- TC2 research: Explained.
- By feeding items to a Quaesitum, you roll dice to see an outcome. Almost anything can be feed in to the three slots, adding a percentage to the success chance. What is in the top slot decides what it tries to do.
- Most normal, mundane items will roll to give a fragment of lost knowledge. Almost everything gives this type. Things of a twisted nature give forbidden knowledge, like netherrack and rotten flesh. Things related to taint give taint research, and ender pearls and eldritch items give eldritch knowledge.
- These fragments then need to be ran through the table, with a chance to give research notes of their topic, or if that isn't possible fragments of another knowledge class.
- If you manage to score a research note. It have one of several "Difficulties", ranging from trivial to torturous, that effect the odds of success and failure, along with the speed it does research. Get a set number of successes, and the note completes and can be read for the relevant research.
