- * Sara walks on the outermost stretches of a town, clearly miffed.
- * Sara . o O ( ... can't blasted teleport until I'm out of town, blah, blah... )
- * Sara muses to herself.
- <Sara> Why should /my/ money be any different? Ugh...
- * Sara takes a deep breath and looks at some of the trees as she passes them.
- * [Rut]Skye circles overhead like a vulture -- an ominous silhouette against a blinding background.
- <[Rut]Skye> Well, now... a psychic, trying her luck among humans? S'matter, couldn't predict the outcome? Haha...
- * [Rut]Skye calls from overhead.
- <Sara> Eh?
- * Sara looks up, annoyed.
- * Sara , unamused and not wanting to yell, uses her mind to.
- <Sara> <Shut up.>
- <[Rut]Skye> Oh? This one has still has some fight in her! That's what I like to see.
- <Sara> <If you want me to pluck you out of the sky-->
- * [Rut]Skye suddenly dives. She lands with a quake, a few meters in front of Sara. The shockwave sends leaves and brush scattering, but Skye doesn't look fazed. She grins at the stranger.
- * Sara reacts by shielding herself with her arms.
- <[Rut]Skye> ... Heh. Relax. No glory in taking down wounded prey, y'know?
- * Sara sighs.
- <Sara> ... Good. Last thing I need is /another/ fight.
- * [Rut]Skye brushes herself off, paying special attention to her "hair”.
- <[Rut]Skye> 'Course not. Running the gauntlet like that, not once, but twice... what were you after, anyway?
- <Sara> Not much. Basic rights.
- * Sara 's bitterness shows through.
- * [Rut]Skye tilts her head.
- <[Rut]Skye> ... Uhh... rights?
- <Sara> You know. The ability to do something without being yelled at, et cetera...
- <[Rut]Skye> Ah. I getcha. But you're going about it all wrong. How're ya supposed to get away without being caught if ya keep going up to people and -talking-?
- * Sara frowns.
- * [Rut]Skye crosses her arms. Or wings. Prehensile feathered extremities, at any rate...
- <Sara> Get caught doing what? Buying something?
- <Sara> We should be able to walk in and spend the same money they do.
- <[Rut]Skye> Buy? What, like getting something from a vendor? That's easy. First ya find a thermal, yeah? Get some altitude. Then ya just swoop down--
- * [Rut]Skye blinks.
- <[Rut]Skye> ... Money? What, the paper? Haha!
- * [Rut]Skye chuckles and sits down lazily. She looks thoroughly amused with the Gardevoir.
- <[Rut]Skye> Money's for humans.
- * Sara , on the other hand, looks thoroughly /un/amused. She half-closes her eyes.
- <Sara> At least you could keep from laughing at me.
- <[Rut]Skye> Well, what'd ya expect? You wanna put on human clothes, get a human job, and spend all day writing human letters on human paper to get -more- human paper for yer trouble?
- * Sara /is/ wearing a human dress, though bits of it remain out of proportion. Gardevoir aren't exactly the same.
- <[Rut]Skye> Er... wow. Maybe you do...
- * [Rut]Skye rubs her chin.
- <Sara> ... We should just be able to, is all.
- * Sara begins walking again.
- <[Rut]Skye> What I don't get is why you're trying to be one of them. I can tell you've been in your share of shit, psychic.
- * [Rut]Skye gets up and starts following.
- <[Rut]Skye> You've got that look about ya. But since I'm one of the good guys, I could help ya get whatever ya need...
- * [Rut]Skye -seems- friendly enough...
- * Sara feels a little lightened.
- <Sara> Thanks for the offer, but I'm not really after goods.
- <Sara> They're just... nice.
- <[Rut]Skye> What, then? Did you... ah, did some friends get caught? Or maybe a trainer's on your tail? Your kind -is- pretty rare around these parts...
- <[Rut]Skye> C'mon, don't keep me guessing, now!~
- * [Rut]Skye ’s smile tells you she's genuinely eager to help. Like a big sister, or someone willing to help a newcomer get adjusted to 'her' town.
