  1. [12:05] Nariel (ellaquen): (( Thank you to everyone for joining us today for Episode 4 of Seeds of Hope. Im really excited and hope everyone has a lot of fun with this. But with that..I think well be tossing out the scene setting posts out and the following posts will probably establish the posting order. \O/ ))

  5. [12:16] STORYWEAVER A thick Miasma hung over the island as they exited the shoreline. Revealing the charred stumps of an old forest. Hills of burned out trees rose above them but quickly their view of it all would be cut off by the numberless disfigured effigies of their former glory. The forest was stuck in a state of undeath. Ash would linger in the air. Hanging around even when a brief breeze would break through the thick trees. Only bringing the scent of burning wood back to their noses. The eyes would begin to sting after a time as they wandered through the ash forest. Though no fire would ever be seen during their long journey. It had burned out long ago and the land was simply locked in this state. Before long; nature would seem to return. Though the dried desecated remnants of the forest were no welcome sight. Bushes barely holding onto what life remained would dot the ground. While branches held out their haunting wooden fingers out in all directions for some form of release. The wind would russle at the branches. O
  6. [12:16] STORYWEAVER was that something else? What perverse abominations were watching from the shadows. Following them or directing them onwards. Or was it just a trick of the wind. Before long the dried dying greenery gave way to weak darkened leaves. Rotting were they stood; but like the rest of the wood. They would not be able to take that final step to complete their cycle. A path became clear; though it was hard to tell. It stood at the heart of the forest. As they enter the path it would open up into a thick clearing. Or at least one would hope it was a clearing. Something to let them see the sky again. Though a gaze upwards would only show more of that thick haze.
  7. [12:19] ~*~Storyweaver~*~ test
  8. [12:24] Nariel stepped onward. Through the valley of scorch and char. She held the apple sized seed in her hand tightly as her own ashy haze emanating off her skin interacted with the environment around her. She didn’t need a guide for where they were heading. Memory and purpose is what aimed her path ahead. As they entered the dark Ashwood, her wings and markings glowed brightly. Not enough to pierce much of the darkness but to outline her silhouette as she moved through. Looking back to the others around her, Nariel simply stated in a somber greeting. “Welcome to the place I manifested…”
  9. [12:27] Cullen (katarr) || As soon as the group enters the forest, Cullen reaches around his waist so that he could lightly pat along a satchel around the back of his waist. Immediately afterwards, he reaches to wrap his fingers around the hilt of a blade so that he could slowly tug the weapon free from the sheathe and lower it down towards his side. Those eyes of his raise so that he could glance around the location while coming forward. "I didn't envision this place like this whenever you spoke of it, Nariel. What can we expect here in your 'bith' place?"
  10. [12:28] Bear wandered a little ways from the group, paying more mind to the state of the scene then the destination. As unsettling as it was, her expression would be unreadable, or in the slightest, curious. Looking over the group now, she'd search for a familiar head among them all. Immediately her thoughts would be projected into Dragmire's mind, speaking in the native fae tongue. <Think we're prepared? It's..> To Nariel, she would stare, unable to form words for a suitable response.
  11. [12:31] Gyzelle covered her mouth as she followed along behind the others, snorting and shaking her head for a moment,"Death, fire." Sighing softly while her head shifted left and right so she could look around the area as they walked. Her wings flapped every once in awhile when something made her eyes dart towards the shadows
  12. [12:31] Dragmire did *not* appreciate the 'undeath' of the place, his own spiritual paths were offended by it, although he knew it was no fault of the forest itself. It just turned his stomach, honestly. Staying near to Nariel's heel, as they walked, he'd look around to see - well, whatever could be seen. He relied more so on his ears, sight and scent were *not* going to be very helpful today. "I choose to believe it wasn't like this when you came to be, but this is why we are here, yes? To repair this forest?" To let it die or to revive it, either way would be a suiting release in his mind - speaking of his mind, suddenly there were words he did not understand - but he knew them to be words all the same. No one else seemed to immediately react, and the confusion on his face was clear. He looked first to Gyzelle, he knew her to speak telepathically, but she'd never used any language other than common. ... A slightly more suspicious gaze went to the woods around them, and he uttered to himself "..who..?"
  13. [12:34] Dilara , unlike some of her companions, didn’t squint into the dark at the lack of sight. Dilara did in fact see much better in the dark than she ever did in the midst of day - her feline eyes more accustomed to the shadows and the bright outlines of each tree and leaf as far as the centre of her eyes could reach. That was, unless the island was covered in fog. Dilara silently drew her bow in anticipation - the ghostly limb forming at the base of her stump. ‘’Define welcoming - this place reeks of death.’’ Her nose scrunched up as if she had in fact caught a whiff of something rotting in the distance. Perhaps she had, it was yet another thing burdened by her senses. ‘’Can you smell that?’’ She whispered to August at her side. ‘’..Like the very abyss itself.’’ She tread carefully round the back of the group, eyes moving out across their surroundings so that she, with the help of her sight, might pick up on something interesting before it picked up on them.

