Q. What are you trying to achieve ?
A. I'm attempting to finish Pokémon Crystal (i.e. completing the game from New Game to defeating trainer Red), in a speedrun fashion (as fast as possible), following the Baton Pass ruleset.

Q. What is the Baton Pass ruleset ?
A. Baton Pass is a unique way of speedrunning a Pokémon Game. It was first introduced by Exarion (https://www.twitch.tv/ExarionU) for Pokémon Red in late 2016. The rules are as follow :
	> Don't use any glitches during the run (RNG abuse, if it exists, is allowed)
	> for each Pokémon that takes part in a major battle, itself and its evolutionary line can't participate in another one.
	  For example, let's say Croconaw and Spearow fight Whitney, this means the following Pokémon can't fight in any other main battle :
		- Totodile, Croconaw & Feraligatr | Spearow & Fearow

Q. What defines a major battle ?
A. A major battle is any of the following :
	> Gym Leaders (8 in Johto & 8 in Kanto)
	> Pokémon League members (Elite 4 members & Lance)
	> Trainer Red
This means at least 22 different Pokémon from 22 different evolutionary lines have to be used for completing the run.

Q. What's the point of this ruleset ?
A. It can be seen as a challenge : this increases the difficulty of completing a run, and the routing involved is also very important, since it will require gathering much wider data for Pokémon choices, strategies involded, items management, and so on.
