  38. S Walk, Thanks for your effort and information. It’s far more than the backers receive from the unprofessional, thievery corporation known as Indiegogo.
  39.
  40. That Shebaz turned out to be a real piece of shit, hiding under rocks and refusing to take responsibility….not that it matters. He’s the sort of guy that will ‘explain’ the situation by saying it’s not his fault.

  50. So I lied. Some yahoo named Don McLaren told me my attitude said crowdfunding isn't for me. Well, Don, you're right. It's not. Seeing as how we didn't even get a kiss with this f*ing, why should it be. It's also funny that Shebaz blocked me from following his account, as if I wanted to...

  55. It’s lack of communication and response from Indiegogo and campaigns like this that destroy the abilities of legitimate ideas from getting off the ground. I’m done with Indiegogo and any campaigns through them. They collected their money and could care less about any of us. Screw them.

  132. Companies House doesn’t have any kind of legal oversight beyond declaring a company ongoing or dissolved, based on registration documents filed (or lack thereof) with them.
  133.
  134. Indiegogo doesn’t care. I did try contacting various organizations within the UK, but most were unable to help me because I wasn’t a UK resident.

  145. Once Wedg Limited is struck off, I will probably change the wedg.co site to a static page with links to here, the twitter page, and anything else that may be of interest. It will probably be up for at least another year, maybe two, depending on how much I feel like paying for it.

  151. Indiegogo (as expected) closed my latest request with “solved” – I’ve given up on actually trying to get information from them, instead just creating a paper trail for whatever purpose that shows I’ve pointed them to the documents stating this project has failed.

  182. Companies House published notice that Montrose Innovations Limited is formally dissolved as of January 30th, 2017. Documentation to be available in 5 days,
  183.
  184. This leaves Wedg Limited, if such a company still exists, without a directorship. As no company answers to this name at the published address, I feel that both will eventually be dissolved.
  185.
  186. This pretty much means there is no chance of this project completing. Indiegogo doesn’t care, and we’re left holding the bag.

  369. At this point, a letter of intent to strike will be published. 2 months later, the company, at the pleasure of the solicitor handling the proceedings, will be struck from the rolls and formally dissolved upon publication of a notice in the relevant document.

  371. Montrose has a few months to get their act together. However, since they have gone silent, have not confirmed accounts, and even their office has vanished from the web, I have doubts that this will happen.

  377. I spoke with a representative from Companies House regarding Wedg-Montrose Innovations failure to file their very first confirmation statement. The representative stated that “Companies House are currently chasing the company for the overdue Confirmation statement. The form should have been filed no later than 06/09/2017.” I was also told that Montrose will get a few chances to correct the error. If they do not, Companies House will begin formal dissolution procedures.

  401. Dear Everyone,
  402.
  403. The last I expect is a reasonable explanation.
  404. 1) What is the current status of the Project?
  405. 2) Is there anything which can be shared public? Like source code?
  406. 3) What is the actual status of the WEDG ltd?
  407. 4) Who is ‘Carol Bohm-Scott’? What is his role?
  408. 5) Are there posibilities to divide the unused money? If there is any?
  409.
  410. I understand that investing is taking risk, but this is something else.
  411. If you invest you have the right to information.

  697. @Gaston Cardey, It became painfully apparent to me some time ago that Indiegogo has no (by their own rules) desire to do anything more than provide a platform to collect money. They don’t have to care because there is no accountability. They have their money. The fact that the campaign fleeced us of funds – by bad intentions or bad luck, we’ll never truly know – is nothing that they are ever going to care about. At least, not until the money stops because of said bad press!

Any backers with video skills who can create a parody video to the sound track using multiple images of the Wedg unit with horns attached and upload it to Youtube? It may get some much needed publicity to highlight the disgrace that is Team Wedg.

  968. @rickyfews, your best bet would be contact paypal directly. Point them towards the comments, explain the mess that’s happened here. If you go back far enough someone (sorry forget the name) posted a PDF copy of their “We’re in legal trouble letter.”

  974. Latest update – more unverifiable tripe. “While many of you feel the project is a scam…” nothing can be closer to the truth would be more apt. If this is not a scam the writer of the update should properly Identify themselves and provide verifiable evidence to support what is being said. If the writer, aka Team Wedg does not then logic would dictate that it is a scam.

