'd like for all the Admirals to protect her and give her a good scrubbing as soon as she gets damaged (laughs).

I: This issue's cover has Zuihou on it. I've asked you before, but what were your first thoughts about it?
M: "Oh no! It's too cute!". ZuiZui combo (laughs). Zuihou holds something looking like Valentine chocolates, but I bet those are just heart-shaped tamagoyaki! ... I think I've let my imagination go to far (laughs). She always wore traditional clothes for the New Year celebrations, once she wore the Lawson uniform, but it's pretty much the first time she put on something so casual, isn't it? It's super refreshing to see her like that!

I: Well then, before we go, a few words to the Admirals please.
M: Thank you for always playing KanColle and your love for it! This month's issue has a special KanColle feature in addition to me being announced as Fukae's seiyuu. I'm really, really happy. Zuihou, Urakaze, Hamakaze, Tanikaze, Fukae... I think each of them has Admirals who love them, but please share your love with all of them. I'm sure that their Admiral is the source of their will to fight. Really, really thank you! Just as in the past, I will keep working hard for Admirals' support!
