  2. Heya! :open_mouth:
  3. I was told you wanted me to give you my questions regarding character build specifically?
  4. I appreciate the help. ^^
  5. Khaos - 3/23/2018, 5:20:10 PM
  6. Yeh, I'm one of the novakid loremasters, the other being @pocl#3252
  7. Korasyl - 3/23/2018, 5:20:38 PM
  8. Nice to meetcha. I'm Kora, Lloyd's assistant for the Revamping of Atlas Weaponry.
  9. I assume Caps sent you the quick summary on the Sol-Borealis?
  10. Khaos - 3/23/2018, 5:21:57 PM
  11. Yeah, Caps did.
  12. I'll kinda start off by giving you an idea of how novakids in GC's lore work normally, to give you something of a reference
  13. Korasyl - 3/23/2018, 5:23:41 PM
  14. Nods once, and sits. Sounds good.
  15. Khaos - 3/23/2018, 5:28:57 PM
  16. Novakid traits to already consider is by comparing them to amoebas. Though in the case of novas, their nucleus would be the external brand of theirs.
  17. In terms of novakids, compared to Sol-Borealis, novakids are already pretty resistant to blunt trauma. Their shells, anyway. Their brands are obviously the exception to that, they're very sensitive.
  18. Essentially, you could punch a novakid and knock them down ( considering they are lightweight ), but you likely won't cause harm to their shell. It's just plasma held together by a magnetic field. To harm a nova, you'd need penetrating power, like a knife or bullet.
  19. On top of that, novakids are naturally extremophiles. They can survive the void of space, and extreme temperatures ( both cold and hot ). They don't have sensitive tissues or rely on water that can freeze/boil.
  20. With that in mind, what are you aiming for with the Sol-Borealis?
  21. Korasyl - 3/23/2018, 5:30:11 PM
  22. Ah, okay! So, despite their appearence, they are already naturally hardy, like any other race.
  23. Khaos - 3/23/2018, 5:30:43 PM
  24. To a more extreme extent, yes! However, they do suffer from being rather weak and they do require more calories than other species.
  25. Leaking plasma for them is worse than an organic bleeding though. Novakids "bleed out" faster than an organic would.
  26. Korasyl - 3/23/2018, 5:32:00 PM
  27. Well, the idea behind the Sol-Borealis was to create a Novakid that was altered through natural circumstances, which would in turn make them much more capable in the field of battle than another novakid. That being said, it was supposed to (In theory) make is skin somewhat bullet resistant, as well as giving him a higher weight category despite how slender his build is.
  28. All in all. A Boreal Novakid is supposed to be a tough-customer type, able to shake off a bit more than normal, at the cost of being ridiculed by other races for the odd appearance.
  29. Which is why you'd never catch Kol outside of his mask.
  30. It also made them a bit less.. Lithe?
  31. Due to the more-solid nature of the shell, reducing their flexibility by a factor.
  32. Not ridiculously, but. You get the idea. xD
  33. Khaos - 3/23/2018, 5:34:32 PM
  34. Novakids can be more than skinny. Novakids over the age of 400 naturally begin to bloat bigger and bulkier actually, looking "fat" in their later life.
  35. None look muscular for obvious reasons, as they don't have muscles.
  36. Korasyl - 3/23/2018, 5:35:04 PM
  37. Oh, I'm aware of that. cx Gas buildup tends to expand the shell overtime.
  38. Khaos - 3/23/2018, 5:35:25 PM
  39. Novakids do expel waste, though in the case of later years it's their brand wearing out
  40. Not as strong magnetically as it used to be, thus it can't handle the pressure so much.
  41. Korasyl - 3/23/2018, 5:35:59 PM
  42. Okay, that makes sense. Yeah.
  43. Khaos - 3/23/2018, 5:36:02 PM
  44. It also makes their shells weaker, as a consequence.
  45. Korasyl - 3/23/2018, 5:36:20 PM
  46. I'm not entirely sure what the relative young adult age is for a novakid.
  47. But I had him marked as 31 in human year terms.
  48. So right at the age of prime, but grizzled enough for experience.(edited)
  49. Khaos - 3/23/2018, 5:36:55 PM
  50. I'd say a novakid's prime is anywhere between 80 and 300, though novakids are technically adult by 21
  51. Fully grown by then that is.
  52. Sometimes a lot sooner than that.
  53. Korasyl - 3/23/2018, 5:37:16 PM
  54. So that would put Kol, at 31, as a full grown.
  55. Though by far not an elder.
  56. Khaos - 3/23/2018, 5:37:34 PM
  57. Pretty young for a novakid.
  58. But by all means he's physically and mentally mature.
  59. Korasyl - 3/23/2018, 5:38:01 PM
  60. Cool. cx That works out well, then, i suppose.
  61. As for the shell structure increasing durability, how would that factor?
  62. Minus the brand, of course.
  63. Khaos - 3/23/2018, 5:44:02 PM
  64. As for the subtype of novakid, I'm not entirely sure. Usually there's tradeoffs when there's a subspecies and whatnot.
  65. A difference in appearance can relate to the gasses and plasmas that are inside the novakid.
  66. For a stronger shell, you'd need a stronger magnetic field from the brand. I may talk to pink about it here in a little bit and get thoughts circulating.
  67. A stronger magnetic field though, would inherently mean a stronger shell and one that regenerates faster. It may also allow a novakid to light more weight.
  68. The drawbacks to this could mean more strain on the brand, the magnetic field extending outside of their body (like having small metal objects stick to the novakid), they may have to consume more calories, shortened lifespan.
  69. That's all off the top of my head though, I'll see if I can give pink a poke and see what works with what you're wanting to do.
