  1. [19:20] <Astrea_Bastet> Astrea twirls around it, examine it...it could use some pink to go along with her blood color but it looks really nice...although where did yo- oh god did somebody kidnap you? Astrea looks around as a sense of fear hangs over her...how did they get past Ldad without her knowing??
  2. [19:21] <ireg> It seems... Perhaps like that. Why would they put you in a purple version of your room? Why did they get everything so... Perfect?
  3. [19:21] <ireg> Besides the fact you are missing any doors our, besides four windows
  4. [19:21] <ireg> You hear... Like the sound of people moving on a street.
  5. [19:29] <ireg> Might be.... Although....
  6. [19:29] <ireg> Why would they put you in a purple version of your room?
  7. [19:29] <ireg> And why did they get everything so...
  8. [19:29] <ireg> Perfect?
  9. [19:29] <ireg> What's the point?
  10. [19:30] <ireg> The only major difference is the purple, and...
  11. [19:30] <ireg> There are no doors out.
  12. [19:30] <ireg> Only four windows.
  13. [19:30] <ireg> You hear what sounds like people bustling around below.
  14. [19:30] <ireg> You have't actually looked out them yet
  15. [19:30] <ireg> Are you like rapunzel?
  16. [19:30] <Astrea_Bastet> Astrea walks over to one of the windows and looks outside
  17. [19:32] <ireg> You see a sprawling, gothic purple city- Full of cathedrals and churches. You seem to be on a smaller moon, connected to a larger one by a huge chain. There seems to be a ring of meteors just outside of the city, and you can see four other towers like yours near you. There seem to be black-shelled creatures milling about in the streets below
  18. [19:32] <ireg> Far, far in the distance- You can see a pinprick of blue light
  19. [19:33] <Astrea_Bastet> "HELLO! Can anyone hear me?! I seem to be trapped up int his tower!" She leans a bit outside to see if there is some kind of staircase or some way down
  20. [19:34] <ireg> Doesn't... Seem like it.
  21. [19:34] <ireg> A few of the Black creatures glance up at you.
  22. [19:34] <ireg> While leaning over, you stumble, falling out of the window.
  23. [19:34] <ireg> You fall about halfway, almost to your death, before...
  24. [19:34] <ireg> The air catches you?
  25. [19:34] <ireg> You're... Flying. Or floating.
  26. [19:35] <ireg> A crowd of the creatures have gathered to watch you.
  27. [19:35] <Astrea_Bastet> Astrea's eyes widen as she readies her...eyebeams...? She blinks "This is...odd, I don't recall having telekinesis..."
  28. [19:35] <Astrea_Bastet> She flails a bit around to try and control this newfound ability
  29. [19:36] <ireg> Roll acrobatics
  30. [19:36] <Astrea_Bastet> !roll 1d20+1
  31. [19:36] <Tyche[Dice]> (1d20+1) [10+1] : {11}
  32. [19:36] <ireg> You flail about for a bit and do circles in the air, before you seem to develop a sort of control. Its still somewhat janky.
  33. [19:37] <Astrea_Bastet> Okay, wonderful. She floats down to the ground to the best of her...rather janky ability "Excuse me where am I and why was I in a tower?"
  34. [19:38] <ireg> One steps forward
  35. [19:38] <ireg> "Derse... M'lady. You are one of the 5 princes. Errr... Princess, in this case."
  36. [19:39] <Astrea_Bastet> She glances back at the towers, exactly 5...hers was right there. "Well, I already knew I was royalty. But why am I here? Last I checked I was home undersea."
  37. [19:40] <ireg> "You have always been here."
  38. [19:41] <Astrea_Bastet> "That cannot be correct, I've lived on Alternia my entire life."
  39. [19:43] <ireg> "You have."
  40. [19:43] <ireg> "You are a dreamer."
  41. [19:43] <Astrea_Bastet> "And what does that mean?"
  42. [19:43] <ireg> "This is where you have been where you sleep"
  43. [19:43] <ireg> "Only now have you awoken"
  44. [19:44] <Astrea_Bastet> "And what exactly does that mean?"
  45. [19:48] <ireg> "While you wake, you are in the waking world."
  46. [19:48] <ireg> "Now, you are in the dreaming world"
  47. [19:48] <ireg> "You have never left. Your waking body is sleeping,"
  48. [19:49] <Astrea_Bastet> Astrea blinks as she closes her eyes, thinking it over "Fine. Suppose it's the only sensible thing, but why do I suddenly have telekinesis? That was not one of my psionics"
  49. [19:53] <Heri> "Psionics?" He says questioningly
  50. [19:53] <Heri> "All dreamers can fly."
  51. [19:54] <Astrea_Bastet> "Psychic powers, telekinesis, pyrokinesis, Eyebeams, Empatheic...but we can just fly?"
  52. [19:54] <Heri> "Yes."
  53. [19:55] <Heri> "I do not know of the others."
  54. [19:57] <Astrea_Bastet> "I see, thank you. I will go see the others, perhaps my sign-spirit is amongst them"
  55. [19:57] <Heri> "Farewell, princess. May you have safe travels."
  56. [19:58] <Astrea_Bastet> "You too." Astrea flies off to the nearest tower
  57. [20:00] <Heri> It appears to be.... An odd respiteblock. No recuperacoon, and it appears rather.... Lavish. A strange pink-skinned creature sleeps in an odd resting place, a slab with cloth. Shes wearing a dress similar to yours.