  15. [12:37] August Shattershell wasn't sad to be off the boat, regardless of the place's ominous airs. Anywhere she didn't risk a drowning death was an improvement, she strongly believed, and didn't think it unreasonable in the least. Staying close to Dara's side, August's eyes nervously glanced at every hint of movement around the group, every slipping shadow. Lycan sight had her about as blessed as Dara, but seemingly much more worried about the fact that not everyone present could claim as much. It smelled like trouble. Trouble, rot and char. "Well, I don't have a basis for comparison..." she replied to her fiancée under her breath, "But there would be something sincerely wrong with me if I didn't smell -something-." It had occurred to August that she had neglected to ask for the exact purpose of their voyage, and by now, she felt it much too late to ask. She carefully listened to Nariel, hoping to pick up every missing piece to the puzzle she could.
  16. [12:38] Will-O (aphestus): (PO is above my head; we will be skipping Jaxxie this round. My post will follow shortly)
  17. [12:41] STORYWEAVER As they progressed through the trail it would beging to branch off and open up in twisted versions of paths. Though one among them seemed the most trodden. Mishapen foosteps were pressed into the moist ground. The area seemed saturated in the corruption that prevailed the whole island. Leaves blackened; would russle. Branches sway. As if weights were being added and removed. Roots twisted out of the ground nearly catching on feet. Or were they reaching for you all. The place was unwelcome; and it's inhabitants didn't like having visitors. Though off in the distance their would be sounds of a struggle. A faint cry to battle; followed by an inhuman wail. The sound of crunching limbs and wood rubbing against wood ominously rang out in the direction they were going.
  18. [12:48] Nariel looked towards Cullen as he spoke his question. Her response stalled briefly as she looked to the faces of the others. “Madness..” Her eyes passed from the bear to Dragmire. “I was ...made by the last efforts of a dying life tree. For not all types of Fae can endure without that connection. But like all Fae.. we are driven to natural balance. What happened here was a catastrophe that predates my being ...I hardly even remember my early life here. So disconnected and angered..One hundred and eighty years later in the land of Hokoth...we found this seed of a life tree...Which has brought us here...With the hope of reseeding this land so the pain and imbalance can be tipped once again back ...” Nariel stopped as her head sharply turned to she sounds of struggle ahead. Her hand quickly blackening and fingers elongating to sharp claw like points as she took steps deeper into the ashen glade closer to the source of dire sounds.

  21. [12:51] Cullen (katarr) || "Madness." The Blood Hunter repeats the response under his breath. Though, there wasn't any particular comfort in the words. Though, as soon as he hears the sounds of battle and the wail from the distance, a hand of Cullen's raises to try and get the group's advancements to slow. "Everyone hear that? COuld be another Banshee, possibly fighting? If I recall your tale, nariel, there was a battle fought here long ago, wasn't there?"
  22. [12:56] Bear continued on 'speaking' to Dragmire in her language, despite the lack of his confusion. <Oh.. I meant the group, you know? Ships are rather simple, but a place such as this? Unnatural.> Slowly her head dipped below her shoulders taking in the scent of the place. The scent of ash and charred wood filled her nose, just enough to get her to snort. As they moved on, the progressively unwelcoming sights were regarded, but with her sensitive ears, she was able to catch the distant noises, making her fur stand on end.
  23. [12:57] Gyzelle flicked an ear one after the other as she walked along, fists clenching off and on with white knuckles while she continued to walk. Every so often her head jerked left or right when a sound or sight drew her attention away from the path. As the Princess spoke the Gryphon's wings flexed and bristled as a shiver ran through her spine,"<That sounds awful...>" Came the growling words as she looked at Dragmire,"<Do you?...>" Attention snapping towards the Fae as she strode off suddenly deeper into the glade,"Death." She stated simply once again before she bound after the others, hissing quietly as she moved.
  24. [13:02] Dragmire looked between the ones speaking, and commented on it. "The forest remembers, and- " He hesitated again as his mind was met with words he didn't understand. "Who is speaking to me? I don't understand." He finally outed the fact that he heard something, he knew he wasn't going insane - and then he heard Gyzelle as well. "Someone is speaking to me, but I don't understand what's being said." He'd follow after Nariel. "The forest seems to remember." He thought they might be hearing the ghosts of the past - including himself with the talking he seemed to keep hearing, not realizing who it was.
  25. [13:04] Dilara stared at the rotting corpse of a frog they passed before her eyes found August. ‘’Well.. figuratively speaking.’’ She, in fact, never had the pleasure of visiting any of the layers known to the demons and devils - but she had seen enough misfortune on this plane to know that something which was meant to be far worse, to be a place she’d not want to go. Dilara skipped over a couple of roots entwining from under their feet and tossed August a smirk. ‘’Well, perhaps if you try and rotate your head at a -’’ She didn’t get to finish that joke, or as much as react to Dragmire’s confusion. The call of battle was a sound very known to the former commander. One she had heard many a times before. Dilara’s grip on her bow tightened and she whipped her fiery gaze to the an barion. ‘’Nariel!’’ She hissed. If a warning, or question, could be anyone’s guess. The queen had advanced into the depths of the forest and not one to leave an ally facing danger alone, Dilara followed wearily.

