I am a computer and systems engineering undergraduate at Alexandria University expecting to graduate in 2019. I am writing to express my interest in the Software Engineer Intern position at Company Name. I learnt about this opportunity through LinkedIn Jobs. After reviewing the job description, I believe that I have the necessary skills and abilities to fill the role. I have worked on a variety of projects including course projects, an internship project as well as side projects and have been recognized on several occasions for details-orientation and writing high quality clean code.
I believe a good software engineer should combine analytical science with modern technology and problem solving skills.
As for the analytical science, My current cumulative GPA is 3.8 at university and I got distinction grade for programming, data structures subjects as well as discrete mathematics, probability and numerical analysis.
As for modern technology, I am currently a Software Engineer Intern at Xlab Group. I worked for about three months on refactoring an android application for one of the company’s products to match Google’s best practices in android development. I also added new features to the app using native tools as well as third party plugins and extensions. Moreover, I reviewed modules developed by other developers to maintain code clean, well structured and easily extendable. My work helped the company to achieve great client satisfaction for the high quality of the reviewed modules and delivering them before the required time.
As a problem solver, I attended and passed the Algorithms Senior Training Program 2016 instructed by the ICPC 2015 team where I studied various algorithms and problem solving techniques and solved many problems, coding challenges and participated in many contests on various online judges.
As an ambitious software developer, I worked on many side projects as well. I love developing mobile applications and currently working on a social media app that will encourage users to express their opinions that they are not brave enough to express on other social media applications.
