  7. Summary
  8. ------
  9.
  10. StF Metal Sonic is a fighter of, well, Metal Sonic, based on his appearance in the arcade game 'Sonic the Fighters'/'Sonic Championship'. Intended to be accurate to his source material, StF Metal Sonic is MEANT to be a bullshit fighter, not unlike other 'SNK' bosses like Omega Rugal, General, and so on. Weaklings begone, and fear the deadly Hyper Mode.
  11.
  12. WARNING! This character is NOT balanced for standard Mugen play! Seriously, Metal doesn't play fair. At all. Fight against this character at your own risk.

  14. DevilsLeftHandMan is not responsible for torn out hair, loss of sleep, loss of sanity, or wanton destruction of electronical devices. Please don't sue me.

  17. Mechanics
  18. ---------
  19.
  20. - Comeback Attack
  21. A general mechanic from StF, Metal Sonic's attacks will grow in power if he's low on health - at 35% HP, Metal's attacks will gain a 1.5x multiplier.
  22.
  23. - Barriers
  24. Barriers are an integral part of Metal Sonic's defenses, though they work a little differently than they do in StF - Metal Sonic can guard, but if enough pressure is put on him, his guard will break (e.g like Dee Bee Kaw's guard mechanics), leaving him open. This decreases the Barrier Count by one. Speaking of the Barrier Count...
  25.
  26. - Barrier Count
  27. Metal Sonic starts with five barriers, which will not restore between rounds. If Metal Sonic has no barriers left, then he cannot guard. There are two ways to lose a Barrier - One is to be hit with enough pressure while guarding, which will break the Barrier and cause Metal Sonic to be stunned for a moment. The other is...
  28.
  29. - HYPER MODE
  30. The dreaded Hyper Mode. Metal Sonic can choose to sacrifice a Barrier to activate this deadly upgrade for a short time. In Hyper Mode, Metal Sonic becomes MUCH faster, essentially gaining turbo mechanics. After activating Hyper Mode, Metal Sonic will be unable to activate it again for a short period of cooldown time, which lasts a few seconds longer than Hyper Mode itself. Additionally, if Metal Sonic has no Barriers, then Hyper Mode cannot be activated.

  32.
  33. -------------
  34. Special Moves
  35. -------------
  36.
  37. As there are no "supers" in StF, so to speak, Metal Sonic doesn't have any either. However, besides standard kicks and jabs, Metal DOES have a few tricks up his sleeve.
  38.
  39. - Corkscrew Tackle - hold back for two seconds, then press forward and kick
  40.
  41. Metal Sonic takes position and then flies towards the opponent, spinning like a drill. Travels from one end of the stage to the other. Unblockable.
  42.
  43. - Chest Blaster - hold back for two seconds, then press forward and punch
  44.
  45. Metal Sonic leans back and fires a light blue laser out of his chest cavity. This laser travels to the end of the stage. Blockable, but causes heavy chip damage.
  46.
  47. - Push You Down (And Pull You Up Again) - Hold forward against opponent, then press Punch
  48.
  49. Metal Sonic grabs the opponent, flies into the air, and then drops the opponent for heavy damage. Unblockable (it's a grab, dummy).
  50.
  51. - Killer Klaw - QCF + Punch x2
  52.
  53. Metal Sonic winds up before digging into the enemy's chest with his hand. Unblockable, deals very high damage. Seriously, this attack HURTS. God help you if you get caught by it while Metal Sonic is in Hyper Mode and is at low HP. There is one saving grace, however - while winding up, Metal Sonic is open to attack. Use this to your advantage if you're unfortunate enough to fight against him.
  54.
  55. - Crushing Jump - Kick (Air Only)
  56.
  57. Metal boosts up a little bit before jumping onto the opponent. This attack is blockable and doesn't do much damage (at least by Metal Sonic standards), but it can hit opponents who are knocked down.
  58.
  59.
  60.
  61. -------------------
  62. Other Things/Extras
  63. -------------------
  64.
  65. - AI
  66. As with his appearance as the second-to-last character in StF's single player mode (or even THE last depending on if you consider Robotnik's E-Mech to be a joke), Metal Sonic has brutal AI that makes sure to abuse his kit of incredibly powerful attacks. He won't be spamming his chest lasers or anything, but he WILL use them. Take him on at your own risk.
  67.
  68. - Alt. palettes
  69. Metal Sonic has only one alternate palette - monochrome, based on the mirror match mechanic in StF. Robotnik won't show up to clone him in the case of a mirror match, however.
  70.
  71. - Intros
  72. Metal Sonic has only one intro - a splash screen with his portrait and the opponent's. Based on the pre-match splash in StF.
  73.
  74. - Outros
  75. As with his singular intro, Metal Sonic has only one outro - one that only activates when he wins the "full" match. Metal Sonic will make a pose as a score screen appears, playing the StF "Round Win" theme.
  76.
  77. - Anything else?
  78. Not really. StF Metal Sonic is meant to be a source-accurate (to a point) port of his appearance in Sonic the Fighters and nothing more, so there's no real reason to add anything else.
