- They fell down a ravine when they were just an infant but managed to survive because a passing minotaur managed to catch them.
- They recognized the crest on the infant's blanket but decided that...a baby isn't responsible for the sins of their parents and decided to raise them.
- turns out the minotaur was one of the "Royal Family" of minotaurs. Royalty for this race is more or less being the best family of blacksmiths in their community as well as being the oldest family. Around that time the King and Queen had just had a child so they and the child grew up together.
- the family treated them like their son and due to their skill being renowned across the land, monsters of many kinds and species would pass through and meet the kid, so the kid came to love monsters as a whole and fully committed themselves to understanding and getting along with them.
- They even met the Kunoichi and Ninja of the Dark Elves and came to enjoy hearing of their exploits and prowess and soon came to want to learn how to fight like them.
- So when they came of age to start learning a trade, they started going down the path of becoming a blacksmith at first but then the king and queen noticed how they'd look at the kunoichi and listen to their stories and...pulled some strings and got them accepted into the Dark Elves's ninja training. This would be the first time they had ever been away from their home so they gave him a crystal which would allow them to communicate over long distances so they could keep up with each other.
- They expanded their horizons far more underneath the dark elves's training and learned a variety of ninja techniques, specializing mostly in physical Taijutsu techniques as well as Ninjutsu, not having that much of an aptitude for illusions but still learning more than a few illusion-based tricks despite that. What made them unique among their peers however was that they used a hammer and dagger as their weaponry, the dagger being the first thing they had ever made as a smith and the hammer being the tool they used to make it. This unique form of weaponry among the Dark Elves made them...a bit of a meme and a talk among the ninja clans but...eventually the time came for them to head back home, having finished their training. They met their beloved brother halfway through their trip, the beloved and friendly prince of the Minotaurs "Azrael" or by his better know embarrassing nickname "Prince Loppyfluff" due to their fluffy lop ears. Azrael gave a gift to their brother, a mastercrafted dagger that had the insignia of the royal family on it and in return, they gave Azrael a locket with a picture of themselves and their family in it and set off for home.
- Unfortunately what awaited them was ruin, their home was under attack by the same monster hunting group that Kyara had been born into and they had come to bring Kyara back, they ran through secret passages to the throne room where they found the king and queen fighting off some nameless mooks, they helped fight them off and afterwards led the king and queen down into a secret passage, but as they turned with Azrael bringing up the rear, disaster struck as a man....struck Azrael in the back with a magic monster-slaying blade, as Azrael fell the man walked forward and revealed himself as Kyara's father. Kyara, driven by grief and sorrow, ignored their birth-father's monologue and with a ferocity and mercilessness trained by the Dark Elves...struck him down in a single blow, their hammer that they had used for years breaking upon their skull, wounding them enough that they were dragged off by the rest of the monster hunting clan while Kyara was distracted. They took up their now dying brother's hammer and with a cold mercilessness drove their birth family from the castle. They vowed to return and bring Kyara back into the fold but this night served to nuture a hatred of humanity in Kyara's heart that still persists to this day. Their brother barely survived the encounter and recovered for months afterward. A year or two after this happened, a group of human ambassadors from the human world's government came forward and struck up a peace treaty, creating the interspecies cultural exchange program, the first two members of this chosen were Kyara and their brother Azrael despite Kyara's insistence that they needed to stay to protect their parents, part of the agreement meant that a force of hand-picked monsters and humans were chosen to protect the royal family in the princes's absence and so Kyara and Azrael made their way to the modern human world where even now they're adapting to.
