  1. Mik Vs. Ken
  2. My condolences to Ken on his loss.
  3. Tak vs Strode
  4. This took me a bit to work through. Mik relies on Strode’s ability to throw stuff. There’s this misunderstanding between the two-debaters about which feats are valid, i.e. Strode is EoS so which feats from his thread are invalid given the implication that he improves over time? This is a mitigating tactic used by some debaters to remove points of attack against their characters, like saying this prior version of my character doesn’t have the same weaknesses that my current one does. However I found myself agreeing with some of Ken’s key points. 1. Luther doesn’t have a lot of ranged options on the rooftop. 2. His preference for catching things with his muscles is a bad idea against the warsword. 3. Luther’s offense is insufficient to meaningfully hurt Tak. 4. Tak slightly edges out Luther in navigating the battlefield. Mik points out that Luther’s projectiles are bullet speed, and Tak has bullet-timing feats. Mik makes a claim that Tak doesn’t bother avoiding bullets, Ken has scans for him blocking them in minute time frames. This one is concretely Ken for me.
  5. Guts vs Ben.
  6. This was a tough one. Mik doesn’t provide convincing evidence that he could take a swing from Guts’ sword, and there’s basically no evidence that Ben has the striking feats necessary to kill/incapacitate Guts. Guts’ armor not being pierced by Serpico holds water (though I’ll note here that I don’t think the Berserker armor would help him out against paralyzing neurotoxins, just that the darts wouldn’t pierce him).
  7. That leaves the impact webbing. Ken relies on the mast feat to show Guts’ lifting strength and ability to remove it from himself. Mik’s claims regarding the webbing involve a scan where Ben uses them to hold up a Quinjet (he mentions that Ben put this together hastily, though I’m a little skeptical that the impact webbing has the same properties without evidence they can do the same given they behave differently and are intended for different purposes). Mik demands a lifting calc, and Ken gives him one. Even if the mast claim is overblown(and it likely is), I’m reasonably convinced given that Ken demonstrated that every other factor in the fight favors him. One point of contention is not enough to steer a fight one way or the other when there's several areas that could've been expanded on further.
  8. Black Beetle vs Sniper Mask
  9. Mik asserts that BB’s battlefield awareness and general stat superiority gives him an edge over SM. Ken relies on SM just shooting him, and notably does not raise any points regarding the matchup in his 2nd response. Whether he does this in concession to Mik in this fight or perhaps he decided it was not worth his time is unclear. Looking at the points, SM has offense with bullets that he can ricochet and can discern BB’s location via hearing. Straightforward, SM’s durability is irrelevant if he just shoots BB (and consequently if the bullet either fails to hit or is ineffective against BB, SM loses.) I think those implications are clear, and whether BB gets hit from behind by sneak attacks is indeed relevant when looking at a character who can engage from odd angles. However, BB’s provided durability feats in his first scan shed a lot of doubt on whether SM can effectively hurt him, and Ken fails to provide piercing evidence to prove to the contrary. Mik takes this one very comfortably.
  10. Ken wins 2-1.