  29. [13:05] August Shattershell breathed out a discrete sigh of relief at explanations that soon came without need for her probing, but the peace of mind was short-lived. She tensed up at the wail and nearly noises, and her ears would have twitched were they currently as long, pointy and furry as they could be under different circumstances. Fingers tightened their grip around August's plain but sturdy wooden cudgel. Her teeth gritted and, beneath the fabric of her clothes, arcana-charged ink crackled with energy along the surface of her skin. "Oh, I'm not getting caught in another fight with a banshee unprepared." she muttered at Cullen's remark. That lesson had been learned, August thought to herself as she searched the bag at her waist for a length of colorful cloth she proceeded to wrap around her head and, most importantly, over her ears. "Those who can speak telepathically..." A gaze was furtively thrown at Dara. "...Have my explicit permission to do so. Everyone else..." August grimaced. "...Well, just signal clearly if you need m

  31. [13:15] ~*~Storyweaver~*~ Mar'El was backing up of the fiends with a loud clunk and scrape of a sword, off it's skull with the company of Six. The thing hissed and it's clawed fingers went up taking a swipe at the calf of it's attacker. Sixpence hadn't even known she was getting a back attack busy swacking the one in front if her with a bat made from her friends leg bet those spikes hopefully would hurt so good! A blood curdling squack went mumbled under the water from the forced dip of it's head and yet the creature tried to crawl closer grabbing at ankles trying to trip the fey up or at least get in a good bite. The better to crawl up you my dear. Taia was the most boisterous of the bunch hopping and fluttering in the air rounding around her attacker trying to confuse it with a mighty screech that would be its war cry. Seemed to be quite the success too as the body went limp bubbling the last of it's air to the surface of the water. The cracked mannequin like fey swung the club fiercely towards the fiends tail and take out it's

Weapon indeed, it spiked tail lashed out towards the already tattered wings trying to pull it back to the ground...nimbly bimbly thing and it cursed at the attacker in whatever tongue it spoke The three over time became aware of the new comers and passed on from one to the other to be weary not sure if it be friends or more foes!
  33. [13:15] Will-O (aphestus): (SKip me this round; Nariel's turn)
  34. [13:30] Nariel ‘s iridescent eyes sharply pointed across the grotto. Only a faint moment fixating on the sight of the once great life tree that stretched over the glowing pool below it. She didnt have time to relive the memories that the sight brought forth as her eyes next fell upon the silhouettes of other winged Fae in distress. Her expression seemed taken from her as she realised there was indeed Fae presence here..and the look of brief horror to see all too familiar terror fiends snapping at them. “Death has come to defend its grip on what remains of this land...We must take this ground before we can plant the seed...Attack the horrors..but be wary the Fae may or may not have their minds about them to understand our purpose…I’ll make my way to the tree..But let nothing through to the seed..or all hope will be lost…” With that Nariel’s wings unfolded behind her as she moved ahead and to the right to start approaching the pool and once living great tree Ep’Way.

  36. [13:33] Cullen (katarr) || Yup, he was just gonna assume those things were Banshee's. He had learned a valuable lesson from fighting these things. Reaching into the satchel around his waist, he tugs free a pair of wax earplugs and presses them into his ears with a light twisting of the items to secure them in place just as Nariel seems to instruct the others to attack. As the earplugs are secured, he charges forward, boots splashing within the mud as he charges towards one of the shadowy figures to flank with the unknown Banshee as he attempts to bring his blade down upon one of the figures. 45. [13:57] Dragmire head words he recognized that time, but couldn't pin a telepathic voice to a face right away- things were getting hairy already. These weren't just memories of battle, it was a *real* Battle. This time, he took a different approach. "Nariel." His voice was calm, but stern. "I will protect you as you do what needs to be done." He'd be tanking this time around. He kept his gaze on the area surrounding her, trying to keep tabs on anything that might come at her.
  46. [13:58] Dilara hadn’t come at all as prepared as either August or Cullen, but securing her bow between her teeth as to not lose her spectral limb, tore off a strand of fabric from her garnement. ‘’Se’ond bloo’y ‘ess ‘is voya’e..’’ Her muffled voice muttered as she strapped it around her head and tied a knot to the side, leaving her pointed ears covered the best she could. She had learnt not only once, but twice now, the scream of a banshee. She’d not wish that fate upon anyone. Wrapping her fingers around her bow, Dilara drew an arrow from the quiver at her back and nocked it against her finger. Spectral arm quivering in anticipation when she pulled it back until thumb lined with her cheek, she aimed and let loose. Cullen could likely feel the whip of it, darting past his advancing form, to settle on the fiend he was facing. >We have your back!< Dilara’s voice sent into his head. (F1)

