- A PATH MADE NOT LOST - Composed by Elrum
- When eyeless beasts comb the land,
- Then shall be the time for all tribes to gather.
- The march must be made, or the path will be lost.
- Words the Sun King spoke, given unto us
- Time come, now past, in His Wisdom trust
- All came together, against the eyeless foe
- Even whilst recovering from a deluge of woe
- His Ivory was marred, the Grey a muddy mire
- Ancient tree and sapling bore witness to mutations most dire
- Bounty of the northlands, the noble heartwood, the Grey
- Bore infestation, rotting, weakening old trunks with decay
- In those hard borne days after the longest night
- Golden shelled vermin crawled in Warreners sight.
- Sink holes and fallen, still weighing on their hearts
- When Chosen led Citizens, forced intruders, this life depart
- Surif Born, Chosen Caste, all safe guarding His Domain
- Rebuilt and attended this encroaching vermin in His name
- Soon Ivory Walls once shattered, stood rebuilt in granduer
- The Scaien gates, a beacon lit, steadfast and shining standard
- Deep in the Grey was a hive where mutation first infested
- Together His Ivory marched, growing blight they arrested
- That day won, not a Citizen lost, yet there was still cost
- One became eye-less and wouldn't concede, that which the Sun King deeded
- Now a path is being made, not lost, from the city to the Grey
- All Tuluki hands rise, supplies and aide they provide
- Our Sun King spoke true when he spoke prophecy to us
- Together Tuluk, together we grow, and in His Wisdom trust

- IMPRISONED BY ONES SELF - Composed by Elrum
- I need another story, please...
- Something not as sad as this...
- I thought an Irofel's life was supposed to be adventure
- Not some sick ironic twist...
- This Irofel started young, so reckless and cocksure
- Tales of Holten Irofel providing such grand allure!
- He walked unto a training yard saying armor was of no import
- Then met a harsh axe blow, twas one memorable retort!
- This Irofel started young, so reckless and cocksure
- Sitting around in dusty rooms seemed such a feckin' bore.
- He danced amongst the gypsies spinning facades 'bout himself
- Then found his words had turned to truth, losing a loved hearts wealth
- This Irofel started young, so proud and well traveled
- Surviving things he shouldn't have, his life must be a-dazzled.
- He sang carelessly throughout the Known land, twice!
- Then lost his wits and happiness, it wasn't worth the price...
- This Irofel became bold, so experienced and 'mature'
- Dedicating his life to Tuluk and new trials to endure!
- He rode along on patrols deep into the Grey expanse
- Then came a day where hands were maimed, by chance
- This Irofel isn't young, time is not his friend...
- Things have not turned out, how he'd hoped in the end.
- Has a tale, has a song, but his heart he still hath rend.
- This Irofel isn't young, time is not his friend...
- Many lessons he has failed in life, their value mis-comprehend
- One's nature is not set, not a chain that binds their choice
- Does not grant excuse, to break promises of their own voice...
- This Irofel has one lesson though, for others of his kin
- He hopes they listen well before their own paths begin
- Heed the wisdom of your elders, but also of your peers
- If you don't, then the cost will be that which you held most dear

- COLLECTION OF EDUCATIONAL SAYINGS - Composed by Elrum
- Bahamet trundle about like giant gurth
- Their tremendous bite is the worst!
- Hard to hit behind shells so large
- if it's steak you seek you'd best charge, charge, charge!
- Knives with scythe-like hands, motionless they lay
- Poisons burn sight from eyes for a whole day
- Unseen they will follow and suddenly attack
- Knock back with mounted charge, then thwack!
- Soldiers shells colored most black
- Spraying acid leads the frantic attack
- Bone, leather, and flesh melts away
- Finish them quick or with lost limbs pay
- Lady's barbed tail sways amongst eyeless kin
- Her strike halts all motion after piercing skin
- Oft with soldiers she'll prowl the Grey
- Remove her first from any fray
- Fliers buzz through red tinged sky
- Poisons leave hunters sweating where they lie
- In great swarms they'll pick you up
- Then torn to pieces is your luck
- Brutes are the biggest, with clubbed tails.
- Their poisons will send one into raging flails.
- Strong enough to fell half-giants.
- On your quiver, you should be reliant.

