  1. Adrian leads the woman to a new addition to the vista!
  2.
  3. Upon entering, she'd notice that the vast majority of the first floor was dedicated to a meeting place. The chairs were perfectly aligned with the desks, so on and so forth. It all looked very professional.
  4.
  5. "Welcome to the Monbtell Sanctorum. This is the new base of operations for the Galeford Research Association, and will be where we conduct the majority of our work."
  6.
  7. He takes a seat, crossing his legs. The woman might have noticed something very different about him. He looked.. exactly as he once had, prior to his death. She might have been able to sense the subtle arcanic energies oozing from his circlet.
  8.
  9. "At any rate. I spoke with Istvan. Seeing as he is the acting authority of the colony, he decided to reinstate me as the head of R&D. That means we do not have to wait any longer."
  10.
  11. Adrian pulled out his tome, opening it up.
  12.
  13. "Wecan resume working on the perfected means of spire shard necromancy. The schematics and runic theory are largely complete. However, we still need to ensure that the runes are designed specifically to compliment the process."
  14. (Adrian Montbell)
  15.
  16. A new room built into the vista. Adrian had definitely been busy it seemed. The Necromancer looked around the room before finding herself a seat along with Adrian.
  17.
  18. "I was wondering when you were going to start expanding operations. Old home was a bit small to fit a family and a research facility."
  19.
  20. Ceres must have been too busy to lead if Adrian had taken up the mantle of R&D leader once more.
  21.
  22. She leers at Adrian for a bit. "Adrian. How did you manage to get all of your skin back?" She quickly asked before he could start the discussion on the project.
  23. (Rebecca Ravenseer)
  24.
  25. Adrian leaned back in his seat. He pointed a finger towards his head.
  26.
  27. "Human ingenuity and a bit of mimic blood." The man said with a smile. Apparently, he even sounded like he used to. He retained that scholarly, somewhat cunning tone of his.
  28.
  29. "It was a personal project. The circlet was crafted by Dylerun, the runic theory developed by Drew and perfected by myself. The runes themselves were laced with mimic blood and then empowered by an illusion magi."
  30.
  31. "With this I am able to retain a projection indistinguishable from reality. I look, sound, smell, feel as I once did."
  32.
  33. He holds a hand forwards towards her, gesturing for her to shake it.
  34.
  35. "In case you wanted to test it out for yourself."
  36. (Adrian Montbell)
  37.
  38. "I see, so it's an illusion." The Oscuri said, looking down at the offered hand that she turned down shaking. Adrian was left hanging, ooph. Rebecca looks over the ring for a moment before spinning around to face the table and down at the tome before them.
  39.
  40. "Sorry, figured that you used the shard for white oil. It looks rather real." She reads through the pages presented to her. Adrian's rune writing skills were on par with her own, and it did seem as if the runic language was sound, in theory at least.
  41.
  42. "Right then, so you need my necromancy skills to compliment the runes?"
  43. (Rebecca Ravenseer)
  44.
  45. Adrian shakes his head.
  46.
  47. "I am a man of my word, Rebecca. The conditions of our agreement revolved around the fact that the shard would be utilized to further increase our understanding of necromancy."
  48.
  49. As she looks down through the tome, she finds the notes detailing the runic theory the scholar had developed. It was namely in regards to the runes and their integration into the device. That much had been worked out, and given the meticulous sketches and overly-detailed notes it didn't appear as if there were any issues.
  50.
  51. Say what you will about the man, but he was diligent if nothing else.
  52.
  53. Research was his bread and butter.
  54.
  55. "But yes, that is precisely what I need. As you can see, everything else has already been attended to. The runic arrays situated throughout the catalyst have been perfected. What remains, however, is this."
  56.
  57. Adrian points to the center of the catalyst device, where a body-shaped indention could be easily observed. The runes from the arrays around the tyrium pillars and the orchilacum base seemed to stop just outside of it.
  58.
  59. "As you can see, all of the runic arrays lead to the central array that encompasses the resurrection chamber. Tell me what functions I need to enable, and I will see that the runes adherent to the necromantic process are designed and implemented."
  60. (Adrian Montbell)
  61.
  62. "good, good. I'd have to throttle you if you did use it for something so frivolous." She nods. The woman had become a bit more aggressive as of late. Such was the effect of chaos magic such as Necromancy.
  63.
  64. "Sorry-Ahem, back to the runes."
  65.
  66. "Ahh..." She thinks for a bit as she takes a quill out from her myriad of gear hidden inside of her cloak.
  67.
  68. "The first function of course will be the creation of independent bindings. The shard of course will house the soul. A phylactery." She leans down, writing down a series of dark runes written in the language of Azrael's art instead of the usual language of the angels that regular rune writers used.
  69.
  70. "need to provide mana as well to the mana circuit to keep the soul bound to the body."
  71. (Rebecca Ravenseer)
  72.
  73. Adrian nods a few times.
  74.
  75. "Good, good. Utilizing the Azraelite variant of traditional runic scripture should bolster the effectiveness of necromantic processes."
  76.
  77. The scholar spins his pen a few times, apparently pondering over a few different variables. He furrowed his brows and leaned forwards, taking a careful look at the runes she had written onto the parchment.
  78.
  79. "Here is what I propose."
  80.
  81. The scholar draws some simple lines over the diagram, labeling them 'necromantic runes'. Eight linear arrays drawn in accordance to the positioning of the tyrium pillars and the supporting runic network (which established the containment & recycling function, as to ensure the spire shard energy was properly utilized).
  82.
  83. They bled inwards from the array outside of the resurrection chamber, travelling on top of it. The runes all met at the true incenter of the entire catalyst-- where the spire shard arc reactor chamber was placed. Once a body was inside of the resurrection chambers, said arc reactor would be located at the body's center of gravity.
  84.
  85. "All of the functions need to be interconnected, otherwise what we have in mind will not work. It is imperative that the runes you proposed are positioned properly in a way that accentuates the power of the spire shard."
  86.
  87. Adrian looked up towards the Oscuri.
  88.
  89. "These eight necromantic arrays, which will meet at the spire shard arc reactor chamber, should suffice as suitable bindings empowered by the mana which the shard itself emits."
  90.
  91. (Adrian Montbell)
  92.
  93. "Hrmm..." She taps her chin with the feather of her quill as she looks down at the runes and the proposal from Adrian. He had the brains behind the idea. Now it was up to her to execute with her own knowledge on Necromancy.
  94.
  95. She had the idea. She dabs her quill once more as she started to write down more runes into the tome.
  96.
  97. They followed Adrian's idea, but they were written with the true knowledge of her mastery over Necromancy and Azrael's language. Eight arrays of runes, each one containing different runes to perform different tasks required to resurrect and maintain the soul's bindings.
  98. (Rebecca Ravenseer)
  99.
  100. Adrian watched the woman draw over the lines, recording the actual runic scripture and recording it into the tome to be used at a later time.
  101.
  102. The scholar smiles, and once she finishes he closes the book shut.
  103.
  104. "Splendid, Rebecca. Thank you for your time. I believe that concludes our little session. Next? We begin the construction. For that, I'll need to contact the engineers."
  105.
  106. He stands up and tucks the tome under his arm.
  107.
  108. "We're one step closer, Rebecca. The Galeford Research Association is going to achieve what not even the Supreme Lich could."
  109. (Adrian Montbell)
