  1. Hey there! :3
  2.
  3. Firstly, terrain.
  4. You only have one layer of terrain. This shows you understand about adding layers and detailing to your terrain, however you still have a huge flat area. I think you need more layers in your terrain, like this:

  6. This is a little more complex than what I was aiming for, but it shows you the layers well. Some can be jagged, some can be smooth. You can make as many as those amounts of layers, or you can only make like 3 or 4, it's completely up to you. That image is justa good demonstration of how you could make natural looking flatter terrain to build structures on!
  7.
  8. You could go more creative like this, however:

  10. This is slightly more in depth terrain making - it shows you can multi layer and also adds way more atmosphere. It gives you a larger and more creative area to make a structure on as well, and just looks nice.
  11. And like some have done, but they're more experienced builders, you can make this style of cliff higher, and make a really tall plot - Have a fly around spawn and I'm sure you'll see what I mean.
  12.
  13. You have good detailing in the terrain, however. I like the addition of the coloured clay, and the gravel paths!
  14. You can include some water as well if you would like. It can be nice, and atmospheric, to have rivers, waterfalls, small ponds etc. Just adds to the environment and can be really pretty. Of course, when you do this, you want to detail that area too. What I've seen a lot of people do is use lily pads, sugarcane, wheat etc to decorate around the water.

  16. These are a couple plots that demonstrate this well. It's just nice to have that little bit of colour around the water.
  17.
  18. Another nice idea, which I know a lot of people use to add atmosphere to terrain, is adding wheat and farms.

  20. This basically is a an easy way to fill space and make everything feel more realistic and pretty around. Sometimes you can make them this detailed, or you can just make a block shape of wheat and fence it off with cobble walls and fences.
  21. Example: http://i.imgur.com/q45VZZZ.png
  22. This is just a nice way to fill space, adding hay bales in so its not all one thing, and the occasional spot of water - one to keep the wheat hydrated, and two to look nice ;))
  23.
  24. Next, organics.
  25. You have some nice trees, and good spacing between them. However, the trunks are a little skinny, and they're lacking roots. Not to mention the leaves should be 'fluffier'. I would highly suggest looking up Plutouthere on YouTube and checking out his awesome tree tutorials!
  26.
  27. Lastly, structure.
  28. You have a nicely detailed structure. It has a nice concept, and the detailing is pretty good, but I think you need to bring some of the detailing round to the front of the pillars (the log). Add some small detailing there, so it doesn't appear flat when you stand underneath the structure and look upwards.

  30.
  31. The light blue wool roofs need some improvement too.
  32. Take a look at this example:

  34. Notice how the blocks aren't all on the same level - they are organically placed, so that it appears rounder. Try and add this to your roofs. At the moment they stay the same level the whole way round, apart from the second to top layer.
  35.
  36. Huge good lucks!
