  1. You read what is written on a personal journal:
  2. "Cryptic prophecies and a ritual to heal Eternium--Valnuary 581", By Chardrin Djinnai (Page 1)
  3. Greetings,
  4. After discovering that the space allotted within a news post is very
  5. similar to that alloted on one page of a journal, I have opted to
  6. attempt posting this to the news again...in multiple parts. This log is
  7. missing a section in the middle where we were searching the realms for
  8. clues...a period that I was not able to accurately note since we were
  9. all over everywhere. Further, I took the liberty to remove extraneous
  10. vial sipping, camel snorting, market calling..et cetera. Otherwise, it
  11. is chronological. I have, in a few instances, broken the flow to include
  12. short visual descriptions of people invovled. Anyway, I hope you find
  13. this informative.
  14.
  15. With purrs of sincerity,
  16. Chardrin Djinnai
  17.
  18. ***Location***
  19. Placid pond in the Dryad Garden.
  20. A deep spring must feed the pond directly below, for the milky blue
  21. water boils happily. The movement of the water from the deep depths has
  22. attracted a half-dozen monstrous trout, which swim lazily in the turbid
  23. currents, waiting for their next meal. A small moth accidentally lands
  24. on the surface of the pond, and in a blaze of speed, the trout all
  25. converge in a frenzy of motion as they fight over the minuscule insect.
  26. Overhead, the grey limestone of the bluff looms like a stone umbrella,
  27. adding to the deep shadows of the pool. The chill from the water has
  28. cooled the air considerably, and the grotto overhang helps contain the
  29. cold and keep it from being warmed by the sun. Tiny droplets of moisture
  30. have condensed on the walls of the grotto, twinkling in the reflected

  33. light off the water. A kelp plant waves in the currents. An ivory lily
  34. bobs at the surface of a small pond of crystal-clear water, marking the
  35. placement of a shrine to Kastalia. A giant white lily sits atop a
  36. vibrant green lilypad. The Old Man of the River stands here, relying
  37. heavily on his staff for support. A cowled figure leans heavily upon an
  38. ornate pair of metal crutches. The Red Dragon Awan's imposing form
  39. looms. You see exits leading north, south, and down.
  40.
  41. Zaphar, the Old Man of the River says, "Greetings, dear Awan."
  42.
  43. Anachaine Ambassador Awan Komhora says, "Greetings." You bow
  44. respectfully to Zaphar, the Old Man of the River.
  45.
  46. Zaphar, the Old Man of the River bows respectfully to you.
  47.
  48. ***description of cowled figure***
  49. Slouched over metal supports, this concealed figure is of a contorted
  50. build. Salient bones jut forth from within the heavy layers of fabric
  51. that envelope a slight frame. Bulging, amphibious eyes gleam with a
  52. wizened gaze from within a deep hood. Gripping their slender handles in
  53. a tight embrace, the figure's gnarled form leans heavily on a pair of
  54. ornate crutches, the burnished metal engraved with the intricate
  55. depiction of a blooming water lily. A cowled figure looks to be
  56. crushingly strong.
  57. He weighs about 134 pounds.
  58. He is loyal to Kastalia.
  59. You see nothing in it.
  60.
  61. You bow respectfully to a cowled figure.

  65. Zaphar, the Old Man of the River says, "I... I am unsure, truly, what to
  66. say."
  67.
  68. With a quiet rush of wind, Bastionne glides in from the ether.
  69.
  70. A cowled figure smirks.
  71.
  72. Penwize clasps his hands before himself and performs a simple,
  73. respectful bow.
  74.
  75. Comprehension flashes across Zaphar, the Old Man of the River's face.
  76.
  77. A cowled figure says, "Fear not, devoted of Nature. I come only as a
  78. messenger, travelling from within the great mists in hopes of preparing
  79. you for the inevitable."
  80.
  81. You say with a low purring accent, "The inevitable?"
  82.
  83. A cowled figure smirks at you.
  84.
  85. You say with a low purring accent, "What is to occur?"
  86.
  87. Penwize smiles softly.
  88.
  89. A gateway of light blazes into existence before your eyes.
  90.
  91. A cowled figure says, "Hear you not the great prophecy?"
  92.
  93. Aodfionn arrives from the ether.
  94.

