Colossus By Design: Non-Standard DE Energy

Non-Standard DE Energy


[Appearance]:

Most often, the telltale sign of the presence of this form of energy is a faint distortion around an object, either invisible or with a slight hint of colour that many would refer to as an 'aura' or sorts. However, this isn't the only representation, as there are other ways non-standard DE energy can manifest. For example, it can manifest as looking like bright electrical currents coursing through an organism, as well as an object simply glowing a certain colour. Otherwise, you'd never even be able to tell it was there.


[What It Is]:

Unfortunately, we Humans have yet to truly figure out what exactly non-standard DE energy is. We know that it's an inherently present force found among all living organisms, and yet most of us will likely never even know it's there, since it's hardly ever even interacted with, if at all.

However, what we do know is that it's a force that only ever dissipates once an organism dies. Thus, we see that more advanced and longer-lived living beings have larger reserves of this energy than others such as bacteria or plankton. But the most puzzling detail is that, despite there being hardier lifeforms that Humans, we have the largest reserves of non-standard DE energy.

Religious types would argue that it's because we are part of some divine plan, but I don't buy into that nonsense, since there is no proof that this is the case. And even if it were, I doubt any of us would figure it out during this lifetime.

I personally theorize that this energy is some sort of residue that occasionally drifts into our own existence from some other dimension that is unknown to the ones we have come to see as the norm. Granted, there is very circumstantial evidence for this, but it is still evidence that doesn't disprove this idea.


[Properties]:

If it wasn't made clear enough before, I'll try and do so more thoroughly now. Non-standard DE energy is really tricky to talk about. We still have much to learn about it, but I will present what we DO know for the time being.

In general, most living things never even realize the existence of this force, and yet it remains ever-present throughout their lives. As a part of Project Warmonger, you recruits can probably tell that the Warmonger units, and the creatures they fight, these P.E.M.F.s, are the most obvious examples of the usage of the energy.

As you can see from them, non-standard DE energy, in general, can act as a sort of supporting structure that adds no actual mass, allowing free-moving objects like giant monsters or robots to move with the fluidity and grace as they think they should. And that's another property of this energy.

It's directly linked to an organism's consciousness. Basically, if you think it, and you have enough reserve energy, you can do it. I know, I know, it's starting to sound suspiciously similar to magic, but, as Arthur C. Clarke once put it, "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."

And he wasn't wrong, either. The feats that non-standard energy can achieve are simply incredible, as they can allow a giant humanoid robot to move with the grace of a normal Human without sinking into the ground or falling into many pieces, and this energy is also nearly infinite in the amount it can supply. This is another well-documented property of this force, as non-standard DE energy, while limited by how much of a reserve an individual possesses, is otherwise infinite in its usage.

But beyond all that, it's still very much unknown just what else this invisible force can achieve. However, I can provide examples of this energy being harnessed by regular beings in ways you probably never thought.


[Exotic Examples]:

I'm sure you've heard of those stories of mothers lifting cars to save their babies, or survivors of tragic accidents miraculously surviving despite all evidence pointing towards an untimely demise. These can all be attributed to them somehow gaining brief access to their reserves of non-standard DE energy to enhance their physical well-being for very specific conditions. It's not known how or why, since this doesn't always apply, but we're continuing to look into this phenomenon.

Now, there is often talk about lights in the sky, and alien visitations, but we've put extensive research into this, and we've found a very simple and somewhat unsatisfying answer. What people think they see is actually their non-standard DE energy conjuring up more physical representations of something they're thinking of. The more well-known such phenomena are, the more likely it is for more people to generate these false images.

But you wanna know the craziest example? Ghosts. That's right, ghosts. But once again, non-standard DE energy makes the once superstitious now explainable. People definitely aren't imagining things. Okay, maybe on a few occasions. But when they aren't imagining, the explanation isn't as satisfying as one would hope. In reality, these "ghosts" are lingering manifestations of a deceased individual's non-standard DE energy, which, as we know, is linked to their consciousness. Although we don't know the conditions for this phenomenon, we do know that this is the case for the many ghost sightings that aren't hoaxes or just the imagination.
