  1. proposed outline for forrest document:
  2. preferred: 1, preferably without writing the entire sequence out. it might be him ruminating on the events leading up to the (present) of meeting the demon, the deal, and then cut to the aftermath where they all talk to the cops?
  3.
  4. 1) summer thriller blockbuster
  5. - not a real teen party, but you know the set up. bunch of just graduated dumbass punks go into a haunted mansion or have a get together, and talk about summoning a demon/monster/whatever. this, of course, works and things go horribly, horribly wrong. it'd be a loving parody, almost. forrest is the jock. maybe he dies in the car crash, but honestly i feel if we do want to go "darker" with him (which i do) then having him willingly accept a contract, or hell, even be the one who got nudged into technically summoning the what he thought was a fake demon, or counter summoning another demon to save his friends, or what, would be an interesting twist. he gets elbowed into it, sure, because when he's that young this is the most "worthwhile" reason he's gonna get but yeah. his friends probably survive, but they also don't necessarily have to, bc it doesn't really matter for me.
  6.
  7. - what really happened: you could go with that it was a literal demon who decided to fuck around with some kids, but i personally prefer that they ended up summoning a baby horrorterror (either sin or virtue) who they think is a demon - baby only because otherwise the entire place would be fuckin decimated. anyway, demon comes around to help deal with the situation and tries to patch it up the best they can, and in the meantime offers forrest a deal, if we go that route. it's just, y'know, a demon who's willing to kill a bunch of kids is very unlikely to take forrest under contract in the first place. we could paint it in that light, though.
  8.
  9. - why forrest? he probably had to be the one who did the joke summoning, thinking it wasn't a big deal. except, y'know, he's forrest. he implicitly has some magic affinity in him. but because he's human, and unwitting, and young, and doesn't know what he's doing, it actually works. it can't simply be because he's human, bc otherwise every single ambitious human that tries to summon the devil and succeeds gets their little baby horrorterror too. it was just a slapdash job that he didn't even realize he was doing, and just got lucky that a demon got summoned with it. bad luck, really.
  10.
  11.
  12. 2) forrest and the men in his life
  13. - in the same way that seb has a gimmick, and in the other way that i can give yvonne the optional gimmick of seasons and madi the gimmick of... well, she might not have one. but that can still be in a gimmick in itself bc she's that young. but anyway.
  14. - feels a little more like filler hmhm, like yeah there's toxic masc and stuff but we can show that fine in the horror movie tm too.
  15. - his dad/family members
  16. - his school friends
  17. - the doctor
  18. - the hunter (?)
  19. - ?? others??
  20.
  21.
  22. 3) c-c-c-c-combo
  23. - could be in chrono order, could be out of it
  24. - just adds on meeting the demon in shorter form at either in the middle (assuming it's father, friends, demon, doc, etc.) or at the very end.
  25.
  26. meta wise:
  27. - if we do 1 or 3, we get to see Actual Demons do Demony Things aka make a contract, or at least show up with the implication that "oh." We don't really touch base on this a lot in the main story or in the other bonuses so i think it'd be great foreshadowing!
  28. - we also get to see some very subtle foreshadowing featuring some stuff that will eventually be obvious that "oh, shit, the demon wasn't the one killing everyone" if we go that route. it's mostly a bonus for ev route stuff.
