- +John Dawd __ It is alleged that "Stephen Hawking" twitches a single cheek muscle in order to compose his thoughts into words/digital speech.
- That may be how some people in a comparable condition can communicate but despite hundreds of interviews, lectures, public appearances and despite being such a prolific author *there is no footage of him actually using his device to construct any sentences let alone merely choose "hello" from a list*.
- We are simply told that this is how he does things and the audience must accept this claim on trust.
- While it is beyond the scope of this reply there are many good reasons to doubt and to not trust the claims made about him. I have written extensively about this on other comment threads and in my own Google Plus posts.
- Though if a person reading this cannot think of a reason to doubt or not trust the claims then I'll simply mention this in passing: *How can it be such a profoundly disabled person - _who hasn't been able to so much as scribble on a piece of paper in over fifty years_ - possibly keep up with a discipline of science to the point where he can be called upon as an "expert"* (if not also be considered its "leader").

- +John Dawd __ If he cannot keep on top of his field then he must have a "ghost writer". If he cannot compose his own sentences then someone else must be writing them for him.
- After many decades the audience still has not seen any actual proof that he is able to do anything for himself. Given how much of a "public figure" he is supposed to be we can have a reasonable expectation that by now we would have seen some kind of proof he is in control of converting his own thoughts into words/sounds.
- That does not mean he doesn't - only that a belief that he is "speaking" for himself is not justified. (This is a critical point and gets into the issue of "sufficient proof" which is beyond the scope of this reply - but I have written about that extensively elsewhere.)
