  11. ---
  12. >for Katie, it really hits home - the entire town resembles the sleepy suburbia she grew up in, before merging with the smaller city where she got her first, and only job
  13. >the suburbs themselves appear more rundown than she remembers - there's a constant, dirty snowfall, coating the entire area in a beige haze
  14. >most likely the result of the distant factory complex that dominates part of the horizon
  15. >the layout of the town is maze-like, and easy to get lost in, due to the limited visibility
  16. >monsters here are crude parodies of the people she saw back home
  17. >the "Uncle Bobs" appear as deformed, vaguely-masculine figures with enormous beerguts, grotesquely muscular, arms flayed down from the middle of the upper arm, resembling a "T-shirt tan", their heads is an enormous mouth with bloated, ruptured lips, filled with rows upon rows of jagged, rotting teeth, while the rest of their heads are dominated by enormous mustaches that now double up as eyebrows
  18. >they wear filthy wifebeaters and shorts, the front of the latter is open to reveal a cancerous, swollen penis with as shriveled up scrotum, and their legs are short, stubby, and resemble pig legs, while their hands are pairs of snow-shovel sized, rusted spatulas, forming pincers
  19. >the "Aunt Flos" are their feminine counterparts - dressed in gaudy, crass "cougar wear", wearing peroxide-blonde wigs with faces completely carved up and covered in large, infected stitches, which form crude smiley faces (and doused in prostitute-level make-up), their feet fused to their high heels (with the shoe heel itself "broken through", embedded in their soles), and tendril-like arms that end in "hands" made out of hypodermic needles - some leaking puss, others leaking botox, fat, or drugs
  20. >both kind patrol their "homes" (that she has to enter to progress), and attack her upon sight with an oddly pleasant-sounding cry, and approach her in a way that makes it look like they just want to give her a hug
  21.
  22. Cont.
  23. -
  24. >the bosses of the home are are two fold, and appear in an oversized, decayed replica of her old family home
  25. >one is a pair of shadows - one male, the other female -, known as the "Whirligig", who randomly show up in the rooms she's investigating (first appearing in the kitchen, and last in the master bedroom), who never directly attack her, but rather, cause miniature storms in the rooms, that cause items and furniture to go flying about in a whirlwind, and can hit her in mid-flight, forcing her to hide, and leave behind a mess, forcing her to sort through the mess they left behind to find key items - the shadows are implied by herself to represent her frequently absent, busy parents, who let her be raised by the television
  26. >this brings us to the true final boss of the level: an enormous, old "idiot box" with insect-like antennae, and a broken screen that has multiple rows of teeth-like shards (that somehow still display static), and a cavernous, deep "throat", from which, as its final attack, the upper body of a generic television anchorwoman would appear, her body resembling a hologram, thanks to having the same, colored "graininess" of an old TV screen, if you watch it up close, with VCR decay, scan lines and flicker, who tries to pull Katie into the set, while appearing increasingly deranged (and displayed in increasingly higher quality), as each of her attacks is rebutted, until she resembles a shallow parody of what Katie looked like as a human, before the TV explodes in a fireball, causing her to flicker out from existence
  27. >with the "Idiot Box" defeated, Katie exits from the house into an unfamiliar neighborhood - a lead up to the next area: the School
  28. >the School building resembles an old, '60s style, Brutalist monstrosity, bearing a closer resemblance to factory - heavily deteriorated and menacing in appearance, as if it could collapse (or pounce on some hapless newcomer) at any second
  29.
  30. Cont.
  31. -
  32. >upon entering, all exits are sealed
  33. >the inside of the school is not as decayed as the outside, but it's still dingy
  34. >the lamps aren't working, and what little can be seen from the outside is still hazy, yet, the building is well illuminated
  35. >the layout of the school is similar to that of a 3D maze
  36. >there are four type of enemies
  37. >"Strumpets" resemble uniformed female students with skirts resembling tattered umbrellas, blackened feet, svelte figures (with some showing the beginning of a bust), clad in oversized, ink-and-blood-splotched white shirts, their hands composed of drawing and drafting implements, such as pens, pencils, drawing compasses, ruling pens, scissors, and so on, most which is moldy and rusty
  38. >their faces are coated by mops of tattered, disheveled hair, which they only reveal when attacking: blood red lips and sharpened, saw-blade like teeth, with two empty holes for eyes - they attack screaming, often alerting others nearby, and start cackling when they attack in groups
  39. >"Harlots" are the teachers - thin, but shapely figures, dressed in pin-striped pencil skirts and shoulder-padded suits, wearing tattered nylons and waddling knock-kneed due being forced to walk on their broken ankles, their ridiculously high-heeled shoes scraping across the ground, while their hands - armed with a single, leaded measuring rod - are "adorned" by lengthened nails that dig into their fingers, their hair tied into a bun so tight that it damn nearly scalps them, pulling back the skin on their faces, forcing them to wear a permanent snarl, their noses resembling that of a pigs, their ears cut off and taped over, and their eyes - hid behind dirty, cracked square glasses - are rendered blind by a nasty, inflammating infection
  40. >they give away their presence by casually clearing their throats, and once Katie turns towards them, they begin hobbling towards her, shrieking with rage and flailing their upper body around to reach her with the rod
  41.