  49. [14:02] August Shattershell nodded approvingly at Dara's own form of ear protection, and darted close behind Cullen when he charged. The vulnerability of being human was still all too fresh in August's memory. It made her very concerned for the other man. Knowing it to be pointless to shout out and signal her presence to someone else who had the foresight to protect their hearing, August let out a battle cry for no one but herself as she lunged at her target, bo staff whistling through the air as it came down in a vertical strike. 52. [14:07] ~*~Storyweaver~*~ the fey went into defense mod but once joined in battle against the common foe they relaxed enough to continue their quest of ridding the place of the fiends. Avoiding hitting Cullen the pack of fey turn on the only one left in the area (or is it!?) could it be this easy? Maybe! The spry beast clawing around turned on the newest attacker grabbing at Cullen's leg while the tail tried to come around and knock the man off their feet and prepare to take a bite! Its insistence and reptilian like movements made the arrow sail threateningly into the water under it..lucky fiend foot! But also helped move right the hell into Augusts attack in which it screeches in the direction of the clubber trying to decide if it wished to let go of it's previous target or take after that one. That of course seems to only leave it vulnerable for further attack and that they do. The fey cast a hopefully powerful chose spell as they all cast the same thing.

  64. [14:21] Nariel moved swiftly as she sprinted towards the tree with seed tucked in her arms. Her wings aiding her climb up the black ash and soot covered hill. Once she reached the top rise of the hill her wings took over and flapped quickly in an iridescent blur of indigo carrying her momentum off the hill and over the glowing pool under the foot of the tree. She landed in a careless splash up to her waist in the water holding the seed out in front of her. Nari looked over to the others briefly before closing her eyes tightly letting her markings upon her skin to burn brightly to life. Her lips parted as her words started to cast the ritual to awaken the seed of Hope. “For the wrongs never made right, Goddess shine upon this seed this night and banish this madness and strife. May we bring this undieing land of the hope of life….”
  65. [14:24] Cullen (katarr) brings his blade up from the strike upon the creature. Before he could prepare another swing though, he feels the parting air of the arrow swishing past him. He briefly glances over the should towards Dara to offer a shallow nod in recognition to her words within his head. As August comes up beside him, he takes a step back from the weird creature thing and lifts his blade diagonally as he attempts to bring the tip of the blade back down upon that creature to try and stab at it s Nariel begins her ritual.

  68. [14:28] Bear would give Dragmire a quick glance before tagging after Nariel. The others handled themselves well enough, making it all the more convincing to take to standing to the opposite of Nariel, guarded and searching the edges of the forest opening for other unpleasant surprises.
  69. [14:30] Dragmire was as close as he felt he could get without disturbing Nariel's ritual, but his power would be felt now - pulsing slowly under his skin. As part of his protection over her, he was 'thickening his skin' to help dull any attacks that might come that way. It might not help much, but it might keep him from roaring out and jarring her concentration.
  70. [14:31] Dilara >Leave some for me, will you!< Dilara quipped at August and Cullen both when she, with the quick reflexes of someone whom had wielded their bow for years on end; drew another arrow, nocked and let it loose in rapid succession. The arrow whistled through the air to the fiend’s unfallen comrade, all the while she advanced a little closer, keeping a clear angle of their enemy at all times and nearing her allies, should they need healing.

