  1. IVs in Battle Factory in Emerald:
  2.
  3. In the Battle Factory, the IVs of the rental Pokemon you get to choose from goes up after each set. They start at 3 in all IVs, then in Set 2 they are 6 in all IVs, then 9 in Set 3, then 12 in Set 4, then 15 in Set 5, then 21 in Set 6, then 31 in Set 7+.
  4.
  5. However, trainer Pokemon do not follow this trend. My testing showed that all trainer Pokemon have IVs of 3 IVs, except for the 7th trainer in every set, who would have 6 in all IVs. This still applies if you take the Pokemon after a fight, which means for example, if you're playing in Set 4, while the first 6 Pokemon that you get to choose from have 12 IVs, if you take a Pokemon from a Trainer it will have IVs of 3 (meaning you have better stats if you don't switch)
  6. Note: Noland has 15 in all IVs in Silver Symbol fight, and 31 in Gold Symbol
  7.
  8. However, Exarion reported to me that while that was true from a post-E4 file, from a casual full Emerald file they all seemed to have 31 in IVs, no matter what. So I set out to find out what the cause for this is.
  9.
  10. Turns out, it's actually based off your most recent streak in the Battle *Tower*
  11. So, if you haven't played the Battle Tower yet, they will all have 3 IVs except for the last trainer. However if you just cleared 49+ Floors in the Battle Tower, they will all be 31. This works in increments too.
  12.
  13. For example, if you just completed 1 set in the Battle Tower (7 fights), in the Battle Factory opposing trainers will have 6 IVs on all their Pokes, whereas the last will have 9 in IVs. Completed 2 sets (14 fights) and they will be 9, last will be 12, etc.
  14.
  15. So, if you want to have an easier time at the Battle Factory, if you've played the Battle Tower at all, once you lose in there, go in immediately again and retire vs the first trainer so your most recent streak is 0, and all the Pokemon in the Battle Factory will be as weak as they can be.
  16.
  17. Super weird exception: It appears that after 8 streaks in the Battle Tower (56 wins), the IVs in the Battle Factory for opponent Pokemon are *completely random*, as if they were Wild Pokemon. I have absolutely no idea what causes this at the moment, I have 3 ideas for the cause:
  18. It's just because it's after Set 8. I don't know why this would do it, but I don't know why anything would do it. This is by far the most likely, given the cause of why this is happening at all
  19. The last Pokemon I faced in Set 8 was a Regice. Because that's a legendary that...does...something?
  20. After Set 8, you get the ribbons for clearing 50+ fights. This...does...something, if it was this it means it would only happen the first time.
  21. Note: If you do a set in Battle Factory with random IV opponent Pokemon, in Battle 7 the trainer will have 0 IVs on all their Pokemon. This is afaik the only way to get a trainer in any facility to have Pokemon that weak (as they all normally start at 3)
  22.
  23. If anyone knows anything more about that let me know, just out of curiosity. For the sake of anything practical it doesn't really matter at all past this point. The reason any of this happens would just be because they made an error somewhere and for some reason it's pulling info for Battle Tower instead of Factory for opponent Pokemon IVs for some reason. This doesn't impact any other facility, they all work as normal
  24. (Though Dome has the same issue of all opponent Pokemon except Tucker having 3 IVs, I can only assume this is intended for some reason)
