We came here after seeing the USA Constitutional. Everywhere was kept immaculately clean. There are information boards at various points which are really helpful. We started up the hill from our hotel down on the water at about 8:45 and arrived just as the museum was opening up.\n\nThe park service manages the number of people going up and down the tower by assigning times to people to climb the tower.  The first and last half-hour of the day is open to anyone that wants to climb without an assigned time, but getting a ticket is free and really not a big deal.  It is a small inconvenience for not feeling claustrophobic when you get to the top.\n\nThere are 294 steps to the top of the tower to the observation area.  Once you are in the observation area you have great views of the Boston skyline and the surrounding river and waterfront. We started the Freedom Trail at the Bunker Hill Memorial, and I think that was a good choice. Apparently, a lot of people start at the other end, and decide NOT to see Bunker Hill because it's a long walk from the last closest point, but if you start there you're still fresh. Also, the story of Bunker Hill is a stunning tale of combat heroism. In in the Army, so I truly enjoyed reading about the Soldiers who fought here. A little walk from USS Constitution but well worth it. Definitely a must see in Boston. There's hop on hop off trolleys going up to USS Constitution if you don't want to walk the freedom trail. You can get free tickets to climb the 275+ step monument to have a nice view of Boston. There isn’t much room at the top which is why they make you get tickets at the museum across the street. Have plaques around the monument to tell the history of the location. The lawn is beautiful as well and it seems they’re pretty lax about it as some people were playing some catch on the law a bit a ways away. That being said for how cheap it is it is a pretty fun place to visit for a one time thing. They have a boat tour where you get to go onto a boat like the original participants of the Boston Tea Party and though take crates of \"tea\" over the edge. Although I found that to be a bit cheesy. What I really liked was the tea lounge. For a couple $$ you can get all you can drink tea which is all in all pretty good. In addition they serve pastrys and have actors/actresses dressed up as people from the 1700s to talk about the tea and stuff like that.
