the idea of Pikachu being the guy's father all along was clever and pretty mindblowing, and the guy was eventually reunited with his father, which is a happy ending and so on... but the talking Pikachu we've been watching throughout the whole movie no longer exists, and I can't help finding that fact kind of a bummer...
