Even Stephen Kings says that Wheel of Time is a waste of tim

But anyways, in the first few minutes of this video King explains how he decided not to read A Song Of Ice and Fire because he tried reading Wheel of Time but he couldn't get into any of them, and so he probably wouldn't like , and then he had some condition where it hurt o lie down, so couldn't sleep, so decided to try to read Game of Thrones, and it helped him deal with the pain. He really loved the books.

I'v e said it before, and I'll say it again. Fuck The Wheel of Time, they're horrible books which completely waste your time. I may not be a fan of Game of Thrones, but I can see why people love it. It deserves every shred of respect its been given. Wheel of Time on the other hand...man, it's a big part of why I stopped reading in high school.

I knew so many fantasy fans in high school who kept recommending it to me, so I felt compelled to try to go through it, only to keep falling asleep to it, but because of peer pressure I was too stupid to drop it, and it made me feel like I wasn't capable of getting into novels aimed at adults. I didn't read any text novel for like 5 years because of this stupid discouraging pile of garbage.

Screw this book. If you genuinely like it. If you genuinely like book, be it even Twilight, that's fine, if you're reading what genuinately makes you happy, then I say bliss. But for the love of god, please stop recommending it to people trying to get into fantasy novels! Show them stuff like Jim Butcher's The Dresden Files! Show them Brent Weeks Night Angel and Lightbringer, they're fucking god and win! Show them Brian Mclellans Gods and Blood and Powder, nobody writes more immersive combat than him!

Hell, I don't like it, but show them them Mark Lawrence's Book of the Ancestor, it's still a very competent book with compelling characters. Show them Heroes Die! Show them The Nevernight Chronice! But please, I'm begging you, stop recommending The Wheel of Time! You're keeping people out of the fantasy genre!
