  1. Ah. This one was familiar.
  2.
  3. Upon an onyx gale was a Captain of the Achyon's Hand would stop the Task's exiting through the city gates. Upon its walls an assortment of Bronze Caps would look down to see Dimitri getting right into that masked face of Tartarus.
  4.
  5. That amber eye seemed to pierce the vale, focusing past the blank mask's pupils to stare right into the Razuka's eyes. They said the eyes were windows to the soul, and it appeared to be true.
  6.
  7. As he could feel his spiritual core being observed.
  8.
  9. ". .so, traveling through our fair city, I see."
  10. (Dimitri Asimov)
  11. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  12. Tartarus had been in his way out of the city for another mining trip; such was the way of his determined industry after all. Every coin added up in a thick enough bundle the way he reckoned it. Yet, the onyx gale of Captain Asimov manifested almost like a stormfront upon his arrival to the gates. The amber eye matching Tartarus' own hazel ones from the depths of his bear hat.
  13.
  14. The Task stood his ground, unshaken by the arrival of the fiddler as he would place a fresh cigarette in his mouth, a sudden reminder of the prodding games the musician had made of his heart and soul with his dread chords. He did appear amused.
  15.
  16. If his spiritual core was being observed, then Dimitri would stare upon a vast ocean of apathy.
  17.
  18. "Traveling, shopping, chatting, the usual things one does when travelling to and fro from the city. As I oft do when handling business with Captain Marcel."
  19.
  20. The Task seemed utterly calm all things considered.
  21.
  22. "What, gonna try and kidnap me on a whim and fail? Sure that'll go over well."
  23. (Tartarus Task)
  24. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  25. Dimitri Asimov says, "I'm simply making something clear. You're welcome to do business in our city, the moment you cause issues elsewhere? I'll have you repurposed."
  26. ad from sheer anger. It wasn't easy to swallow this kind of fury for the young man, and yet he'd maintain his gaze with Captain Asimov as he continued to puff away on his cigarette.
  27.
  28. "Ironic coming from you, mentioning being repurposed elsewhere after causing trouble. Did you not do the same in a rampage before kissing the Don's ring? I'll take notes."
  29.
  30. The Task would appear to grit his teeth at that one. Taking a deep breathe, he'd slowly come himself down inch by inch.
  31.
  32. "If I cause issues elsewhere, you'll be the first to hear about it chief. Pinky promise."
  33. (Tartarus Task)
  34. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  35.
  36. Watching Tartarus' soul roil in anger and fury was noticed, the sea of apathy becoming a terrible sea of emotion and vitriol. The Razuka could note that Dimitri obviously knew what was going on, an amused smirk coming to his lips.
  37.
  38. Even as he spoke about irony.
  39.
  40. "The rampage was unrelated to the Don. Kissing the ring was a simple solution to a rather massive setback made previously before such an instance.
  41.
  42. I had a wife to think about, and I'd not make her watch my head roll for not swallowing my pride."
  43.
  44. The chin of the mask was grasped with tight digits as he continued. His amber orb soon was consumed by that endless inky darkness. ". .and now my pride has flowered into something beyond belief, and I'll not allow it to be spat upon by some punk.
  45.
  46. You can cause your chaos towards any of the other primitives of this intrepid continent- but keep Achyonites out of it. Or I'll have your head on my wall.
  47.
  48. Are we clear?"
  49. (Dimitri Asimov)
  50. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  51.
  52. If Tartarus appeared perfectly calm before, the continued prodding of Dimitri was not unlike adding burning coals to boiling water. The Task practically visibly steamed at being talked down to by this violinist creep. Even now, it seemed to take all of his will not to throw a right hook right at the smarmy bastard's face.
  53.
  54. That's what he wanted after all. To get in Tartarus' head, force him to act how he desired.
  55.
  56. "Whatever helps you sleep at night, not my pride being sold for convenience and safety."
  57.
  58. The bear would grit his teeth steadily as he stared Asimov down, his breathing becoming a bit less focused for the anger that had now pervaded his form.
  59.
  60. As those helheimic digits clasped the chin of the young man's mask however, he'd feel something almost snap in his head. Like a tense cord of wire drawn to its absolute limit, as if even a bit more could push him over the edge. As if he required active focus to relieved this gathering tension.
  61.
  62. "Whatever it's flowered into, it still stinks up close."
  63.
  64. The Task would seem to stare Dimitri down at that, hazel eyes to amber as simmered with fury.
  65.
  66. "We're clear. This head ain't yours to put on a wall."
  67. (Tartarus Task)
  68. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  69.
  70. "Good."
  71.
  72. The grasp upon his mask was dropped as the man floated a step back. A nonchalant motion of his hand would shoo the Razuka off.
  73.
  74. "Now get out of my sight before you explode, I'd not want to get the blood and vicera all over my freshly cleaned uniform."
  75.
  76.
  77. And that was all she wrote, this time. He knew that leaving it short and sweet like this would leave the bear-headed fellow absolutely roiling the moment he stepped a fair distance away. To be honest he was waiting to hear the angry screaming.
  78. (Dimitri Asimov)
  79. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  80. Tartarus was waiting for Captain Asimov to grow angry. To strike him. To draw first blood and satisfy the Task's own mind games. And yet, the grizzled Captain had outplayed him entirely. It was as if he'd received a haymaker to the face when the Captain just said good, he'd have preferred to be shot to something as....dissatisfying as that.
  81.
  82. There'd be no relief to this fury here. No, now it was even WORSE.
  83.
  84. At being told to get out of his sight with a lidded threat, the Task would raise a finger with a twitch of burning hot fury, seeming to almost shake and spasm in place as he almost choked on the black bile of his raw anger.
  85.
  86. He couldn't even make a comeback. It WAS a nice uniform. God DAMMIT.
  87.
  88. Without another word, the bear would pace off out of Achyon into the distance, which if Dimitri kept an eye upon the Task, he'd be able to follow him all the way to the distant treeline, where after a brief delay.
  89.
  90. A scream as loud as a high grade explosion was released into the distance.
  91.
  92. "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK."
  93. (Tartarus Task)
