[a bit deflated] Oh you're packing up now...yeah that- that makes sense. I didn't see too many people around here.

[mood picking up] Oh- I, um...I'd love to sit and chat for a while...if you'll have me.

I can spare some time now, yeah.

So...[nervous chuckle] this isn't something- I mean...you don't get many people that do this, do you? Or maybe you do, I don't know...I think you're talented enough that lots of people would want to talk to you.

Yeah I thought...I figured that I would come and say hi today. You weren't playing...and there wasn't anybody else around so...yeah.

It's, uh...it's not the first time I've wanted to but...it's the first time I've had the chance. I'm always coming past on my way to work. Today was probably a coincidence that I caught you at this time.

Mhm. Every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday! I always see you playing here in the morning.

[flustered] Oh, you- you've noticed me? Like, um...what exactly do you mean by that?

Yeah...I- I do...I do always drop a little something in your guitar case when I walk past [nervous chuckle]

Oh my gosh you noticed that too. [groan] I thought-...aren't you supposed to be focused on playing? Not on...me...

[whiny] How could you even *see* that?

[sigh] It's the same amount every time, yes.

It's...it's what I pay for my coffee.

Well, it's just...[deep breath] [sort of blurting it out] ok...it's just that hearing you play on my way to work makes my day so much better. It's a huge boost to my mood.

Really. It's great seeing you in the mornings.

I mean, um...no wait, I mean I *don't* mean...[sigh]

Anyway, so I wanted to try and return the favour. And I don't know...it felt like...like I was buying you a coffee before work. Almost like...*we*...were getting a coffee before work.

[under your breath] I...said that. Why did I *say* that.

[to listener] [flustered] Listen, ok, um...I am *super* sorry if that was a bit...presumptuous. I didn't really know what else I could do, like...in passing, so I- I only meant it to be a cute little gesture and- [groan] [whiny] I'm ruining thi-isss.


Oh! Then, um...I hope you enjoyed...the coffee. [nervous chuckle]

[kind of mumbling] Maybe...maybe we could *actually* get a coffee together sometime?

[apologetic] Nonono, of course not. I don't mean that. Going out for coffee with you would be...great. [swooning sigh] It would be great.

So, um...oh yeah! I've always wanted to know this, but the uh, the songs you play...are they covers? Because I've recognised a couple, but mostly I've only ever heard *you* playing them.

Mhm. I'm always interested in what other people listen to.

I-...wait that sounds a bit weird, doesn't it? I promise I'm only talking about music.

It's a nice way to expand my taste. And I enjoy *your* playing, so maybe you could introduce me to some new stuff?

But do you play anywhere else? Or um, what's got you doing this so often?

[gasp] I know that place! I didn't know they had live music.

Wow. So you play there? With a band or are you like...a cool solo act?

You play with a band as well? That's...huh. Double wow then.

I've always seen you play solo, that's why. It must be really fun.

Um...ok! I could...sure, I could come by one night...probably? Like, if you're inviting me then, uh...sure. I'd be really happy to see you play live.

Yeah I- I guess I do already see that, huh? But you know what I mean.

If you have a steady gig like that then why do you come out here? Not- not that I'm complaining or anything, god no. Just, um- I'm just curious, is all.

I have a guitar at home...[under your breath] honestly who doesn't? [to listener] But I'm, uh...I haven't practiced in a while. Not that I was that good to begin with.

And I like singing, but not like...uh...nope, singing to myself when I'm alone in my apartment doesn't...really...count...[nervous chuckle]

No it doesn't! And my voice is not lovely oh my *god*.

[very flustered] What? No. What?

No I can't- I'm not- I don't think I can sing for you right now. Or maybe...ever? And *definitely* not in public like this. No way I'm that confident.

I *did* say that, but...[short sigh] ok listen, when I'm at home, the only things that can judge me are my plants! [softer] And hoo boy if you heard the things they have...[nervous chuckle]

Yeah, so um, maybe no singing? From me? Ok?

[changing the subject] A-Anyways, shouldn't you be packing up your gear? I could even help you, seeing as how I made you late and all.

Nononono what? You're going to miss your next thing if you stay any longer.

I know I asked when I first came up to you, but are you sure?
