  7. Time and Stress Management
  8. To improve time management, I need to prioritize my tasks properly. We should avoid wasting time on trivial things but focus on things that are beneficial to ourselves greatly (9 Time Management Issues, 15 Time Stealers & Achieving Your Goals, n.d.). I always want to learn many things in a day. However, I cannot achieve that because of limited time as well as limited energy. If I force myself to do all the things in a day, I feel stressed and do not have a sense of accomplishment afterward. In a long-term period, I might lose the passion for learning. Therefore, prioritizing my tasks can keep myself focus on the important tasks. I’ll know the goal of my learning each day. Hence, even if I do not do all of the work in my checklist, I still feel good about the progress because every second I use my time efficaciously.
  9. I’ll learn how to say no to better my time management. Many people are afraid of upsetting their coworkers, losing their jobs or their value to the team by saying no (Shriar J., 2016). I also agree with the idea that when you say yes to someone’s request, you’re also saying no to something else (Shriar J., 2016). I used to intend to please the people around me and try my best not to upset anyone. However, I learn that saying no doesn’t mean I will lose the friendship with someone. I just need to say that clearly and let others understand my situation. By doing so, I can manage my time well without interruptions from others and use my time more effectively.
  10. Stress is inevitable even if I have a perfect time management. To cope with stress, I usually transmute my problems into something positive for my personal growth (Stress Management, n.d.). For example, whenever I’m assigned a difficult task at work, I don’t view them as something arduous but an opportunity to learn something new and worthwhile. In this way, there is no stress to me. I can work efficiently and tackle problems while knowing I’m improving my skills every time.