  42. Cont.
  43. -
  44. >the other two monsters are singular entities
  45. >the "Janitor" is a large, ball-like creature, with wide, stumpy legs and enormous arms, and a flat face (apart from his pointy, L-shaped nose and sunken-in eyes) which takes up most of his front - his hallway-filling size only allows him to shuffle forward, but even that causes tremors across the building, and he moves fast
  46. >like the "Whirligig" from the suburbs, he's more of a passive environmental hazard - in the same way the boulder from the first Indiana Jones was -, forcing Katie to hide in the Classrooms, side hallways or locker (with the latter two presenting the risk of running into a Strumper or Harlot unprepared)
  47. >upon visiting the school's basement, he becomes a "boss", but only as a stationary environmental hazard - cooped up in front an enormous furnace, he keeps blocking the light that reveals the safe pathways, and occasionally swipes at Katie in a clumsy, "shoo-ing" manner
  48. >the true final boss is the "Dean" - initially appearing as a tiny, fat, bald man with a featureless face, sitting behind a comparatively large bureau, at the far side of a room with large windows
  49. >approaching him, however, reveals an "Ames room" like perspective trickery - he's far further away, and far LARGER than initially seen, becoming mountain-sized by the time Katie's close enough to prompt him into action
  50. >he also starts growing a smile - small at first, before going from a smirk, through a toothy, lecherous grin to a rictus one
  51. >he attacks by splitting his bureau in half, and trying to stomp on Katie without getting out from his chair - growing increasingly tired, begins to shrink, until he's "only" the size of a wardrobe - revealing his open fly, displaying a grotesquely swollen scrotum, with a comparatively tiny penis, near-completely hidden by foreskin
  52. >he is defeated by a kick to the balls, which causes his entire being to pop, coating everything in semen, fat and puss - and revealing a door behind him
  53.
  54. Cont.
  55. -
  56. >the final area is the "Studio" - resembling the inside of a big steel-and-glass office building, with large, open internal spaces (cluttered with office supplies and broken furniture and equipment), and pane glass walls that reveal nondescript city skylines - looking more like background props, as they're inconsistent, with a different one on each side of the building
  57. >at this point, progress is made by scaling the building, going higher and higher - with each level becoming more pristine and cleaner, but also, more stage-like and unnatural, with awkward lighting that leaves some areas in darkness, while blinding Katie in other parts of the room
  58. >the enemies here are all the same - vaguely humanoid, black figures dressed in suits, with their only defining features being their gash-like mouths, filled with jagged teeth and a ridged, tendril-like tongue
  59. >their movement is jittery - while their legs are steady, their upper body is freaking out, like a bad 3D model, with arms and head flailing and the torso behaving like jello - they approach with a jittery, disjointed walk, while playing a short, distorted clip of audio that appears to be stuck - quiet at first, and sounding increasingly closer to the ear as they approach, before becoming ear-splitting when they're right on top of her - ripping and tearing into her clothing and hair
  60. >however, this, rather than injuring her, strips away her demonic appearance, until she finally resembles her human self, the day she died - each tear also leaves behind a coating of white power, which trails behind her for a while, before dissipating until the next tear - a mixture of powder and cocaine
  61. >before she could reach the top, the building abruptly collapses, and she comes two, unscathed, in the burning wreckage, which had formed a maze, filled with mishmashes made of the monsters from the previous stages, with their details fading in-and-out of static, often leaving only their silhouettes
  62.
  63. Cont.
  64. -
  65. >aiding her in this area is the "Fireman" - literally just a muscular, old-fashioned fireman wielding an ax and wearing a rather familiar gas mask, who would occasionally clear obstacles (or enemies) for her, if she approaches him while he lumbers across the maze - however, relying on him too much will eventually cause him to turn against her, attacking her whenever he's near by, creating yet another hazard
  66. >the final boss likes in the center of the maze, in an eerily dark room, with floor and ceiling composed entire of old television sets, all displaying no-signal test patterns, but emitting little light, and because of that, the room is shrouded in darkness, it's exact dimensions unknown
  67. >the boss is the malformed, demonic, insect-like version of Katie herself, attacking her from the dark before retreating into it, making it difficult to land a hit on her, especially when she makes dodge-rolling difficult by breaking the screens of the sets making up the floor, coating everything in shards
  68. >however, this also begins to restrict her area of movement, as she won't move beyond the broken screens, eventually circling herself in, and making her easy pickings - her head shattering like glass, causing the rest of her body to crumble into shards, that turn into electric sparks halfway towards the ground
  69. >afterwards, one by one, the sets turn off, truly coating the area in darkness and silence - the latter of which is broken by quiet, relieved sobs, then, the crackling of glass and heavy breathing, with the approaching creaks and thuds of heavy boots
  70. >a gloved hand emerges from darkness, offering itself for leverage
  71. >cut to black
  72.
  73.
  74. Aaand, that's Katie's story done. I'm going to do Tom's in the next thread, and that'll be the final one - I still have to do Alastor's part from "Charlie's Utter Depravity", and then, we'll see where you guys wanna take that story.
  75. I'll be away from the threads for a while - whoever saves this story, leave this part out.
