  1. Simplified Explanation of Slippi Champions League for EE
  2.
  3. Slippi Champions League runs for 4 weeks. Each week, two divisions of competitors fight each other within their divisions (for the most part). This is what's referred to by Division 1 and Division 2.
  4.
  5. Division 1 is one bracket, single elimination. Division 2 is not a bracket, but rather a collection of a bunch of individual head-to-head matches. Division 1 sits above Division 2.
  6.
  7. If you start in Division 1, you play out your typical bracket for the grand prize.
  8. The 4 highest placing players of Division 1 will stay in Division 1 for the next week.
  9. The 4 other players risk falling out of Division 1. They are forced to play a "Division 1 Relegation Match" against a player from Division 2 who won one match in Division 2. Whoever wins this match will get to start in Division 1 the next week. Whoever loses will start in Division 2 the next week.
  10.
  11. All of those players are done playing their matches. They will return at next week's Slippi Champions League.
  12.
  13. If you start in Division 2, you play a match against someone else in Division 2. The winner of this match proceeds into the match I mentioned earlier in the previous paragraph, and I've already explained what will happen to the winners and losers of that match.
  14. However, if you lose that first match of Division 2, you risk falling out of the League entirely. If you want to stay in, you must play a "Division 2 Relegation Match" against someone who has qualified into Division 2 via Rollback Rumble (Saturday's Melee tournament whose top 4 placers qualify for the League). Whoever wins this Division 2 Relegation Match will start in Division 2 the next week. Whoever loses this Division 2 Relegation Match is kicked out of the League.
  15.
  16. Hopefully that explanation clears everything up. A deeper understanding of how this format works will help you enjoy the League more, and I want you to enjoy what you're watching as much as possible.
