  1. Alrighty, here is my post AGDQ 2019 feelsbin. Everybody seems to be saying the same, and maybe it's because it is still fresh in our minds, but this feels like my favorite GDQ of the 9 or however many I've been to. A major part is because of the people, and I'm gonna shout out as many as I can remember to. Another factor is what I did over the week; I did a bunch of new things with new people, and I felt like I did pretty well with everything I did. My audio shifts went really well I felt, and the tournaments I hosted were major successes. AGDQ was exactly what I needed get myself out of the funk I was in - My ex-girlfriend left me in October (in the most over-the-top way possible might I add), and it left me feeling five kinds of fucked up. If anybody was wondering why I've been such a sadboi on twitter, that's why. I had completely lost all of my confidence, but going to AGDQ really helped me out. I needed to like, be "THE Caveman" again if that makes sense. So thank you to everyone who interacted with me, be it in a minor or major way - You all got me back on my feet and made my week unforgettable.
  2.
  3. Now for the bit everyone actually cares about:
  4. SHOUT OUTS! (in no particular order)
  5.
  6. My Room: Overall a solid GDQ room. It was clean enough, sleepable enough, and we all knew each other well enough to rip on each other. I'd stay with y'all again easy.
  7.
  8. brad "big daddy" nthings - One of the nicest and funniest guys around. I always enjoy hanging out with you man, even if you snore like a thunder cloud. Thanks for introducing me to blobs.
  9.
  10. Herc - You are the man, my man. Thanks for taking charge and taking care of the room and payments.
  11.
  12. Keizaron - One cool dude who I always have a laugh with. Congrats on staying positive during my panel. Sorry you had to see my final form, I'd say we are square on you having to owe me a milkshake now.
  13.
  14. Rook crew: I didn't really hang out with you guys as much as I usually do. My b. But the time we spent was well spent, looking forward to seeing you guys at SGDQ.
  15.
  16. Albino/Archariat - Loved the Morrowind run dude. Informative, well executed, and showed off a bunch of stuff I didn't even know about. Still havn't picked my jaw up off the floor from the Zainab skip. Hope your name change and travel plans work out for you. And don't worry, we will get Hentus' pants next time.
  17.
  18. Alta - Anyone who shares my love of wacky controllers and the Neo Geo is worth a shout out on those merits alone. I really enjoyed watching you practice for your run, and even though you took multiple balls to the face during it, I thought you kept your composure like a champ. Looking forward to seeing you at PAX my friend.
  19.
  20. Flag - You are the one guy who is down for everything it seems. If there is a game to play or a tournament to enter, you are always ready to go. Thanks for entering mine, and let's actually hang out next time.
  21.
  22. Grygor - is Grygor. Easy guy to talk to, and someone I always enjoy seeing.
  23.
  24. Lambo - Back from the dead! Who knew the first time I met you at SGDQ2014 would be the last time? I had a blast catching up to you and getting you to play games of a questionable nature. I hope we can do the same again sometime soon. If not, best wishes.
  25.
  26. DrDoobie - Another zombie from GDQ past, it was good to see you again, even if it was only for the last couple days.
  27.
  28. ZachSK - I always rip on you, but I do genuinely like hanging out with you. I had a blast doing the panel, and credit you with the entire thing whenever people approached me about how fun it was. One day we will play a board game.
  29.
  30. Studio - You've always been my best friend at these events, real talk. One of the few people I feel comfortable talking about real life shit with, and more than that, you are one of the VERY few people who even cares to ask. I'm totally down for PAX and hell, down for any other avenue to chill with you.
  31.
  32. Other Rook people - y'all didn't even sign up for Evil Zone, eat my ass. Love you guys, see you at SGDQ.
  33.
  34. PlayStation Nation:
  35.
  36. Cane - My partner in crime. Thanks for putting in massive work for the tournaments and recording all that stuff. You are a big part of why the Mystery tournament is a success, and I look forward to doing it again.
  37.
  38. Dr4gonBlitz - My man! Any time any place, there is nobody I'd rather play hot games with than you. Great guy, coolest dude in the room, and beast of a gamer all around. You handed my ass to me in Evil Zone, so I gotta get my win back in the summer!
  39.
  40. Punchy - I call you a lot of things: The British Caveman, Rap God, God Gamer, but I don't call you what you really are enough, which is my friend. For the second year in a row, I had a blast bantering with you every time we met up. Here's to the next time dude, even if you are the saltiest motherfucker on the planet.
  41.
  42. Mike Uyama - I probably shouldn't let the cat out of the bag that such a significant force in speedrunning is in the Nation, but you don't check twitter so why not. Always a positive and fun dude to hang out with. Thanks for taking me to lunch on day 0, and thanks for entering my tournaments (and finally getting Matty to play Evil Zone). You are an easily approachable dude, and it goes without saying that none of this would be possible without you.
  43.
