  1. >'SLAM!'
  2. "AGH!"
  3. >"Oops. I didn't scare you, Anon, did I~?"
  4. >Uh, that's you
  5. >Anon
  6. "Um, h-hi, S-S-Sunset..."
  7. >And that's her
  8. >S-Sunset Shimmer
  9. >Fuck, you can't even /think/ her name without stammering
  10. >Doesn't help that she's rattled you by planting her boot into the locker next to yours while your back was turned
  11. >"Well~?"
  12. "H-Huh?"
  13. >Oh, that was not the right response
  14. >Her brow narrows and that pretty, angelic face gets a lot less friendly
  15. >Not at all...
  16. >"Did. I. Scare. You?"
  17. >Each word is punctuated by a forceful step, making you shrink back against your locker from the supposed former-bully
  18. >You swallow meekly, eyes darting back and forth for an escape vector
  19. >Another mistake
  20. >Her gorgeous eyes narrow
  21. >'SLAM!!'
  22. "Eek!"
  23. >You feel your manhood shrivel under her glare, her arms on either side of you, trapping you in
  24. >Terrified beyond the capacity for rational thought, you nod once jerkily
  25. >After a moment her frown slides into a gentle smile
  26. >"Good! With Halloween coming up, I figured you'd appreciate me helping you get into the 'spirit' of things!"
  27. >She laughs at her own little joke, all while you wonder where this whole thing was going
  28. >Oh god, she was going to carve you up like a jack o' lantern!
  29. >Ignorant of your mental horror show, Sunset keeps talking
  30. >"Yeah, I thought you'd agree. Anyways, the Halloween Dance is coming up too, so don't forget to pick up a costume and I'll see you there, okay?"
  31. >With that, she leans in (when had she gotten taller...?), pecks you on the cheek, and walks off, humming to herself
  32. >....
  33. >Your posture finished collapsing as your butt hits the cold hallway floor, staring in disbelief at the swiftly-leaving sway of her hips
  34. >Did... did Sunset just tell you that you were her date for the Halloween Dance?
  35. >......
  36. "...Wut...?"
  37.
  38. >Panic
  39. >You were panicking
  40. >This was your Nightmare Scenario and you didn't know what to do
  41. >Who could you run to for help that you hadn't tried already?
  42. >Sunset's popular friends?
  43. >Yeah right, if they didn't buy she was still bullying, there was no way they'd help you now
  44. >Other than give you awful dating advice, probably
  45. >Flash?
  46. >Yeah fucking right
  47. >The last time you'd gone to him for help, he'd backed away while making that stupid claw symbol from Dracula over his chest
  48. >The next day, you'd found a mock obituary taped to your locker
  49. >Spineless prick
  50. >The principles maybe?
  51. >Oh yeah, sure, school authority figures /definitely/ do their jobs instead of being useless, right?
  52. >Pfft, yeah, maybe in another dimension
  53. >So... you're shit out of luck
  54. "Uuuuuugh..."
  55. >Your shoulders slump and you keep walking
  56. >At least school is done for the day, you think, as you walk through the front doors
  57. >Now you could get home, do your homework, and get some peace and qu-
  58. >"/There/ you are!"
  59. >....
  60. >Huh, didn't realize your voice could hit a pitch that high
  61. >Once your heart crawls back down your throat into your chest and your skeleton puts its skin back on, you look to your left
  62. >S-Sunset...
  63. >Dressed all casual, arms crossed and leaning against the brickwork as she glares at you
  64. >Oh god, what did you do now?
  65. >"Tch, idiot."
  66. >Roughly, she stops over and takes you by the hand, dragging you along
  67. >Ow ow she's crushing your hand, ow
  68. "W-Whut...?"
  69. >Why is she taking you towards her bike...?
  70. "Ow!"
  71. >Now she's punching your shoulder!
  72. >What is happening!?
  73. >"That's for taking so long to get out here! And this is for... because you deserve it!"
  74. >Why is god punishing you like this!?
  75. >You close your eyes, waiting for the next hit
  76. >Instead, something soft brushes your cheek
  77. >Your eyes squeak open to see Sunset's softly-smiling face, her free hand stroking your skin tenderly
  78. >"And this is for not wiping away my lipstick. I didn't realize you like it on you so much."
  79. >Wait, lipstick?
  80. >Her hand comes away, thumb stained the same color as her lips
  81. >"Guess you just wanted to let everyone know who you belonged to, hm?"
  82. >Sunset's lipstick
  83. >On your cheek
  84. >From when she'd k-kissed you
  85. >Oh god
  86. >Well, that explained why people had been staring at you all day...
  87. >"Now hurry up and hop on, you've wasted enough of my time today!"
  88. >And just like that, she's back to yelling at you, straddling her bike and revving the engine
  89. >For a brief moment, you consider running
  90. >There's a chance she might not run you down
  91. >"Anon!"
  92. >Yeah, no, she'd kill you
  93. >Reluctantly, you climb on behind her, hesitating a moment before wrapping your arms around her middle
  94. >You barely get settled before she takes off, speeding along and forcing you to cling to her for dear life, face buried in her red-and-yellow locks
  95. >The wind howls in your ears and her bike rumbles and shakes and sometimes you think she takes turns that fast just to scare you and make you hold on tighter
  96. >...
  97. >Her hair smells nice...
  98. >"Anon? Hey? You can let go, idiot, we're here. No thanks to your dead-weight slowing me down."
  99. "Huh?"
  100. >Sunset jams an elbow into your gut, forcing you off her so she can dismount the bike, hands on her hips as she frown down at you
  101. >"Well, are you coming or not?"
  102. >Finally recovering from the abuse, you look up to see... Sugarcube Corner?
  103. >"What do you mean 'Huh' you idiot!? Now hurry up, you're ruining this date enough as is."
  104. >If the jarring motorcycle ride hadn't been enough to make your knees weak, /that/ certainly was!
  105. >A date!?
  106. >Sunset stood there and huffed, brushing a stray lock of hair from her face and looking off to the side
  107. >"Don't look at me like that, I'm not going to let my new boyfriend slack off just because class is done for the day."
  108. >She stomped her boot on the concrete, fists clenched at her side
  109. >"Now get off that bike and get moving before I deck you!"
  110. >That got through to you, making you scramble off the seat and to her side
  111. >Smiling, Sunset locked her hand with yours again, pulling you through the door
  112. >It let out a cheery 'ding' that damned your soul
  113. >Quickly, she hip-checked you into a booth before greeting the owners and, you guessed, placing an order for the two of you
  114. >Maybe the couple behind the counter would be merciful and poison your food to spare you
  115. >Judging by the thumbs-up the guy was giving you, that didn't seem too likely
  116. >Dammit.
