Employee Ethics Meeting

Covet: -Eli had closed the shop early so they could have this meeting. He had a clip board with some envelopes and a few other papers with some notes attached to it. He was standing by the couch and table and part of the daytime and swing crew were there as well waiting to start the meeting-
Tsaaq: Bliss came from the office with her ipad in hand and some print outs herself, sitting down on the sofa as she glanced at Eli. "We're starting soon, right?" She asked him.
Alexithymiaa: -Adam milled around by the couches, his hands shoved down into his pockets as he shifted his weight from one foot to the other, his eyes focusing on the scuff marks on the toes of his boots.-
Covet: Yes, we are. I think everyone that's said they were going to be here is here. Everyone get comfy, I'll try to make this as quick as possible. I know it's late for some of you. -Eli said looking around at the faces, he saw that Bliss had some papers in her hand.-
Tsaaq: She gave him a firm nod of her head. She crossed one leg over the other, putting the handouts on the coffee table and resting her iPad in her lap while she listened to Eli.
Alexithymiaa: -Adam moved to take a seat down on the couch amongst the other employees, folding his hands neatly in his lap as he watched Eli.-
Covet: -Eli looked at everyone and continued- Alright. So Productivity and Ethics meeting. Just touching base with everyone and discussing the year as a whole. You guys have been awesome sales reps, and have been helping this whole thing run swimmingly. We've had a couple of bumps and upsets here and there, but in general we've been staing pretty steady. Steady's not good enough though. So we've really got to push sales. That should be pretty easy, with the holiday. We've got lots of gift sets that will pull in that extra dollar. -He stood there walking a little bit while he talked.-
Tsaaq: Bliss nodded along while Eli spoke, keeping her eyes on him as she held onto her iPad in her lap.
Alexithymiaa: -Adam shifted a little in his seat, half expecting a bit of scolding to come with a meeting like this as he just listened.-
Covet: That should get us off to a good foot for the next year. Next I want to say, with that level of sales, we need to keep on the general cleaning, and organization around here. Especially in the archives. I went in there one day and it was just a complete mess. I spent a weekend making sure it was all put back in order. It's simple Genre and alphabatizing. Just keep an eye on it, that's all I'm asking. It's going to get a little chaotic around here over the holidays.
Tsaaq: She looked at the other employees a moment and bit the inside of her lower lip, resisting the urger to raise her hand like there were in class or something.
Alexithymiaa: -Adam nodded absently with Eli's words, tapping his foot on the floor because he knew that shit was a mess and he didn't do anything to fix it.-
Covet: -Eli went on to his next tangent before he asked if anyone had any questions- We're going to be getting a lot more traffic in here as well, with kids and adults alike. So I really need you all to be on your best employee behavior, and putting your best attitude forward when on the sales floor. Leave any and all outside drama at the door, or if you need to have a discussion, take it into the office. More traffic also means more shopplifting  is going to happen. Keep an eye on people that look a little suspicious, hovering, watching for employees, making a direct line to the exit after being in the shop, without stopping at the register... that sort of thing. Now...Anyone have any questions?
Tsaaq: Bliss' hand shot up before even waiting for Eli to pick her. "Do you think setting up a reward type system for employees would encourage a higher work ethic?" She asked, though it sounded more like a suggestion than a question.
Alexithymiaa: -Adam went to raise his hand, slowly lowering it when Bliss spoke. He considered her words for a moment, tipping his head to one side and swinging his glance back to Eli.-
Covet: Yes, I do. And We're going to implement that over the holidays by having a sales challenge. To test the waters a bit and then we can adjust it for a monthly thing. Now the Holiday sales push will be added up each for each employee and we'll have it posted in the back to keep track. With that, there's going to be a quartely goal party If we make a set number in profit that we determine will be the goal, We'll throw out some movie passes or come up with a day we can all take off and go do something fun. -He looked to Adam and pointed at him- Yes Adam?
Tsaaq: Bliss began to applaud softly, beaming with excitement. She opened her mouth to speak again then closed it once more, looking over at Adam one Eli called on him.
Tsaaq: ((once*))
Alexithymiaa: "Oh. I was just curious what type of procedure you wanted in place for suspected shoplifters. Do you want us to confront them, or just alert you or... do something else?"-
Covet: If you catch them while still in the shop, confront them and see if you can get it back. If you don't feel comfortable with it, let me or another employee who is comfortable adressing the issue, help out. If it escalates further than that, then we'll be getting the cops involved anyways. I don't want to have to ban anyone from the shop. But I have noticed a little bit of an increase in the cases of missing items. -He looked back to Bliss- Did you have something else to add, Dear?
Tsaaq: She pursed her lips and let then remain tightly shut. She shook her head quickly. "Nope." Bliss squeaked before picking up her handouts. "I just printed out some things about team member accountability." She said, waving the papers around a little.