  72. [14:32] August Shattershell didn't get to hear the hit connect with its target, something she honestly felt a little robbed about, but felt the impact travel up her arms and vibrate inside her chest in a very satisfactory manner. A grin twitched her lips, stepping out of Cullen's way just in time to allow his blade to swing at the creature freely. Whistling at the devastating blow, she poked at the fallen fiend's remains with the tip of her staff before carefully scanning the surrounding darkness with her gaze. The fabric tightly bound over her ears made attempts at communication fruitless, yet she stood between Cullen and the unknown faes before them in a clearly non-aggressive, yet definitely defensive stance. 74. [14:36] ~*~Storyweaver~*~ that stab landed and landed good...the crackle of shoulder was so very strong that not only did it snap where the blade colided on it's husk the head popped and rolled away to be hidden in the rocks somewhere jaw agape in its unspoken horror. and even so while it was down the remnants were hacked by August ..yep that one was definitely dead. It wasn't long after that satisfying death that there was a forest wide wail, grinding wood would be to follow and a shake in the ground below. This must be good right?! Our adventurers were soon to find out!
  75. [14:39] STORYWEAVER With the creatures fallen the Duskwood Fae would suddenly take a step back. Improvised weapons at the ready. Before the one names Sixpence would gaze over toward Ep'Way. The sight of strangers so close to the tree filled them all with a mix of fear and anxiety. Each one shambling over on broken bodies to get to their creator in time. Though at the sight of the banshee they would pause again; eyeing her curiously before muttering in a bastardized Fae tongue. <Awa- f-om Ep'way>
  76. [14:50] Nariel opened her eyes to look at the weary and broken trio of Fae approaching her with an expression of empathy and duty. She slowly shook her head in response to their shattered words. “I can’t….for I was made for this...and you were made to protect...and you have...For so long but I beg you to persist and help us…” Just as she finished her words, Nariel approached the base of Ep’Way as her blackened fingers clenched around the glowing seed. Reeling her arm back to swiftly push it ahead to punch at the brittle trunk of the dead lifetree. Hoping to penetrate through and deposit the seed of hope with in.
  77. [14:57] Cullen (katarr) turns his gaze onto the other Fae that were within the area as they begun to approach Nariel and the ground around them seems to quake. His head turns onto August and Dara then to nod towards his fellow combatants in acknowledgment. Slowly, he begins to move, making his way back towards the small mound with his blade still at the ready. The eyes continuing to scan the forest around them, staying at the ready for anything that might emerge.
  78. [15:03] Dragmire moved in closer now that she was pushing the seed into the tree. As the fae came closer, he put his hands up in a way that he hoped would project that the meant no harm. "We're trying to help..." The ground was shaking and the world threatening to fall apart beneath them only encouraged his worry - knowing somewhere in the back of his mind things were about to get real in this area real quick.
  79. [15:03] Dilara hooked her bow across her back the moment each fiend made their return to the abyss and looked on, as the fae approached Nariel, in silent weariness. Making sure that August was unharmed, she wrapped her fingers around the hilt of her sword and turned, listening to the short exchange of words. Unlike the time she had spent in knowledge of the elven language, her fae was limited, only strengthened with what she had picked up at the little time spent on Valesk. >I think they’re telling her to back off.< Dilara offered to August and Cullen’s head. She felt her body stiffen at the sound of shrieking in the distance. Dilara had been taught the hard way to always find suspicion in all strangers. Screams of agony, that was certainly the very basis of such vigilance. She brandished her sword in front of her form in preparation. ‘’Nariel, whatever you’re about to do, be quick about it - I fear we’re about to have company!’’
  80. [15:10] August Shattershell frowned, staff held up in both hands like a shield between her and the small group of faes. She was fully intent on being a living wall. "Yeah, I got the feeling it was something like that." she reflexively muttered in reply to Dara's telepathic missive, although pointlessly so. With a scoff, she loosened the cloth blindings around one of her ears. Being half protected was still better than nothing. "They... Don't look very friendly, Nariel. Should we be worried?" [Keep tanking up]

That bear was reluctant to let go and would only hold tight, even if it meant spending a day picking splinters out of her jaws. The bear would groan before seating herself there and using both paws to try and crush the fiend's head between them. [Rolling @ F7]

Ignoring the possible hit of lightning against skin, she pulled her scimitar up from the muddy waters and as she turned, slashed it down across the back of one of the fiends. (fiend 6)

"Oh, hell no." she blurted out in a sudden jab of panic and, grateful for the sudden moment of situational awareness, ran back to the higher, drier ground that surrounded the life tree. The words that came out of Dara's mouth were so perfectly in synch with her own thoughts on the same matter that she briefly wonder if she'd accidentally broadcasted it into her fiancée's head somehow and, devoting her attention to the same target, aimed a swiping blow at the fiend crawling towards the tree in an attempt to smack it away.

Stepping closer to the tree protectively she watched F7 scurry across swiftly towards her. Taking on a hunched over pose. Nariel let out a challenging growl. Showing the pointed canine teeth the Banshee rarely ever showed. From her parted lips a bone quaking howl rushed forth. Attempting to instill a crippling fear in to the horrors approaching. (Banshee’s Scream) Meanwhile the vines from the sprouting seed has engulfed the towering remains of the dead Life tree. From its branches the vines started to bloom iridescent flowers to greet the falling rain above. The rain had pushed the looming haze of ash down and exposed the night starry sky compleat with bright moon watching overhead. The moonlight seemed to fill the grotto with soft hues of blue. Banishing more and more of the shadows back into the forest.

Watching in sheer astonishment when the fiend she had been trying to fight kept returning to the seed, no matter how much of its own weight it was dragging behind, Dilara took a step forth and despite it being very much dead, raised her arm and viciously stabbed the pointy end of her sword into its back. ‘’And /stay/ down!’’ She snapped in vexation, one which was unfortunately short-lived when the scream of Nariel burst through the fabric that, all things considered, didn’t give the feline any sort of advantage. Dilara stumbled back with a caterwaul, or perhaps it was simply the echo of the high-pitched scream still echoing inside her head, and did her best to cup one ear from the sound. Just like the few other times she had been caught in a banshee scream, she could feel the warmth of her own blood trickling down her neck. ‘’Fuck - STOP!’’