- FROM DUN TIL BLACK - Composed by Elrum
- From Dun's gate we ride out
- Heading eastward, til goodbye we shout!
- Southward bound we ride, into climes unkind
- Through gith and dunes, a menhir we seek to find
- The west winds we follow now, into lands much starker
- Through salt flats and pitfalls, we hope for a red stone marker
- Almost there, to a city most black
- Long past is any chance to turn back
- Guided south by the curve flow of sand
- An ivory road overlays the land

- MEMORIAL SONG TO FALLEN CITIZENS - Composed by Elrum
- Know a Citizen by how they act,
- Whose company they keep,
- To whose defense they leap.
- Have you...
- Heard a whistling sound from Grey Forest,
- Found the fierce spirit beneath acid scarred flesh,
- Battled the despair of diseases slow ravages...
- Will you...
- Have family lost beyond the sands,
- Mourn students trained with thine own hands,
- Fail to keep safe, someone you've held dear?
- Remember a Citizen when they die,
- What was the line they choose to defend?
- And which foe did they bravely defy?
- ========================================================
- SING ME A LOVE SONG - Composed by Esme al'Zeina Tan Muark
- I wanted to sing you a song,
- A song you could sing fooreeveer.
- And I wanted to rhyyme,
- And to bend phrase and tiime,
- Into somethiing cleveer.
- But yoou..
- Deserve..
- Something..
- Beetteer.
- If I could make all the mountains siing your name,
- And all the full moons dance in your flames,
- And promise to hold you...
- .. for all my days,
- It wouldn't be enough..
- To show you my loove."
- I wanted to paint you a dream,
- Of all of the things that I love in you,
- Of your boyish smile,
- And the truth in your eyes.
- And the way you always knew..
- That you...
- Deserved..

- BARD & BEAST - Composed by Elrum
- In the morning on the bed, they awakened
- With a grumble a mumble, they started kaaankin'
- She said he was a beast, he called her a bard!
- The moment came! The beast was spent...
- But the bardess toyed, she was not content!
- She whispered more, he whispered where
- They looked all over, before finding a chair.
- The sun was high, the day half spent...
- The man was wicked, his thoughts were dark
- He readied a crop for a mounted lark!
- The woman cried, her skin was flush
- The rider lashed, no hurry or rush.
- The chair held firm! Though it nearly broke
- When done, from a pipe, they did toke
- The man said please, the woman teased...
- The sun was low, the moons were too
- They had been at it til he was blue
- The woman crooned, the fella sighed
- She wrapped him in her thighs.
- He was spent, but she wanted more.
- She pinned him to the floor.
- He said no, she went slow...
- ==============================================================
- In a calling manner, you sing, in sirihish:
- "Let the time pass
- Slip between our fingers
- Like so much dust and sand
- Tossed listlessly in the breeze, oh please?"
- Musing, the chubby young blonde recites, in sirihish:
- "Let the time pass,
- Slipping between our fingers it doesn't last
- Tossed listlessly up in the breeze
- And yet in that moment it seems to freeze?"
- You sing, in sirihish:
- "Come beneath the Jallal tree
- Let the time pass, just a moment, please...
- It slips between our fingers, it just doesn't last.
- Like dust tossed up listless in the morning breeze..."
- Her unconfident tenor halting and uncertain, the lithe, greying woman sings, in sirihish:
- "Let the time pass
- Let it slip like sand between our fingers
- Each moment that we have won't last
- But the memories still linger."
- Looking down at the chubby young blonde while conintuing the rhythm on your tortoiseshell-inlaid fiddle, you sing, in sirihish:
- "Yet in that moment, doesn't it just
- Doesn't it just seem to freeze?"
- Dropping her voice shyly, squirming at the attention, the lithe, greying woman sings, in sirihish:
- "If time were a wine I would bottle it up
- I would cask it away for safe keeping
- That every moment with you I sup
- Could feel less fleeting."

- KURACI SPICE
- Whether the spice that you seek is red, golden or black...There is nothing so fine as the smoke from Kurac.
- When the wind it is raging and you're sick of the sand...Your troubles will fade with a tube in your hand.
- When your lovers' gone and left you or travelled far away...One pipe and youll be ready to face another day.
- Whether the spice that you seek is red, golden or black...There is nothing so fine than the smoke from Kurac.
- When your bones are all weary and your eyes want to close...You'll be better in a moment with some spice up your nose.
- When you're feeling like revelling you just give the sign...The party will be swinging with some spice in your wine.
- O' Whether the spice you seek is red, golden or black...There just ain't nothing finer than the smoke from Kurac!

- UNLUCKY LADY - Composed by Elrum
- All you fellas around me now
- All wanting to touch me and wondering how
- Let me tell you, this little trick
- Take a step back, before I give you a kick!
- That's right you heard me, you handsy lot
- While we're on the topic, lets mention my cot
- It's not for you, or you, or you!
- If I catch you slipping on it, I'll tell you to shoo!
- All you fellas around me now
- All wanting to touch me and wondering how
- Let me tell you, this is the way!
- Get out your coinpouches and be ready to pay!

