Support for Sophie

Hello, my name is Ashen Hallens. I recently lost a friend I was very close to by the name of Sophie Skye.



Sophie was a student at the University of North Texas who loved playing Super Smash Bros. and watching anime with friends. She was a wonderful person whom brought joy to all those she met.



On January 23rd, Sophie took her own life. Following her death, Sophie's supportive parents held a obituary in her dead name, misgendering her on her death bed. As a close friend of her's, I want to do all that I can to remember her for the person she was, and as the identity she preferred.



This GoFundMe page's goal is to raise funds for Suicide awareness and prevention. All donations given to this project will go directly to the Trevor Project, a non-profit organization that provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention for LGBTQ youth. Supporting organizations like the Trevor project will enable them to help those with suicidal thoughts and prevent the loss of loved ones to suicide.