  97. A cowled figure says, "You have no reason to trust me, nor do you have
  98. reason to believe me, however..."
  99.
  100. Champion Penwize Baker, the Relentless says, "Afraid most prophecies get
  101. called great these days."
  102.
  103. You say with a low purring accent, "Personally, I have not. I slept for
  104. a very long time."
  105.
  106. Anachaine Ambassador Awan Komhora mutters, "Nor t. ..de...and..."
  107.
  108. Champion Penwize Baker, the Relentless says, "I admit to some trouble
  109. discerning which are truly great and which are merely exaggerated."
  110.
  111. Champion Penwize Baker, the Relentless says to a cowled figure, "To
  112. which do you refer?"
  113.
  114. A cowled figure says, "Indeed. Many are full of falsities and slander.
  115. Many take the sacred art of prophecy, and desecrate it..."
  116.
  117. With a loud expulsion of air, the portal collapses upon itself and
  118. disappears.
  119.
  120. You say with a low purring accent, "Would you be so kind as to enlighten
  121. us concerning this profecy?"
  122.
  123. You cough softly.
  124.
  125. You say with a low purring accent, "Prophecy even."

  129. A cowled figure says, "The great voice of the earth fell on deaf ears?
  130. Such a pity."
  131.
  132. Anachaine Ambassador Awan Komhora says to a cowled figure, "Likely not
  133. deaf so much as confused."
  134.
  135. A cowled figure smirks.
  136.
  137. A cowled figure says, "Then, do allow me to explain..."
  138.
  139. A cowled figure says, "I swear to you, on the waters of Eternity, that
  140. you may trust my words..."
  141.
  142. Awan brightens.
  143.
  144. You tilt your head and listen intently.
  145.
  146. The robe surrounding the figure falls, and sinks into the water below.
  147.
  148. Aodfionn frowns slightly, his gaze shifting to Awan for a moment before
  149. her affixes his eyes on the cowled figure.
  150.
  151. ***description of uncowled Zanb'hu***
  152. Slouched over metal supports, this youthful Tethysi possesses a slight,
  153. contorted build. Attenuated flesh pulls taut over salient bones, his
  154. pale complexion awash with an azure shimmer; the fragile skin is eerily
  155. translucent, revealing prominent veins within. Bulging, amphibious eyes
  156. gleam with a wizened gaze, dominating his masculine countenance. Rich
  157. garments of heavy satin don his hunched frame, vibrant swathes of fabric
  158. wrapping tightly about his limbs in coruscating patterns of colour.

  161. Gripping their slender handles in a tight embrace, his gnarled form
  162. leans heavily on a pair of ornate crutches, the burnished metal engraved
  163. with the intricate depiction of a blooming water lily.
  164. Zamb'hu looks to be crushingly strong.
  165.
  166. Comprehension flashes across Zaphar, the Old Man of the River's face.
  167.
  168. Awan furrows her brow.
  169.
  170. Zaphar, the Old Man of the River lowers his head respectfully before
  171. Zamb'hu.
  172.
  173. Zamb'hu smiles softly at Zaphar, the Old Man of the River.
  174.
  175. Zamb'hu says, "Unfortunately... I do fear that there is little time to
  176. explain..."
  177.
  178. Zamb'hu carefully shifts his weight.
  179.
  180. Zamb'hu says, "The great prophecy that echoed throughout the lands..
  181. I... am not privy to what it means in its entirety, however when such
  182. matters are thrown about so carelessly it suggests that perhaps it is
  183. not something to take lightly."
  184.
  185. Zamb'hu says, "You are... confused as to the meaning? Did you hear it,
  186. entirely?"
  187.
  188. You say with a low purring accent, "I did not, I am sorry to say."
  189.
  190. Zamb'hu frowns slightly.

  193.
  194. Aodfionn nods his head at Zamb'hu.
  195.
  196. Oaken Hand, Aodfionn Kuka'ilimoku, Ithmian Squire says, "May I ask if
  197. you know of the "birth right" that was mentioned?"
  198.
  199. Zamb'hu says, "I can only theorise... However, the very fact that it
  200. mentions the current indicates to me that the Lady is being referenced.
  201. This is, with
  202. Her loyalty lying within your home, to be considered your domain."
  203.
  204. Zaphar, the Old Man of the River nods his head at Zamb'hu.
  205.
  206. Anachaine Ambassador Awan Komhora says, "Zambu'hu the Lady - Lady
  207. Kastalia?"
  208.
  209. Zamb'hu says, "The daughter of the mighty Ocean Lord and the luminous
  210. Trisagia, Kastalia is the Lady of the River."
  211.
  212. Zamb'hu says, "Recognised as the undivided ternion, Kastalia is the
  213. Hydra of the Torrent, the Phantom of the Vapour, and the Seer of the
  214. Vortex. This only brushes upon the surface, Awan. There is, of course,
  215. much to be learned about the watery Queen."
  216.
  217. Zamb'hu says, "I am honoured to be linked to Her as I am, and so too are
  218. the Fluvadha'thi."
  219.
  220. Zamb'hu smiles softly.
  221.
  222. Awan inclines her head politely at Zaphar, the Old Man of the River.