- TAME THE MOONS
- Tingle come-a-jingle.
- Jingle come-a-loon,
- Have you heard of the templar
- that tamed the moons?
- Tamed Lirathu so she'd turn black
- Tamed old Jihae, yah, that's a fact.
- Tamed a halfling so it wouldn't bite,
- Tamed a mercenary till she wouldn't fight.
- Tamed an elf so it wouldn't steal,
- Tamed a fat man to skip his meal.
- Tamed a kank till it learned to fly,
- Tamed Life itself so he wouldn't die!
- Fact of the matter is,
- Some things don't change.
- The moons roll around
- And you can't arrange
- An elf not to steal
- Or a halfling not bite,
- Or a flying kank, or a thin fat man,
- Try real hard, day still isn't night.
- Tingle come-a-jingle.
- Jingle come-a-loon,
- Have you heard of the templar
- that tamed the moons?

- WHISPERING WOMEN AND A BARD
- *Performer
- They say, oh they say, that women have a way
- A way with whispering that makes them a man dismay!
- *Performer
- In the garden on a hot and sunny day
- A pair of women listened to a young bard play
- He sang sweetly to them with rhythms to please...
- All they did was whisper, what a cruel tease!
- +2nd performer
- Under the shade of the jallal tree
- As the charming bard makes time to play
- The two Tenneshi women do as they please
- Until the dying of the day.
- *Performer
- Instead they should have lept to their feet
- Before some ants come and bite their idle cheeks
- I've heard that jallal fruits abound...
- Bring ants to eat young bottoms, from all around.
- *Performer
- If only the lovely pair, had decided speak and share
- Their bottoms would be spared, I'd have given them a chair!
- Now they have but one way, to save themselves today...
- They will have to come back, to hear me sing another day.
- =============================================================
- THE LAST HALFLING
- Here and there and everywhere... There's a song, a tale to share."
- Today we'll find a simple one... The tale about a time much sung."
- Back in the king's age past,
- The was a halfling that was clever and fast.
- It swung from branch from tree to tree
- Always hunting for fools you see?
- Back then when the Grey was dry
- The halflings roamed and the fools did die.
- Feeding on unsuspecting flesh
- Loggers and hunters were always fresh.
- This clever halfling, was hunting that day
- In the forest known as the Grey
- He'd come upon a hunter and friend.
- The pair were unknowingly found their end.
- The halfling jumped from the tree with glee!
- The friend of the hunter attempted to flee!
- Alas it was no good, the time had come
- Neither the hunter of friend could run.
- What followed was a fought more fierce
- The halflings spear stabbed and pierced
- Despite the hunters best try then
- The halfling ended with a meal again.
- So this little tune has one lesson for you
- Always remember to bewary close to...
- The Grey forest. Else you'll be a halflings stew.

- FUNERAL SONG FOR MASTERBARD SUNICHI GROOT
- Now it's dimming, a guiding rhythm to our steps
- Its calling thrum fading in the evening light
- Its timeless and deep beat lingering still in us
- Ever guiding even in absence, urging us all
- Vast is the canopy of the Grey
- each ag'ed leaf a note of a life spent
- each branch a silent audience
- An audience to the warmth and life of the light
- An audience become dancers to the rhythm
- Soon the rhythm of the light becomes eternal
- His Light, His Art... Her brightness... Eternal in us all.
- =============================================================
- SAFE IN HIS LIGHT
- I remember tears streaming down my face
- When I said, I'll never be back home
- When all those shadows almost killed my light
- I remember I said, Don't leave me here alone
- But all that's dead and gone and passed tonight
- Just close your eyes
- The sun is coming now
- You'll be alright...
- No one can hurt you now
- Come morning light
- You and I'll be safe and sound
- Don't you dare peek before the dawn
- The horrors outside our walls keeps raging on
- Hold onto this song
- Even when the music's gone
- So Just close your eyes
- The sun is coming now
- You'll be alright
- No one can hurt you now....
- Come morning light
- You and I'll be safe and sound

- JUST A NAKKI COMMONER
- I'm a nakki commoner, no home, or job, or meal.
- I'm not worth the time of day or even one sunburnt skin peel
- I've shrifted every chance, to serve those better than me. I know
- No respect for my lot in life. I'm rabble and I'm low.
- But if I weren't so dim and clumsy, mayhap brighter then the rest?
- I'd find myself a place to serve, to put mettle to the test!
- I could even don the colors of my betters and be proud.
- Even proclaim my devoted servitude to other rabble...
- I'm just a nakki commoner. No home, or job, or meal.
- Still not worth the time of day or even a square deal.
- I've been blind of His Light since the day that I was born.
- Too sightless and faded to seek it out, my own happiness I've shorn.
- What a lot of poor luck, that landed me in this place
- So far from where I would be, if I had choice in this case
- Alas I'm born so far from His Light, it's sad
- It's a wistful dream to leave here, every Nakki's had.

