  1. Unparalleled misalignments are pairs of non-synonymous phrases where the words in one phrase are each synonyms of the words in the other. Examples include "butt dial//booty call", "father figure//dad bod", "economic class//saving grace," "unit vector//One Direction," "Black Power//dark energy," and "final destination//last resort."
  2.
  3. Come up with as many unparalleled misalignments as you can. After each idea, look back and critique whether or not it really fits the rules. Use the following criteria:
  4.
  5. - Is phrase 1 a set phrase?
  6.
  7. - Is phrase 2 a set phrase?
  8.
  9. - Do phrase 1 and phrase 2 have different meanings? (Always ❌ if either of the above is ❌)
  10.
  11. - Are the first words in each phrase synonyms?
  12.
  13. - Are the second words in each phrase synonyms?
  14.
  15. Use ✅ for yes, ❌ for no or N/A, and ❓ for unsure. Up to one ❓ is allowed; more than one ❓ or any ❌ means it's not an unparalleled misalignment.
