4. Valeria Cerenti
5. - Experienced biotic Shock Trooper
6. - Capable squad leader, fiercely protective of fellow squad mates
7. Valeria Cerenti is an asari Commando. She has decades of training and field experience, and has shown her potential as an effective squad leader. She often puts the lives of her squad mates above her own, and it's not uncommon for her to disobey orders when lives are on the line.

40. Support Vanguard
41. Valeria has managed to put her own spin on the Vanguard's approach to combat to suit a more supportive role. Forgoing a few higher damaging attacks in favor of biotic and combat abilities that focus on disabling or severely weakening the opposition and giving the rest of the squad opportunities to finish them off. Her most common strategies are to use Smash to knock closely packed groups into the air, or alternatively, Lift Grenades. Finally, she devotes all of her Combat skills into ammo mods, all three of which can be used to get past most defenses. While this is obviously a combat approach suited towards a group effort, Valeria is more than capable of holding her own like a "traditional" Vanguard with barrier boosting powers to keep her shields up and the Vanguard unique ability Biotic Charge to deal significant damage.

59.
60. Distinguishing Features:
61. Valeria's body is much like any other asari's, with a few noticeable differences. Her body, while like a human female's in shape and endowment, has noticeably developed muscles (the most prominent being in her legs). This is the result of the Commando training regime, her own personal workout sessions, and a strict diet. As such, she has significantly above average strength in addition to the lithe flexibility her race is known for.
62.
63. Valeria's skin pigmentation is a very dark purple, and her facial markings (two thin lines running from the top and bottom of her eyes horizontally (think // and \\) and thick looking "eyebrows") are a lighter shade of purple. Her head fringe has a hexagonal pattern that looks akin to a reptile's scales, which Valeria considers a compliment to her intimidation factor (to people afraid of reptiles anyway).
64.
65. Being in the Matron stage seems to have made her movements less energetic, though this is merely Valeria planning out her movements and generally being more cautious. That isn't to say that she is unable to handle fast-paced combat, as the years of military service have given her a remarkable endurance rate.
66.
67. Valeria's facial structure has a somewhat hollowed and hardened look to it, with a few humans who've seen her are reminded of a wolf that is always hunting. Her eyes are wide set, and the irises a dark hazel. Her nose is slightly larger than average, and is bent in a way that indicates it has been broken previously. Her lips (a darker purple than her skin) are thick, and always seem to be in a perpetual frown.
68.
69. Psychological Profile:
70.
71.
Valeria is, by all accounts, appears to be just another "no-nonsense soldier". To the people she works with, she's strict, is critical of any mistake, and does not take failure lightly. She generally does not approve of anyone making light of a serious situation, and finds a special place in her heart to hate obnoxious jokesters. However, she is not like this out of professionalism. She merely wants to keep everyone under her command alive. And to her, allowing any leeway during a mission is an invitation for someone to get killed when they let their guard down to. If people hate her for this, she will not mind at all, as long as said people respect her and her authority (when she has it), she won't have a problem with them.
72.
73. This obsession with keeping people alive is a double-edged sword, however. Valeria will, under the circumstances of lives being at stake, will directly disobey orders and go out of her way to help those in danger (though she will put her squad above anyone else). She has only narrowly-escaped several discharges on the grounds of completing every mission in which she had exhibited this behavior.
74.
75. Valeria has no problem being under another's command, and she is willing and able to follow their orders, though she will often voice her opinion about questionable orders. Her efficiency ultimately depends on her respect for the squad leader. If she knows the person leading her is unfit to do so, she will begrudgingly follow their orders, but outright refuse to listen if a specific order is incredibly illogical to her.
76.
77. Off-duty, Valeria is a very social person. Being raised on Omega means she usually has a crass sort of humor. Still, respect again comes into play even when she isn't fighting. She's quick to make jokes with the people she likes, but will more often than not give a cold shoulder to those who've either gotten an less than nice standing in her eyes.
78.
79. Over time, as she continues to serve with a crew, Valeria will grow more and more protective of them, and even consider them a family (having none of her own). It gets to the point where she can be fiercely protective of anyone, even the people that she can't stand.
