song chaeryeong may appear as sweet as honey on the outside. but she's more like hardened honey on the inside. she's friendly and kind when she needs to be, like when she's going to order something at a store or when she's with a mere child. to her school and music teachers, she's the human form of an angel. but when it comes to her music, she's intense, serious and strict. if someone even dares to disturb her while she's practicing, she will likely shout and swear at them—unless it's her beloved mother—until they go away. she will even miss meals just to perfect a few measures of a song. ultimately, that comes to show her dedication and hard work when it comes to her doing something that she truly loves. due to that, she is moreso an introvert and a lonewolf. on the contrary, she likes being in relationships so that she has muses for her songs.

she was born in leoben, austria, the town that hosted the concerto competition where her parents first met. when she was 2 years old, she and her mother moved to osan, south korea due to her mother's violin career having seen very little success. meanwhile, her father continued to pursue his career as a successful touring orchestra musician in europe. she only ever saw him when he flew her and her mother out to one of his concerts every couple of years. otherwise, she was living with her mother and grandparents, getting an education at a private school, and going to piano and singing lessons. although she was blessed with many privileges, often times she felt lonely due to her father's peregrinate career, her mother's new job as a music teacher, and having no siblings. it got far worse when she was 9 years old and was told that her father had been killed on impact in an airplane crash. not only was she even more alone than before but her family had lost their main source of income. she moved from her prestige private school to a poorly managed public school and pulled out of her piano lessons. she wanted to stop involving herself with music completely because it reminded her too much of her father but she made the decision to keep going through with it as a tribute to her parents and for their legacy. she auditioned at star empire entertaintment, believing it would take said tribute one step further.

fans ship her with barely any other members due to her lack of interaction with other members during concerts, fanmeets, stages, etc. however, she loves the fans, constantly interacting with them during concerts, fanmeets and on the streets.

unsurprisingly, she is the most passionate about music. that is mainly due to both of her parents' having also been involved with music ever since they were younger so she has been surrounded by music her whole life. she has been taught to know music inside and out, in turn teaching her to love music.

➤┆ WHY ARE THEY CONTINUING TO PURSUE AN IDOL CAREER, DESPITE SEEING LITTLE SUCCESS IN THE PAST?
she knows that her mother's violin career saw very little success and, although her mother appears to be content with her job as a music teacher, chaeryeong knows that her mother wishes things could have been the other way around. chaeryeong doesn't want her mother to feel that way about her and she doesn't want to feel that way about herself. additionally, she wants to make a tribute to her late father and keep the musical legacy going in the family.

➤┆ WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOUR CHARACTER GIVE TO THOSE WISHING TO PURSUE AN IDOL CAREER?
"getting into the industry is one thing, being in the industry is another. numerous people will tell you that you aren't good enough—that you aren't good-looking enough, that you can't sing or rap good enough, or that you aren't skinny or tall enough. their words will hurt but their words are also incentive for you to become better and prove them wrong. work hard, power through and don't give up, no matter how cliché it may sound."