  44. Saintmillion - You were one of the first people I met at a GDQ. I didn't know who you were, but you were wearing your SRL shirt with your name on the back, so I pretended too lmao. Almost 5 years ago we met on the shuttle to the hotel and connected over bad PS1 Star Wars games. Fast forward to today and you got to play Phantom Menace on the big stage and holy shit it was the most fun I've ever had during a speedrun, including my own. Had an absolute blast with you, and I hope we can hang out for longer next time man.
  45.
  46. Alucard - You are a quiet guy, but who could blame you for constantly getting roped into whatever unspeakable shit PS1 game Joe or I bust out. You did great at the Mystery tournament and I was really thrilled to see that! Til next time dude.
  47.
  48. Spudlyman - It is always great to you dude. We have to hang out for real sometime! Until then, we at least have the greatest hug pic to come out of the marathon.
  49.
  50. Joester - You are one chill dude (not as chill as the next guy I'll mention, but chill nonetheless). Thanks for entering my tournaments and having a great time. I'm definitely going to hit you up to hang out irl before I move out of western NY.
  51.
  52. Saboom - THE absolute chillest guy in the universe. So chill that this man will fall asleep next to you mid-conversation. You've always been nice to me, and in kind I'm always thrilled to see you. But then again you don't check twitter either so really I can say whatever I want about you. So here is the honest truth everyone. SSBMStuff is a goofy name.
  53.
  54. Other Sprash people who I don't really know as well - Thank you all for entering my tournaments! Whatever our interactions were, being just saying hi or watching you bust out Harry Potter, it made my day that much better. I should probably hang out with you guys more, huh? Weird for the self-proclaimed leader of the PlayStation Nation to have no interaction with the single largest group of PS1 runners.
  55.
  56. Other people who do not fit into the above cliques.
  57.
  58. Dime - firstly, you are an absolute animal at doom, but that really isn't all relevant to our friendship. Since I've known you, you have always been eager to play whatever bad game or watch whatever bad movie I throw at you, and that means a lot to me. You have never been anything but a great guy to me, and I swear to all the gods, the first thing I'm doing at SGDQ is playing Warcraft II PS1 with you.
  59.
  60. Peaches - I'll never forget playing Spider with you at SGDQ2014. We've always been cool, and I hope we'll always be, dude. When I was playing ITG this marathon, mid song I distinctly remember thinking to myself "I wonder where Peaches is?" Lo and behold, as if I had summoned you, as soon as the results screen faded to black I saw your big ass grin in the reflection and lost it lmao. Loved watching your run, and hope I can catch some more soon. Also, I'm pretty sure we still never did get that burger from AGDQ2015. One day.
  61.
  62. Your Name Here - Genuinely funny and down to earth guy. You were accurately able to diagnose the problem I was having as "being to qualified and well liked," which due to my vanity, was a conclusion I may have never drawn myself. Hopefully that thing we were talking about pans out and everyone's life gets easier next marathon haha.
  63.
  64. Seckswrecks - One real dude who loves his meme games. Had a great time shooting the shit with you all week. I finally played Pringles, so you have succeeded in viraling that game straight into my heart. I'd sleep on a cardboard box at your house again if I had to.
  65.
  66. Faust - Probably were not expecting a shoutout, but it was a legit joy time meeting and talking with you. You are good people my guy. Thanks for entering my tournaments and going on a bye rampage. Hope we can do it again at future events.
  67.
  68. Bobby Cruz - For finally playing Evil Zone after what feels like 2 years! You are a genuinely good guy imo. Also, I have to thank you for something you don't even know you did. Cryptic, I know, but it makes sense.
  69.
  70. GDQ Audio Staff whose names I will not mention - You guys gave me fantastic shifts to work, which made me feel like yeah, I actually know what I'm doing. I'm a good audio engineer. I appreciate the vote of confidence. Not to mention the fantastic job you all did streamlining the whole process. Unsung heroes imo.
  71.
  72. The NMO crew AKA DarkAries, DarkFox, Lurk, ThoseCrazyGuys - You guys were all great and made me feel genuinely like a part of your crew. Thanks for entering my tournaments, taking me out to eat, buying under the table D&B cards, and having a fantastic interview with me. I can't wait to see how that turns out, and how everything else you guys got cooking goes. Thanks for the fun times, we'll see about having some more.
  73.
  74. Guitar Hero people - For being class fucking acts. You guys managed to get your tournament going while three other tournaments were going on simultaneously.
  75.
  76. The Click clique - for crying at the end of the movie Click, staring Adam Sandler.
  77.
  78. Zelda people - for being wild, crazy people and a never ending source of hilarious drama. Had a lot of fun infiltrating your scene, maybe at SGDQ I'll do the same. Not to be confused with randomizer people, who are shitters.
  79.
  80. Nancy - As much as I've said about everything else, I could say even more about you. More than anybody else, you made this GDQ special. You are incredible, and I can't wait to see you again.
  81.
  82.
  83.
  84. And there it is! If I didn't mention you, it's either a big oops on my part or I don't care about you at all, take your pick. Thank you everyone, old friends and new, who made this GDQ more than it has ever been for me. Whether you guys know it or not, you brought me back from a dark time in my life. Caveman is back baby, let's play some shit games in 2019.