80.
81.
Valeria has no problem with turians, and she even envies their military training, and the soldiers it produces. That being said, she considers a spar with a turian to be the most exciting form of combat, and would only challenge one who has proven him/herself a capable combatant.
82.
83.
Valeria has a certain dislike for quarians. To her, if she can't see someone's face, she can't trust them completely. While she has enough sense to know that most of the stereotypes of the quarian people are false, she finds it very hard to like them, and even harder to trust them. That being said, she isn't incapable of considering a quarian a friend, but those people are few and far in between, and it has taken them a long time to build up such a trust.
84.
85.
Valeria is indifferent to salarians. This is because she hardly considers them capable fighters, in straight up combat. Trickery and subterfuge are not her cup of tea, but she acknowledges the need for such tactics, and will not turn down the assistance of a salarian infiltrator.
86.
87.
Valeria has no admiration for the krogan, and because she has never met a krogan she could trust, she does not have a high opinion of them. To her, the krogan are a people that can never be trusted to not stab you in the back, and are a people too preoccupied with infighting to solve the problem ailing their entire race.
88.
89.
Valeria, ironically, dislikes the asari as much as any other race. To her, too few asari ever become experienced soldiers, with the most common "asari soldier" being a generic Eclipse mercenary. The rest largely consist of diplomats and strippers, two career paths that Valeria does not have a polite opinion for. While Valeria has met and befriended several asari, they were almost entirely fellow commandos.
90.
91.
Valeria, like most of the galaxy, saw the potential that the humans possessed when they made themselves known. Any race that could stand toe-to-toe with the turians were impressive in her book. Her experience with human culture and behaviors are limited, but she usually expresses heavily disguised curiosity whenever she ends up fighting alongside one, and because of how diverse humans are, she puts humans at a close second (to turians) on "races she likes to spar with". 95.
96. Name: M-23 Katana
97. Classification: Shotgun
98. Manufacturer: Ariake Technologies
99. Description: Common military shotgun. Deadly at short range, but ineffective at long range. Very effective versus shields and biotic barriers, but weak versus armor. Manufactured by Ariake Technologies, the Katana is a common mercenary weapon, and is also popular on colonies with Varren infestations.
100. Modifications: Tungsten-carbide bayonet attached under the barrel.
101.
102. Name: M-5 Phalanx
103. Classification: Heavy Pistol
104. Manufacturer: Systems Alliance
105. Description: The M-5 Phalanx is the product of the Alliance's Offensive Handgun Project, a close-in weapon to be used with no loss of stopping power in comparison with a soldier's assault rifle. The Phalanx enjoys a ballistics advantage over most heavy pistols. Civilian variants are often purchased by colonists on planets that have particularly dangerous big-game animals.
106. Modifications: Increased magazine capacity.
107.
108.
109. Name: Recon Hood
110. Classification: Helmet
111. Description: A hood issued to covert action teams, this model's optic display interfaces with most small arms' auto-targeting software, linking hand and eye for improved accuracy and increased weapon damage. Ballistic-mesh fabric and composite ceramic plating provide necessary armor, and the integral air filter helps in hostile environments.
112.
113. Name: Explorer Armor
114. Classification: Medium Armor
115. Manufacturer: Devlon Industries
116. Description: Chrome colored plates cover vital areas of the body while keeping flexibility and freedom of movement relatively unhindered. This armor model can withstand a variety of
117. environmental extremes such as cold, heat or toxic exposure.
118. Additions: Three black stripes running horizontally down to the left of the armor's chest plate. Two spare ammo cases. One on her upper left arm, as well as one on her upper left thigh.
120.
121.
122. Name: Gemini Bio-Amp
123. Classification: Biotic Amplifier
124. Manufacturer: Armax Arsenal
125. Description: The Gemini Amplifier sacrifices any form of power duration buffers in favor of reducing the cool-down time of powers as much as possible. While it offers a minor increase in power, the effect is minimal compared to more high end amplifiers. None-the-less, this amplifier is a powers happy biotic user's best friend.
126.