- PURPLE AND SCARRED - A BYNNERS SONG
- Purpled and scarred. Oh, what a life
- From sun up to sun down, I give a grebbers tithe
- Toiling and digging through sand, rocks, and scrub
- I keep doing it because it's the thing that I lub!
- Purpled and scarred. Oh, what a life!
- I once sold shirt to get one good skinning knife!
- I figured that the ritikki I caught
- Would replace all the coins, for the shirt I had lost
- Purpled and scarred. Oh, what a life!
- I really need something better to do at night!
- I drink and carouse, with nary a care
- I even tattooed my face on a drunken kruth dare!

- SUN KINGS PROPHECY
- Darkness gathers overhead, falling with soft intention to those below. A victory… turned to defeat. A deed done in ignorance will set the world awash with anger.
- Wasted lands will fall victim, as swooping shadows solidfy a stone saber will shatter the earth.
- A time of ash shall mark the rise of the cities. Days of old shall be new once more.
- What was once opposite shall join as one - fire and water will mingle, the union will tremble the earth.
- When eyeless beasts comb the land, then shall be the time for all tribes to gather. The march must be made, or the path will be lost.
- Look for my warnings. Only if we march as one will we there be victory.
- Walk in My light, my people.
- =============================================================
- KEEP THE PATH - A SONG ABOUT THE PROPHECY
- Upon the land, the vermin do gather
- While the Ivory does prepare
- From each caste, all drawn together
- Faith in His Light they share.
- In times of darkness
- While the path is unclear
- Those are times to harken
- Lest we fall to crippling fear.
- His Wisdom was for all
- The meaning clear to see
- Our enemy the eyeless
- Stand firm, before the Tuluki tree
- United the tribes must stand
- Each with its own strength
- The twelve of the Gol-Krath land
- To keep the path, travel its length

- DUET BETWEEN LIFESWORN LOVERS - Elrum/Youko
- *Female
- I hear your soft uneasy breaths,
- exhaling warmth next to mine
- As we fumble over things to say
- Mouthing words that cease to rhyme.
- +Male
- I feel your silken hair
- It cascades pleasant over hand
- Distracting me from thoughts of other things
- Growing silence, more than I can stand.
- *Female
- each stab of silence rakes my heart
- draws tears that crack a fragile rib
- you glance at me, bemused and wry
- though my ink stops at the nib
- my mind is swarmed with second-guessing
- yours as blank as the swirling sea
- so vague and obscure you hide yourself
- from the world, sweet love, and me
- but i plead and beg and hope and dream
- you'll turn back and see i'm sane
- i am more than just a smitten girl
- high on tea and sunny days
- +Male
- Every passing moment,
- a part of me is lost
- bit by bit my soul is ripped
- I wonder, are you worth the cost?
- My heart is fluttering with worry
- Your own steady as cold stone
- at peace with everything around
- I just can't help but feel alone...
- I hope you never see my fear
- and only know my surety
- I'm not just a little boy
- I'm your devoted love, in obscurity.
- *Female
- now turn around and face my smile,
- no need for us to act so coy
- i am a kenku who's fallen for you,
- now will you be my fiery boy?
- +Male
- Only if you take my heart
- There's no sense in hiding our tale
- I'm yours if you but do your part
- Will you be my silver tongued girl?

- RIDDLE OF THE SOMETIMES MEAT - A puzzle with no right answer
- Once upon a time, in a southern field of the Gol.
- There was a tembo watching a rock as it rolled
- Now the tembo was a tembo so it was always hungry, you see
- It ate any tasty meat that just happened along its way
- However the rock wasn't just any old rock, you could guess
- It was sometimes a tasty juicy steak that no other meat could beat
- So as the song began, so did they meet
- The sometimes rock sometimes meat was rolling in the field
- While the tembo was watching it pondering a meal
- Now the second time they met, it wasn't just them
- Instead it was a whole bunch of tembo's all looking for tasty meat
- The tembo who'd seen the rock-meat before
- quickly told all the other tembos about the meal they had found
- When the other tembos looked, the sometimes meat looked like a rock

- FOR HIM - Lieutenant Arjaan's Foundation Festival Piece
- For the Grey,
- Do we hunt,
- In our way,
- For the day of His choice.
- For the light,
- Do we thrive,
- For the right,
- And the might of His voice.
- For the dead,
- Do we sing,
- For the red,
- And the white of His wall.
- For the King,
- Do we serve,
- For the ring,
- And the roar of His call.

- A Funeral song for Apprentice Flame of Rusarla
- A wind howls through the boughs
- Branches bend, but don't break
- Leaves rustles in chorus'd sounds
- But few leaves, the wind takes
- Lost to the whole, but not forgotten
- With each lost leaf is a seed planted
- His Light shines upon the Gol Krathu tree
- And beside it there are saplings from each fallen leaf
- Memories that hearten all those who keep
- Remember the leaf which sang in our chorus
- Keep close the seed it plants when it's gone
- Know comfort that the song will continue on.
