= Job Description: Junior React.js Engineer

== Introduction

Megawarne Consulting is looking for a React.js (or equivalent tech) engineer to
provide short-term support on a contract involving the installation, tracking
and monitoring of RFID readers and tags in a “movement intelligence” platform.

Requirements, architecture, visual design, wireframing and backend services work
will be handled by other team members. This is strictly a front-end development
role. Many risky and complex frontend components will be created by a more senior
frontend engineer in preparation for your involvement.

== Candidate Requirements

You are a junior engineer, comfortable with taking on a defined deliverable and
working on it independently to a decent degree of quality. You are happy to take
code that has been started, including predefined components, and using them to
build out a defined UI design.

You understand the importance of maintaining a presentable UI, ensuring that it
is responsive, and writing simple, straightforward code that other people after
you will have to maintain.

You are proficient with raw HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and in particular ES6.

You know how to use React.js, Redux and some existing React components to build
a single-page application according to a defined UI design.

You are comfortable with asynchronous APIs and understand how to use a callback-
oriented JavaScript library to call out to a server. You will not need to modify
the underlying transport mechanism works, but may have to understand it for
debugging purposes.

You are very comfortable using git for version control, and using Github as a
code hosting, issue tracking and wiki solution. You are also happy to be on
Slack if necessary. (Sorry, IRC is too hardcore for our clients.)

== Terms

There are no requirements around timezone, location, equipment, hours of work,
etc. as long as you communicate with the team regularly and attend to important
communication in a timely and responsive manner. Our deadline is a little
ambitious and velocity is important.