127. Name: Bluewire Tool
128. Classification: Omni-Tool
129. Manufacturer: Aldrin Labs
130. Description: A lower tier omni-tool that is still somewhat reliable. The software is outdated on Val's model, however, and her hacking and tech skills are severely limited because of this. The upside is that the medi-gel healing effects are slightly above average due to most of the power going into that specific function.

135. I'd like to say I've seen and done it all, and if I missed something...
136. Well, let's just say I'm probably gonna end up doing whatever that is too.
137. The galaxy is just one big problem, and I don't give a shit what those politicians and bureaucrats tell you, it's the people who know how to fight that get stuff done in this galaxy,
138. not the assholes who sit in their comfy offices.
139. Mercs and outlaws aren't gonna stop their shit just because you pass a bloody law tellin' them they can't do the only thing they know how to do.
140. <She grins>
141. Bullets can work wonders though.
142.
143. <The sounds of shuffling feet make it through the static of the omni-tool recording. A gruff voice suddenly speaks clearly over the static.>
144.
145. Seeing as how I'm part of a crew now, figured I'd tell my story in case my luck runs out. Crew can do whatever they want with these recordings. If they hate me, space 'em. If they don't, put 'em on a podium or something. Don't care.

149. RP Sample:
150.
It was yet another bright and sunny day at the Olympus Coliseum, and dozens of would-be heroes had already made their to the fabled arena of heroes in hopes of earning glory in combat. Today's crowd were all but simple farmers with rusted swords, splintered wooden shields, and entirely lacking in a warrior's coordination and reflexes. These men were quickly turned away by the Phil, the legendary satyr trainer of heroes. The men had left by the end of the day with heavy hearts and shattered spirits, but a handful sat on the stone steps to amuse themselves by watching a spectacle that had been going on all day
151.
152. The scene was odd upon the first glance, a barefooted girl in odd clothing was running around the coliseum entrance without stopping. She was oblivious to the laughter and jeers of those around her, having an almost single-minded resolve to keep running. By the end of the day, the men that stayed behind to watch her were debating among themselves when she'll finally drop dead from exhaustion.
153.
154. How long... Do I have to keep running?! Zoey L. Atkins asked for what felt like the hundredth time, exasperation had already made its way into her thoughts. For a while, the only sound was her rapid breathing. After a few seconds, she knew that she would get no reply. That sent her thoughts back to how tired she was. Her legs felt like they were on fire, and sweat was running down her forehead, making the few strands of her curly black hair stick to it and grow damp.
155.
156. Zoey wanted nothing more than to fall down to the ground and rest forever, but the Ostrich Spirit wanted her to prove herself worthy of utilizing his abilities. Apparently, that meant she had to run until he was satisfied with her stamina. So far, the stupid stubborn bird hadn't said anything all day. And that only tempted Zoey to just give up. She was able to use Spider Monkey and Elephant's Spirits anyway, and that seemed to be more than enough. But every time she doubted herself, she remembered how fast ostriches could run. That was bound to be extremely useful, Zoey was always running from something after all. And so she pressed on, vaguely aware that the rowdy spectators were shouting "Fall down! Fall down! Fall down!"
157.
158. You may stop. A calm voice suddenly said, his tone carrying authority.
159.
160. The words were like a switch, Zoey immediately fell to the ground in the shade of a large pillar. Staring up at the sky, she took several strained breaths and clutched a side stitch that was throbbing painfully. The booming laughter of the spectating men seemed oddly distant. Am I.... worthy now? Zoey asked, and she was almost afraid of the answer.
161.
162. A pause. Yes. You have proven yourself strong enough to retain your speed for an extended period of time. One cannot truly become a formidable runner if their efforts are to merely be fast. You must be fast, but you must also stay fast for as long as you can. This is the flaw of my species' enemy: the cheetah. It is also the reason they cannot hope to hunt us. Do you understand? Ostrich explained, and Zoey had to struggle to stay awake.
163.
164. Zoey nodded weakly, only to soon realize her mistake. Yeah... I do...
165.
166. Then I am honored to lend you my power. Said Ostrich, who sounded almost proud.
167.