  238. [18:40] Nariel winched as she took notice the ill effect her scream seemed to have universally. Lucky the others where inept on pressing through. The familiar rumble below their feet was an unwelcomed sight as more fiends seemed to unearth. But were stopped. Roped by fiberous roots and taken back to be reclaimed by the newly born Life tree asserted its presence over the troubled land. Nari let out a loud and happy cheer as the area was cleared of fiends and the light of the moon overhead was shining brightly upon the grotto. The heavy rain seemed to lighten or perhaps it was just remaining drips falling from the canopy above. The Trio of Ashwood fae circling the tree of life looked over their own limbs as vines seemed to snake around their broken and exposed parts. Tightening and shaping to mend the broken and fill the gaps they wore like scars. Their posture starting to right themselves as the breath of nature was once again apart of this grotto. There was a moment of stun between them as the Ashwood Fae looked from
  239. [18:40] Nariel themselves and then around their grotto as though Life doesn't just suddenly explode. But the haunting feeling of this place feels somewhat lifted. More and more flowers bloom over the vine covered trunk of the tree. Even the ash and soot smell seemed to be washed away with the rain and replaced with a smell not unlike fertile and freshly tilled soil.
  240. [18:46] Cullen (katarr) lifts his blade, ready to stab at the next creature to appear from the ground. Yet, before he could, those vines reach out to wrap around the fiends to drag them under the ground. The eyes of the Human turn from left to right, searching around the area as if expecting there to be more of a threat to emerge from around them. When such a threat doesn't seem to come, the sword lowers and eventually raises to sheathe along his back to holster the blade. He begins to turn, performing a 360 as he approaches the trunk of the tree. There is a brief moment to glance towards the unfamiliar Fae before giving them a slight nod in recognition. "It looks as if we were victorious this day."
  241. [18:50] Bear was eager for the next fiend to sprout out of the ground. And they did, at least until they were dragged back down. The bear looked and simply blinked and seated herself where she sat. The shift of smell would take her be surprise more than expected, bringing a sense of.. sheer relief.
  242. [18:51] Dragmire 's voice boomed as August smashed the fiend's skull "WELL DONE!" He had no clue how loud he was - or how terrifying that boom may have been despite the words being kind. As more tried to emerge, Dragmire thrust his hand out, a large, solid hammer sparking to life before both hands gripped the haft and lifted above his head. "NO MORE!" He announced - but then the Life Tree agreed with him and shooped them back down before he could play Whack-a-fiend. He stood there, waiting a moment longer... and then would finally dismiss the Hammer back from whence it came.
  243. [18:56] Dilara was happy that she wore her pendant still, hidden from view under the collar of her dress, but providing her with enough support to hold her form even when her focus began to waver. Her eyes were closed long after silence had settled, though of course she could not hear it, and her one hand still cupping her bleeding ear. ‘’Fuck’s .. sake.’’ Dilara added again in a mutter whilst she stumbled over to the edge of the waters where she could sit down. Her head possibly rung.