  979. I’ve joined the troops to find out the truth about all this. I’ve just sent an email to IGG. I think if more and more backers do the same we might be able to speed things up.
  980.
  981. Next step for me will probably be reporting the fraud to UK gov (suggested by @Nikolai Tesla https://www.sfo.gov.uk/contact-us/reporting-serious-fraud-bribery-corruption/ and @Cosmarchy in his open email to WEDG http://pastebin.com/JQR0FD1N)
  982.
  983. Keep you posted about any IGG answer…

  988. Here is the IGG (automated) answer: “Thanks for reaching out. While perk offers are made and managed by campaign owners, we at Indiegogo expect campaign owners to communicate regularly with their contributors. I am sorry to see that this has not been the case with this campaign. We will send a message to the campaign owner to remind them of their responsibilities to keep you and backers updated on the status of their project. In addition, I encourage you to get in touch with them directly. …”

  992. Although I don’t really believe this is a scam, I do think someone screwed up big time. Really frustrating to bury that much money. Actually I really needed such a device two years ago. Now I don’t anymore as I had to find other solutions. Most expesive paperweight of my life.

1009. I added my drop into the bucket against this scam. I have also found this valuable option to report this scam to the UK Serious Fraud Office:

1018. If you’re in the UK, you may be eligible for a refund under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act, if you paid for any portion of the funding with a credit (not debit) card.

1024. @dbrissenden The biggest problem with this whole mess is: no accountability once the money has been paid.

1038. As long as we still put pressure against Indiegogo and WEDG/SHEHBAZ AFZAL something will have to give. Definitely without a doubt this is a scam and I will not rest until the authorities bring to justice the responsible party.

1049. @Gaston Cardey, at this point I can’t believe the update from Wedg was more than hush money paid to keep Indiegogo from cancelling the campaign.
  1050.
1051. There is absolutely no reason why more frequent updates can’t be given – it’s not like said director has to report to an office in some far off city to submit it.

1057. @Bryan Walker. I was thinking exactly the same. And will go an go an go untill every one of us give up and never come back here.
1058. At least, send me the HDD and will try to use them in any way (2 HDD of 1 Tb each).
1059. There should be a way for these platforms offer some warranty or settlement to the poor basterds that fall into a scam like this.

1074. @Team Wedg: Thank you for the update but can you go into the a few more details. We would like to know about the new MD, their interest, background etc and also about the new team members. Surely a new website update would be in order and/or a forum where we, the investors could input our ideas.

1079. @john34754 – as indicated in the comments thread below research suggests that the new director of the company is a fictional character / ghost / figment of someones imagination / not real. Smoke and mirrors to obfuscate the gullible.

1084. A change of director for me is welcomed and overdue. Rather than bashing the new director and company I’m going to be positive and hope that Montrose Innovations can rescue the situation. Carol, please introduce yourself and the team and what roles you all will play. How do you intend to move forward? Regular updates are essential to backers preferably once a week. An update which has very little information or maybe includes setbacks must still be posted. We need to be kept in the loop.

1089. They don’t tell you in an open way, but if you read between lines, it’s perfectly clear: “We can’t do anything, sorry. The campaign owner is another failure of this crownfunding way. We have another guy who scam the backers (another and the total goes up to…).

  1095. I’ve got a super-ultra-fantastic answer from IGG!
1096. “In looking at your contribution to the campaign “WEDG: the personal cloud you’ve been waiting for,” I see that your contribution has already been sent to the campaigner. This means that a refund can no longer be issued by Indiegogo."
1097. Really? Are you sure about this? Really-really sure? jjajjaejjajjejajejjejeja

1103. ... "While your contribution brings the campaign idea closer to becoming reality, there's always the chance that a project may end up falling through, and the campaign owner may not be able to offer their contributors the perks they'd originally promised. If you’re still interested in receiving a refund, we recommend you get in touch with the campaign owner directly. Campaign Owner's: Carol Bohm-Scott, carol.bs@wedg.co" = You're all dumbs and you're scammed. But we (IGG) have our money.