168. Zoey chuckled softly, Thanks... Now I think I'll rest for a bit... She said, immediately closing her eyes and falling asleep. Farther away, the men looked to each other then back at the girl who seemed to have drifted off to sleep. Standing, the two approached her and stared down, taking in her strange appearance up close.
169.
170. The first man glanced at his friend, "Think she has anything of value?"
171.
172. The second man shrugged, "Dunno. Lets find out though, shall we?" He said, and they both smirked. Kneeling down beside her, the first man carefully opened her satchel and began tossing the contents out. The vials with various colors of liquid were sat down carefully, while the empty vials were haphazardly thrown aside, where they shattered on the ground. A pestle and mortar were extracted, along with a book with some sort of plant on the cover. The first man frowned, "Ain't got much so far..." He grumbled.
173.
174. "I'll check her pockets." The second man said, gently reaching inside her front pants pockets, nothing. Gritting his teeth, he then carefully moved the girl's arm off of her chest and carefully set it on the ground. The four pockets contained a assortment of odd looking silver coins with a man on the front and a building the two men had never seen before on the back. "Could get a decent price for these. Never seen 'em before." He said, and began to stand up when a brief flash of light caught his eye. Looking more closely at the girl's neck, he saw a series of gold chains. "She has a gold necklace? We're... We're rich!" The second man whispered excitedly. Motioning to the first man to stay still, he began to reach for the necklace. Grabbing it and taking care not to touch the girl's skin, he slowly pulled it up, making an oval shaped lump of gold visible. "By the Gods..." The second man muttered, amazed. Then he realized that he had been pulling on the necklace so much that it was digging into the girl's neck, and to his horror her eyes began to open.
175.
176. Zoey groggily woke from a sudden pain in her neck. It didn't hurt too much, but it was the sort of pain that was more annoying than actually harmful. It took her a few seconds to realize that she didn't know the man whose face was uncomfortably close to her own. Looking down, she saw his hand clutching her locket...
177.
178. Her mother's locket.
179.
180. Adrenaline immediately began to flow through Zoey, these men were trying to take what little of her mother's things she had left. "Let go of it!" She snarled, and began to sit up only for the man to push her to the ground. She heard the necklace snap as she hit the ground and saw the broken locket clutched in the man's fist.
181.
182. "Let's go!" The man shouted, jumping over Zoey's legs and running towards the large double doors leading out of the coliseum with what seemed to be the man's accomplice. Not wasting any time, Zoey got to her feet and gave chase, leaving her satchel and its contents behind.
183.
184. "Get back here! Give that back!" She shouted, but the men were already several feet away from her. They obviously had experience running away from people, for they were already close to the exit. "No...! No!" Shouted Zoey, she couldn't lose that locket. She just couldn't! Then an idea struck her. Ostrich, help me! She pleaded, and immediately, the Ostrich Spirit entered her soul.
185.
186. To her amazement, Zoey saw the world around her blur, and the distance between her and the two men closed significantly. Within seconds, she was close enough to tackle the man with her locket to the ground. "Give it back!" She shouted again, reaching for the man's fist. Her fingers only brushed his when she suddenly a pair of hands grabbed her by the armpits and threw her off of the man. Looking up, she had a clear view of the man's accomplice, someone she had all but forgotten about. As he approached her, she aimed a kick that connected squarely with his chest, and he flew into the air and landed several feet away, where he lay there and groaned weakly. Zoey didn't have time to admire the power of her new Spirit, and she stood up just as the other man did.
187.
188. "Give. It. Back." Zoey snarled, she wasn't one for violence, but this man was going to become a rare exception to her code.
189.
190. The man smirked, "How about you come and take it, girl?" He said mockingly. Then he drew an iron sword sheathed on his back. The blade had noticeable rust marks, but it was more than enough against an unarmed 16 year old girl.
191.
192. Zoey hesitated, she wasn't going to let him go, but she didn't want to get stabbed in order to get her possession back either. Indecision racked her, and she was at a loss for what to do...
193.
194. Future Plans: If you couldn't tell from a few profile tidbits, it'd like to plan for Val to end up as the Dresden's Chief Gunnery Officer. After that... Well, we'll see where it goes from there.