  245. [19:02] August Shattershell 's ears were still tightly bandaged, and she was glad that was the case when Dragmire's loud praise made itself heard even though the muffling. She grimaced, unraveling her makeshift and shoddy turban as she rushed to Dara's side. "Yeah, thanks." she muttered, a little half-heartedly. Her priorities lay elsewhere, as she scrutinized the damage done to her fiancée, concern visible on her traits at the sight of trickling blood. "Can anyone heal?" she bellowed out, clearly mouthing out each syllable in hope even the deafened may understand. "You did some collateral there, Nariel." August sighed out, before her gaze drifted up to the tree. "...I guess we did what we came here for... Right?"
  246. [19:03] ~*~Storyweaver~*~ there were no further threats from fiends to the adventurers, while the others talked amongst themselves it was as if the fey they'd met at the beginning began to replenish themselves...come into themselves remembering who and just WHAT they are. It will take years for nature to reclaim this land...but the new generation of Fae that will manifest at the foot of this life tree...will have a purpose once again…. 253. [19:22] STORYWEAVER As they would gather in the pool; if they so desired. The extend of the work done would become evident. The vine that had sprouted as a seedling was now thick and embracing the trunk's full length. Roots dug into it; tapping into the trees own. Before the slow pulsing of it's life would start to radiate through the area. A bout of thunder could be heard far off. Bringing with it a storm to wash away the ash and fox. Allowing the new life to take hold were it was needed. And remove the stain of undeath from that which needed it. The three fae had backed away from the group. Their own bodies twisting and malformed. Would be showing signs of repair. As vines; similar to the ones on the tree. Embraced them; and helped to hold their doll like figures together. They were speaking amongst themselves. In low tones; while other eyes peered in from the clearing. Gathering some of the other fae to the area; what ones remained. 256. [19:24] Cullen (katarr) glances onto that tree before them for several moments, staring at the gnarled, and blackened wooden trunk. Lowering his face, he reaches for the wax earplugs and tugs them from the ears to place them within a satchel that hung from his back then. Buttoning the satchel before patting it. The act was done just in time to hear the words of gratitude from the Banshee and for his gaze to drift over towards her. For a brief moment, he lowers himself into a crouch so that he could crouch along the edge of the water. Slowly, the hand reaches within, dipping the bare skin within the liquid as if he was expecting it to burn him. And yet, no burn seems to come. There is a brief closing of the eyes followed by a sighing under the breath as he moves to set his feet within the water and wade his way over towards the Banshee. As he does so, a hand reaches out in an attempt to set along her waist as he leans forward to set a kiss along the woman's forehead. "Of course, it looks as though things will eventually be set
  257. [19:24] Cullen (katarr): right here?" As he speaks, he turns to face the group for a brief moment to observe the recovering bodies of the Fae before leaning forward to whisper towards the Banshee before him.
  258. [19:28] Bear glanced back at Dragmire with a confused expression. She couldn't talk per-say, but still managed to communicate telepathically. It would also appear that the headache might have caused her to forget the little details in life. Instead of using common, she would once again speak in her fae tongue. <Did you say something? I saw your lips moving.> And then she would look to Nariel and ask in the same language, the voice tired, but hopeful. But after Cullen finished speaking to her. <Perhaps we'll return to see it someday? In a better state..> The bears' ears fell flat against her head. Ringing ears, a headache, and a mouth possibly riddled with splinters- she would take up the request. She lifted herself and moved closer to the other fae. Not immediately ready nor willing to try to converse with them just yet.
  259. [19:30] Dragmire had become a little bit more aware of the fact that his deafness was present as he found himself trying to read Nariel's lips. He had enough skill at it that his brows went up by the end, no small amount of shock taken from what she had just said. A tired smile rested on his face, and he'd incline his head briefly before walking a little further into the water - taking a knee before the tree. "The eyes of the Goddess are upon us..." He intoned - though not loudly like before. "Her Judgment rings true..." Although it was likely Cybelle that had her hand in all this, Naevius certainly did watch as well. "The flames of Cybelle touch all... burning bright and true..." Spiritual Dragmire is Spiritual. The bear's words touched his mind again, but this time he had a fair idea of who was behind it. Sadly, he still couldn't understand Fae-speak and let out a kind of unintelligent "Eh?"
  260. [19:32] Dilara looked up when August suddenly appeared at her side and despite the pain, managed to form a timid smile. ‘’Sorry darling - I fear I cannot hear you.’’ She tried to joke at the forming of words that, all things considered, Dilara knew perfectly well hadn’t been aimed to her. She reached for their arm to give her a reassuring squeeze, then turned to look towards the group. Nariel speaking towards August were noted, yet she couldn’t hear a word. ‘’What? What is she saying?’’ The glow out the corner of her eyes caught her attention. Dilara turned back and stared down at the waters that had since the battle cleared; leaving it with a similar draw as the river by An Ri. Powerful magic coursed through these lands. She could feel it prickling her skin. ‘’Darling..’’ Dilara reached out and, using August to pull herself up, she tread down into the lake.

