- In the rural city of Temratan, prosperity is one thing this city cannot keep... fear and danger linger the city from which days past... and today isn't different like any other. A marketplace within the city was having its last rounds of sales, people going back and forth between booths and shops of different kinds. But among the busy folk, lies an unjust. Moments later, a band of thieves cause a ruckus, and began to rouse the crowd and destroy market stands. Stealing whatever they could grab, and make a run for it with weapons in hand. They tried to make their escape as best as possible. Guardsman of the city chased after when they were alerted. The chase went on until the thieves were able to escape them.
- ...Or so they hoped.
- Thief 1: "Did we lose those idiots finally?"
- Thief 2: *Looks from the corner from the alleyway* "....Yep. They've made like rats and kept hightailing forward. We got 'em for sure."
- Thief 3: "That could have gone better, though. We caused too much of a scene."
- Thief 4: "Bah, who cares. Long as we got the goods, those weaklings can whine all they want. This city won't ever help them while we know all of these good tricks."
- Thief 2:"...I still feel like we're being followed."
- Thief 1: "Nonsense! You DID say those guards kept moving forward and passed us. We totally lost them!"
- Thief 2: "I know that! But... I think, it's not a guardsman. It's... something else."
- The crew of thieves looked at the second thief in confusion for a bit. Wondering what he meant from what his intuition was feeling.
- Thief 4: *All of a sudden, he heard a soft noise..* "..? Hey, you guys heard that?"
- Thief 3: "Heard what? I didn't hear anything than your own chatter."
- Thief 1: "Then shut your own traps and actually listen!"
- The four kept quiet, scanning the alleyway and listening closely...
- Thief 1: *He then noticed something at the other end. A silhouette of sorts, but it was dark among the sight.* ..!? Hey over there! *he points at the silhouette*
- Everyone else looks and notices the figure. The figure takes a few steps forward, his outfit and body having more of an appearance to them.
- Thief 2: "Who are you!? How did you find us?!"
- Thief 4: "He gives me the creeps!"
- Thief 3: "We can't back down now, we just got this stuff."
- Thief 1: "Come on, let's get him!"
- Suddenly the second and third thieves drew their weapons and charged after the figure. The figure had a grin, and too he swiftly went after the two attacking thieves. The thieves tried to make contact strikes with the figure, but the figure opposed with great speed, dodging the swipes from the blade they carry. Then one after the other, knocked them out with swift strikes with his legs and arms. Two easily taken down, and the figure still approaches the last two.
- Thief 4: "E-Ergh.. I'll make you pay!"
- The fourth tried to hit him, using a long scimitar against the figure. The figure retaliated with drawing his weapon. It looked to be a giant broad-bladed claymore, appearing from the figure's back with a shine. With the claymore, he knocked away the scimitar into the air, and the fourth thief into the wall. Using the broad side of the claymore. The scimitar lands behind the figure from some distance, leaving the last thief in fear. He started to shake, as the figure drew his blade up to the last thief in the alleyway.
- Thief 1: "I-I ain't scared of you! Y--You can point that thing at me all you want, but I-I ain't budging one bit!"
- The figure only stared at the thief. The thief kept being shrouded in fear... all until he couldn't take it anymore. A scream was heard seconds later, and was heard by the guardsman that retraced their steps nearby. Once they found the alleyway the thieves were hiding in, they found all four on the ground. Unconscious and beaten, they didn't move even once. And the bag of stolen items and goods were right by one of the thieves. The figure was nowhere to be seen, and the guardsmen were left confused.
- In another portion of the rural city... another alleyway was seen. This time, it had some sort of light well in it. The light well emitted a type of blue. Not too bright, not too dark. Across from the well, on a roof, was a man. Looking down at the well to gaze in its radiance, it appeared to be the same man that attacked the thieves from before. He had the hair as a mullet. Short and blazing with silver and white. Harboring the hairstyle was a large green headband, with what appears to be half of a white all sided star in the middle of the headband for the design. Having blue eyes, a young appearance, and an outfit with black, green and some of blue. Along with half gloves, and a device on his left arm... suddenly he gets a communication signal, hailing him for a call...
- ???: *answers the comms call*
- Comms. Hunter: "Commander? Come in. This is Hunter HQ. Do you read me?"
- ???: "Commander here. What's up?"
- Comms. Hunter: "Sir, we're awaiting the next report from your Base of Ops. on Yarzo. We suspect you found more of the crooks responsible for the crimes in Temratan."
- ???: "Moreso of the lines. We'll have the report in before full sundown on this planet. Just remember, it's far from done on this place."
- Comms. Hunter: "We are aware. And we are keeping track of any spacial activity around the planet of Yarzo. Nothing has been spotted yet."
- ???: "Keep your scanners up. May never know what will appear up there above the skies."
- Comms. Hunter: "Will do, sir. Uhh... you don't mind what I call you, right?"
- ???: "You can say whichever. It won't faze me."
- Comms. Hunter: "Err.. right. Do not stay out for too long. The streets of Temratan are dangerous for a Hunter to go alone."
- ???: "I make sure Hunters are in small patrol groups. No one isn't ever alone unless necessary. We've only had that once so far, and that's due to my partner."
- Comms. Hunter: "Very good then. We shall expect you on your return, Brendan Striker."
- Brendan: "...Heh... same to you. Striker out." *ends the comm. link* "....This well is nice... but that sunset tells me otherwise... I gotta head back to the base."
- Brendan, now revealed as the figure from the previous assault on the thieves, has to end his vast thoughts through the light well, and travel back to the base where he and his Hunter crew is stationed. Upward to the North, hidden away, lies the base...