- <Sara> No one's on the run. No one's caught, thankfully.
- <[Rut]Skye> Mhmm. That can be tough.
- * [Rut]Skye nods in understanding.
- <[Rut]Skye> Then maybe... -you're- lookin' for a human?
- <Sara> What's your meaning?
- <[Rut]Skye> Well, I gather you ain't a fan of the whole "pokemon trainer" deal. You don't seem the vengeful type, either. So maybe you're looking for a specific human you once knew?
- <[Rut]Skye> If it's not just the goods, like you said.
- * Sara looks at her for a moment.
- <Sara> You're a smart one.
- * Sara smiles.
- <[Rut]Skye> I know~ Good to hear it from someone else, though. Heh.
- <Sara> You're off by a bit, though. I knew she wasn't here.
- <Sara> This was just an attempt at shopping.
- <[Rut]Skye> I see. I'm acquainted with some of the good ones -- the ones that'll help a 'Maju' out in a pinch, if you can communicate with 'em. Maybe I know her?
- * [Rut]Skye uses the native word for "pocket monster". One that does not reference the human invention.
- <Sara> You're a bucket of surprises.
- <Sara> Ever hear of a girl named Iris?
- <[Rut]Skye> Mm... can't say I do, sorry. Not in Vermilion, anyway. Was she a trainer? Might've already left for Saffron if that's the case.
- * [Rut]Skye shrugs apologetically.
- <Sara> No, not a trainer.
- <Sara> Thanks for the help, though.
- <[Rut]Skye> By the way, where ya headed?
- <Sara> Back to my group.
- * [Rut]Skye raises an eyebrow.
- <[Rut]Skye> ...Didn't know there was nest of psychics nearby.
- * [Rut]Skye looks incredulous. She would swear she knows the area like the back of her hand-equivalent.
- * Sara sees Skye's expression.
- <Sara> No, not psychics.
- <Sara> Just friends.
- <[Rut]Skye> Friends, huh... surprised they didn't try to stop you.
- <Sara> Why would they stop me?
- * Sara notices that most of the town is now behind them.
- <[Rut]Skye> What, with all those starry-eyed kids running around with hyper balls they got using mama's credit card?? Nothin'.
- * [Rut]Skye is only-half sarcastic.
- <[Rut]Skye> ... I guess the trainers around here -are- pretty pathetic. But then, they're not ready for the likes of me or you, I bet.
- * [Rut]Skye grins again.
- <[Rut]Skye> Wanna see my badge collection?
- <Sara> You've stolen badges?
- <[Rut]Skye> Heheheh.
- * [Rut]Skye keeps grinning.
- <[Rut]Skye> Yeah, but I like to think that I "won" most of 'em.
- <Sara> Impressive.
- * [Rut]Skye swells with pride. She tries to hide it, but it is a futile effort. The sheer quantity makes it impossible.
- * Sara can't help but grin a little as well.
- <[Rut]Skye> ...But, ah, enough about me. So, you're hanging around other species, then? Interesting!
- <[Rut]Skye> You, ah... mind if I tag along? I've been flying solo for a while, now. Might be a nice change of pace.
- * [Rut]Skye partly wants another opportunity to show off.
- * Sara sighs.
- <Sara> It's fine by me, but it would also be nice to have a name.
- <[Rut]Skye> Skylar. "Skye" works too.
- <Sara> Sara. Nice to meet you.
- * Sara offers her hand.
- * [Rut]Skye stares at it for a moment before getting it. A human gesture. She returns the shake heartily, broadcasting ample confidence.
- <[Rut]Skye> Not a bad name. I'm lookin' forward to meeting your flock.
- <Sara> They're not my flock, per se. We just keep together.
- <Sara> Mind a teleport?
- * Sara , though she has shaken, has not let go.
- <[Rut]Skye> Personally, I prefer the air. But hey, I'll try anything once.
- <Sara> Alright.
- * Sara closes her eyes and takes a deep breath.
- <Sara> ... Here we go.
- * Sara disappears with the prospective new comrade seconds later, leaving only air behind.
- <[Rut]Skye> [End session]