  262. [19:37] August Shattershell gladly helped Dara up on her feet and, knowing full well that she couldn't hear a thing, did her best to wordlessly guide her to bathe into the pool without forcefully dunking her in it. She doubted that would fly very well even under the best of circumstances, given the manticore's aversion for water. Her loose and messy hair already soaked and clinging to her face from the downpour now that there was no bundle of cloth to protect it anymore, August pushed it out of her eyes and gave Nariel a tired, but warm smile. "Ah- I'm only happy to be helpful." she truthfully replied, a little bashful. "I'm glad it happened to be for something this important to you." She considered joining everyone in the pool, but quickly realized with arrested surprise that she was completely unscathed. She looked in wonder at the cracked and splintered wooden staff she still held in her hand, and hummed thoughtfully.
  263. [19:41] Nariel smiled warmly to Cullen’s approach and took the kiss to her forehead graciously. Catching the Fae tongued voice in her head. Nari’s eyes move directly for the bear. Responding vocaly in return. “I hope so too..Though our return is quite problematic. The ship was damaged so badly and Pirates are surely looking for us…..” Nari grew silent for a moment as she thought of the troubles ahead.
  264. [19:45] Cullen (katarr): "In a minute." Replies the man with a faint smile as he leans away from Nariel. His attention turns to settle upon the group that was quickly joining them within the pools of water. "Yes, returning back to the Island may prove... problematic."
  265. [19:47] STORYWEAVER Ever the listeners the Fae were; picking up on their words. One of the trio; Sixpence. Would pip in without much issue. "Hey so..We can help you there.." She took on a smile more characteristic of Fae. Though still rather mishapen; and now with vines crossing her face. Holding it together. The other two would hop over to the water. And motion in. well aware of the way Sixpence spoke. "And usually it's pretty dangerous for non Fae.. But were pretty sure the old ones ways were ment for this..So....If you want.." The porcelain face cracked; as she forced it to smile. Though the vines would weave in and help hold the face together. "It will let you return...to a place of power for our kind..but certainly closer and better then beeing here.
  266. [19:49] Bear lifted her shoulders in a shrug. <I could get a head-start on those pirates.. More hungry than tired anyway.> Her head rolled back to Dragmire, who.. gave her answer, not one she could really work with. <Nevermind. We'll talk later.> Attention quickly shifted to the other fae. Still nothing to address them with, but would wait for the group to discuss that matter.
  267. [19:52] Dilara had left her weapon with August, or rather, by their feet - and with murmured words of gratitude for the aid she finally allowed herself to sit down. It was not often one would see this cat willingly enter anything other than a tub but, for the sake of her hearing, she was quick to unfold her legs under her form and let the water completely submerge her in silent echoes. Her eyes remained tightly shut, the odd toe breaking up the surface, and arms gently swaying to and fro to keep her underwater. Finally, poked her nose out the water and glanced to Nariel. ‘’Perhaps we ought to build a sled with wings.’’ She offered with little indifference to the odd request. ‘’I could fly us back.’’ Her lips spread into a cheeky grin and only then, did Dilara find herself. ‘’Oh, why I’ve got my hearing back!’’ She turned her head to look at August as if -she- was the reason for her treatment. Bursting with newfound energy, much thanks to the pool, Dilara waded closer to the femme. ‘’The
  268. [19:52] Dilara water’s lovely dear, you really should try it.’’ She attempted to coax her down the pool but was interrupted at the words from Sixpence. ‘’Dangerous?’’ Dilara’s hands pushed water as she swept back. ‘’I’m fairly sure we can all agree by now that sounds like tea-time. Well, what is this suggestion, then?’’ (This will be my post out as I really need to sleep. Dara will just swim about the pool a bit! hahah)
  269. [19:56] Dragmire 's ears ringing to the key of C-sharp finally seemed to ebb enough that he could hear words properly, and he slowly made to stand again. "Phew... What a time this has been." He finally said, and as the Fae offered to help, he'd turn to Nariel. "We don't have much of a choice, I suppose. The Island's close enough that we could arrive at the An Ri." Which made total sense in his mind. "Is there anything I can offer to help?" He had energy now, enough to help supply the trip home if need be.
  270. [20:01] STORYWEAVER The Dusk wood fae let out a soft laugh in response. "Yes usually you would come out as little more then a dying ember. But we learned a long time ago how to keep animals safe. Not as big as a bear..but well.." She giggled against looking to the Polar animal. "Anywho; if you all get in the pool of water. It will be your Medium for you trip." Sixpence would look to the other fae after that. Before one among them stood at the edge of the water and crouched down to put her hands in. "Laast chaaance.." She said in almost a musical tone. It seems the Fae of the wood were already starting to feel like their former selves. "Going once...."

She listened keenly to Sixpence's offer, and surveyed the rest of the group for opinions. "That... Sounds better than being stranded here, doesn't it?" she tentatively voiced. "I mean- Even if it can't take us all the way back to Valesk, we could at least get to shake the pirates off our tails from that point on. If needed, Dara and I could fly off to get more help." Her mind seemingly already made up and prompted into committing even more by what seemed like an impending countdown, August braced herself and stepped into the pool.

  276. [20:10] Nariel looked to Sixpence as she spoke to the group and considered her words. “They speak of the slip. The Fae of old.. Before the age of mortals used Life trees as beacons to traverse through nature. So few life trees remain in this realm..I fear you three will be destroyed ...” It then hit her as if she understood. You want to be reclaimed ...so you can remanifest…” Nariel smiled. “Smart” Nariel looked over to the others and nodded her head in agreement with the plan. “Let’s go home..” Nariel looked to Dragmire and smiled. “All guide out path to An Ri...your strength is welcomed. For our hope floats along the currents… Its like hitting a moving target from a distance…” Nariel’s wings rised behind her back as water droplets dripped from the silk like shimmering wings. “I’m ready..” She said to the Ashwood Fae. “So little time left to my kindred...I hope to see you once again after you manifest….”
  277. [20:16] Cullen (katarr) || As the other Fae seem to mention a way home, his head turns towards the creatures for a brief moment then to Nariel as she seems to explain the magic that was being discussed.
