Battery testing results from others
- Avoid zinc-chloride. Dollar store brands often better than major brands. These can leak.
- Alkalines generally better than zinc-chloride and generally don't leak per Bigclive.
- From BigClive. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-I4liMndTsI. Batteries below from Poundland.
- Kodak zinc chloride (just for reference) 0.85Ah
- Duracell "Simple" 1.7Ah. One of the worst values per pack of batteries.
- Kodak Extralife (Poundland) 2.0Ah
- Duracell standard 2.2Ah
- Powercell (Pound World) 2.3Ah
- Fusiomax Endurance (Poundland) 2.65Ah
- Battery Showdown. Tests 40+ models from UK. "There are low-drain results, for things like toys, torches, CD/MP3 players and similar devices, and high drain results for devices like digital cameras." http://www.batteryshowdown.com/
- Duracell batteries tended to cost higher per maH. Ikea Alkalisk batteries were some of the lowest cost per maH.

Testing notes
- maH can be different depending on load. Batteries can have higher maH with 0.1amp draw, vs 1.0amp draw. To simulate flashlight usage, use 0.03amp draw.
- PRC68 battery testers. Great summary on state of charge (voltage) and capacity (maH).
Testing equipment
- LaCrosse BC 9009 can both charge and test battery capacity for NiMH.