  228. Zamb'hu says, "I... Yes."
  229.
  230. You say with a low purring accent, "The Fluvadha'thi?"
  231.
  232. Zamb'hu smiles softly at you.
  233.
  234. Zamb'hu says, "All in good time, devotee of Nature. I swear to you."
  235.
  236. A splash of water startles you as the grinning face of a dryad bobs up
  237. from the water near you.
  238.
  239. Zamb'hu says, "I have been lucky, I must admit."
  240.
  241. Zamb'hu says, "Since She left the realms of the mundane to explore the
  242. very depths of our realms, I have been gaining knowledge on Her."
  243.
  244. Zamb'hu says, "It has been... tough, to say the least. She is a complex
  245. Goddess..."
  246.
  247. Zamb'hu smirks.
  248.
  249. Zamb'hu says, "The great prophecy that floated through the firmament, I
  250. do believe that this references the great Lady."
  251.
  252. Zamb'hu says, "I am not one to dance in the public eye, and as such I do
  253. expect you to keep this encounter private..."

  257. You say with a low purring accent, "As you wish."
  258.
  259. Zamb'hu says, "However, should it involve Her... I believe it of great
  260. importance. It is the only reason I stand before you."
  261.
  262. Anachaine Ambassador Awan Komhora says, "Do you think She returns to
  263. this realm? Or something else?"
  264.
  265. Aodfionn nods solemnly before grunting quietly. Zamb'hu furrows his
  266. brow, deep in thought.
  267.
  268. Zamb'hu says, "I think... rather, something else."
  269.
  270. Awan frowns worriedly.
  271.
  272. Zamb'hu says, "Such events have never been so publicly voiced, and it
  273. is...unnerving, to say the least."
  274.
  275. Zamb'hu says, "I am not privy to the meaning of the prophecy... and I am
  276. certainly in no position to explore all of the options."
  277.
  278. Champion Penwize Baker, the Relentless says, "Explore all of the
  279. options? What do you mean by that?"
  280.
  281. Zamb'hu says, "Did... did one of you record the prophecy? Perhaps we
  282. could review it?"
  283.
  284. Aodfionn nods his head emphatically.

  292. Champion Penwize Baker, the Relentless says, "If it's what you're
  293. referring to.... "Let the great truths unfold, hidden beneath shattered
  294. glass - none shall be spared from the impending sacrifice. Melancholy
  295. runs deep within the sacred current! Woe to those who ignore the great

  304.
  305. Aodfionn sticks his tongue out and says, "Ack."
  306.
  307. Zaphar, the Old Man of the River nods his head slowly.
  308.
  309. Aodfionn ponders the situation.

  313.
  314. Zaphar, the Old Man of the River says, "Hidden...hidden beneath

  323. revelations."
  324.
  325. Aodfionn grunts noncommittally.
  326.
  327. Champion Penwize Baker, the Relentless says, "It was prefaced with "Lo,
  328. the twinned revelations unite!" but I imagine that was just
  329. introduction."
  330.
  331. Awan snorts disbelievingly.
  332.
  333. Anachaine Ambassador Awan Komhora says, "If they're twins, shouldn't
  334. there be two?"
  335.
  336. Zaphar, the Old Man of the River exclaims, "Twinned? If it is 'twinned'
  337. then surely there... yes, exactly!"
  338.
  339. Zaphar, the Old Man of the River creases his brow in a frown.
  340.
  341. You say with a low purring accent, "Shattered glass...ice?"
  342.
  343. Oaken Hand, Aodfionn Kuka'ilimoku, Ithmian Squire says, "Meaning, we
  344. have only heard one half of this."
  345.
  346. Zaphar, the Old Man of the River says, "If I were sceptical of you,
  347. Zamb'hu...I would believe you a mercenary of Lord Twilight."
  348.
  349. Anachaine Ambassador Awan Komhora says, "Or, there were two revelations
  350. before, and now this is the newly united version."

  357. Zamb'hu says, "I do not scream of prophecies, dear Zaphar. I merely...
  358. question them."
  359.
  360. Awan blows twin spurts of fire out of her nostrils in apparent
  361. irritation.
  362.
  363. With an eerie flicker, the hunched form of Zamb'hu wavers upon the
  364. incorporeal.
  365.
  366. Zamb'hu winces, his eyes closing for a brief moment.
  367.
  368. Zamb'hu says, "My ability to remain with you is quickly fading..."
  369.
  370. Zamb'hu creases his brow in a frown.

  376.
  377. Zamb'hu says, "Please, you must hurry... If the prophecy links to the
  378. Lady in even the most remote of ways, then it must be deciphered. If you
  379. need to speak with me, then -."

  453. Zaphar, the Old Man of the River says, "I know of only two Divine who

  455.
  456. Awan furrows her brow.
  457.
  458. Anachaine Ambassador Awan Komhora says, "And what could the 'great

  462. Zaphar, the Old Man of the River creases his brow in a frown.
  463.