Alexithymiaa: "Okay, thank you." He nodded to Eli, sinking back into the couch once his question was answered.-
Covet: Did you want to talk about them at all or just pass them out? -He asked her politely- I've got one more order of business But it takes a slightly different direction. -He said with an excited chuckle of his own.-
Tsaaq: She shook her head again. "No, I can just pass them out and if anybody has a question or two they can ask me later." She said, standing up and giving out the papers to each employee slowly. "Go ahead." She said with a raise of her eyebrow.
Alexithymiaa: -Adam held his hand out for the paper Bliss was passing to him, his eyes immediately dropping over it to review.-
Covet: Alright. I wanted to get these out to you guys before the holidays, because I feel it's a little more benefitial before rather than after. -He said as he started to pass out the envelopes with everyone's names on them- Inside is three hundred bucks for everyone, as your Holiday bonus, and as a Thank you from Me and Monica for helping make this place such a success so far this year. -He stopped at Hayley's and handed it out to Adam- Can you make sure that she gets hers too?
Tsaaq: She went to sit down after placing the leftover handouts on the table. She took her envelope from Eli and glanced over at Adam then looked down at her envelope once more. "How thoughtful of you." She said with a small smile.
Alexithymiaa: -Adam's eyes went a little wide, reaching his hand out to take his own envelope as well as Hayley's. "Wow... Eli. Thank you. This is... I really appreciate this. And I'll make sure that Hayley gets hers."-
Covet: No problem. The idea was mine, but the money was all Monica. -He said to them- Thank you all for coming tonight. Now get out of here, enjoy your night, and I'll see some of you tomorrow. -He told them, taking his clipboard and setting it on the counter.-
Tsaaq: She looked up and pursed her lips again, watching Eli and Adam's exchange. She followed behind Eli quickly, fiddling with her envelope. "I don't know what to do with this..." She trailed off.
Alexithymiaa: -He folded both envelopes together, sliding them down into the pocket of his pants and standing up to his feet as he glanced around at the other employees milling around and heading out.-
Covet: You can do whatever you would like with it. Spend it, save it, donate it. The only thing you can't do is give it back. -He said with a smile to her-
Tsaaq: "Do you think Adam wants it?" She asked, leaning against the counter. "I can't think of anything else I would want it for, I already have most of my gifts for the holidays planned out."
Covet: I mean, that'd be pretty thoughtful of you. I'm sure he'd appreciate it. -He said, his smile getting a little bigger.-
Alexithymiaa: -He took a deep breath and walked over to Eli and Bliss, glancing back at everyone else before looking to them. "I don't mean to interrupt ya'll, but I'm going to head out. I have a quiz in the morning that I need to be up early for."-
Covet: [Oh snap sorry Steph]
Tsaaq: She bit her lip a moment and turned to glance at Adam. "Hey, hold on a second." Bliss told him quickly. "I think you should take my bonus..." She began to say to him but tried to keep her voice hushed. "I don't really have anything to use it for and, well... I just want you to have it." She shrugged. "Maybe you and Hayley could split it or you keep it. It's really up to you."
Covet: You're good to go Adam. Thanks for coming in. -He said then gave Adam and Bliss some space to talk while he put away his things so all he had to do was turn the lights off and lock the door-
Alexithymiaa: -He blinked into Bliss' face when she suggested he take her bonus, his eyes dropping to her envelope briefly before returning to her face. "What? I... I can't do that. That's yours. You should spend it on yourself. You worked for that."-
Tsaaq: She shrugged her shoulders. "I don't need it." She said calmly. "You'd actually do something useful with it I'd presume." Bliss tried to hand the envelope over. "Go ahead, it's fine. It can be your christmas present, though cash presents don't have very much personality as I would like."
Alexithymiaa: -He hesitated for a long moment before gently reaching for the envelope, staring down at it. "This is really nice of you, Bliss. You don't have to be so generous. But I really do appreciate this. I'll split it with Hayley."-
Covet: -Eli looked up at them and made a lap around the shop making sure everything was turned off and locked down for the night, before walking over to the both of them- Ready to close up. You two all good?
Tsaaq: Bliss nodded at him with a smile. "Happy holidays, think nothing of it. Have a good night." She told Adam before turning to Eli. "Yes." She replied, exhaling gently and going to gather her things so they could leaving.
Alexithymiaa: -He smiled to her and dipped his head, pushing the envelope into his pocket with the others. "Have a goodnight. Thank you, Bliss." He turned away from them making his way out of the shop to head to his truck.-
Covet: Hey... -He stopped and grabbed Bliss's hand pulling her back- That was really caring of you. Thank you. -He said looking at her, being genuine as he pressed a kiss to her head- You staying tonight, or heading back to the dorms?
Tsaaq: She spun and looked at him before lowering her head coyly as she shrugged. "Well, I knew I didn't really need it." She murmured. "That's pretty far to drive on a dark night like this..." She whispered. "I'll probably just go upstairs." She told him as she  turned to face him. "Need anymore help or I can go shower?"
Covet: It was very kind and sweet of you. Go get showerd, I'll be right behind you. Just going to lock the door and hit the lights. -Eli told her with a proud smile-
Tsaaq: Bliss nodded as she walked with haste out of the store and went to go up to apartment for bed time things.