  58. [20:00] <Astrea_Bastet> Astrea raises an eyebrow, climbing it before gently shaking the odd creature "Hello? You awake?"
  59. [20:01] <Heri> She rustles as you shake her.
  60. [20:02] <Astrea_Bastet> She shakes a bit more
  61. [20:02] <Heri> Cornelia, you awake to a strange, although pretty girl with gray skin and horns shaking you. She's wearing a purple dress.
  62. [20:03] <Cornelia_> "Now this is a new one. Though I would like to inquire what is afoot here." I say, stirring and sitting up. This is most odd indeed
  63. [20:03] <Astrea_Bastet> "Frankly I bearly know myself other than we are princess and dreamers in a strange land called Derse...but what are you?"
  64. [20:05] <Cornelia_> "I might ask you the same. My name is Cornelia Graccus, it's a pleasure to meet you." I say, sweeping my legs round and standing up straight before offering out a hand to shake.
  65. [20:05] <Astrea_Bastet> "Astrea Bastet." she shakes your hand "I'm a troll, a fuchsia blood"
  66. [20:08] <Cornelia_> "Different skin, horns, some beautiful eyes. I think it's safe to say I've never come across anyone of your race. Human, Italian Government." I say with a warm smile. She seems friendly enough to have a nice chat with.
  67. [20:08] <Astrea_Bastet> Astrea nods, giving a smile back "I can't say I've ever met a human, what is your blood color?"
  68. [20:10] <Cornelia_> "Red though it tends to a deep brown upon drying. Help me understand the significance, if you don't mind?"
  69. [20:10] <Astrea_Bastet> "Well, biologically speaking trolls have different blood colors ranging from red to fuchsia. This determines a number of factors biologically and socially."
  70. [20:11] <Astrea_Bastet> "Red is the Lowest Caste, where Fuchsia is the Highest. The lower your cast the less physically capable you are however you are notably more capable mentally and have less violent tendancies."
  71. [20:11] <Astrea_Bastet> "Lower castes as such have high potential for psionics"
  72. [20:12] <Astrea_Bastet> "Higher castes are more capable physically, and have more violent tendancies. however they also have a high resistance to psionics"
  73. [20:13] <Astrea_Bastet> "Lastly it also determines your caste. You could consider Lowbloods, the lowest tiers as commonors and high bloods as nobility or in my case royalty."
  74. [20:13] <Cornelia_> "Facinating. Humans have singular, which is a scarlet red. We don't work based on castes of blood but in its place we value based upon wealth. Though, just to be sure, when you say psionics, you're talking about mental powers?"
  75. [20:13] <Astrea_Bastet> "Psychic powers, yes."
  76. [20:14] <Cornelia_> "Well, that's a bold claim and not one I've heard since I last found a group of Roma. You wouldn't happen to have any yourself, would you?"
  77. [20:14] <Astrea_Bastet> "I do albeit mine are rather, flashy."
  78. [20:15] <Cornelia_> "What do you mean? Please, explain as if you were talking to an alien, because you just might well be from how this is going."
  79. [20:16] <Astrea_Bastet> "I have eyebeams, I shoot lasers from my eyes."
  80. [20:16] <Astrea_Bastet> "Also Empatheic psionics, so I can link two minds"
  81. [21:53] <Cornelia_> "Bold claim on both accounts. I hope you don't mind my scepticism" I say as I walk to a chair and sit down, indicating to the one next to it
  82. [21:54] <Astrea_Bastet> Astrea walks over and sits down "Well frankly I don't want to end up destroying one of your things, however I can do an empathic link."
  83. [21:56] <Cornelia_> "Before I grant you such permission, I would like to know what this is to do. I'm sure we both habour secrets of a more personal nature, and for those to be spilt on our first meeting would simply ruin the fun of discovery."
  84. [21:57] <Astrea_Bastet> "With my current level...it would allow simple telepathy and looking through each other's eyes."
  85. [21:58] <Cornelia_> "Then by all means, demonstrate away."
  86. [21:59] <Astrea_Bastet> Astrea nods as she begins to form an empathetic link with Cornelia
  87. [21:59] <Astrea_Bastet> !roll 2#1d20+3
  88. [21:59] <Tyche[Dice]> (1d20+3) [13+3] : {16} (1d20+3) [15+3] : {18}
  89. [22:00] <Astrea_Bastet> As Astrea focuses...cornelia can feel something in her mind before suddenly Astrea smiles and she hears her voice in her head "See?"
  90. [22:02] <Cornelia_> "Well I'll be damned, that's amazing" Cornelia 'thinks' back, hoping she understands it. A smile errupts on her face.
  91. [22:03] <Astrea_Bastet> Astrea nods "Yes it is. You can look through my eyes too instead of your own."
  92. [22:03] <Cornelia_> "But... How?"
  93. [22:04] <Astrea_Bastet> "Just sort of...focus on my senses imagine looking through my eyes instead of yours"
  94. [22:07] <Cornelia_> I try simply willing myself to look through her eyes. After a moment, and a small amount of questioning of reality, my view slightly shifts to further along in my room, where I see myself looking great like normal. "Colour me impressed"
  95. [22:08] <Astrea_Bastet> Astrea smiles "And that is empathetic, or at least the small amount I have learned. Links like this aren't permanent and eventually wear off."
  96. [22:09] <Cornelia_> "How long do they normally last then? Is there a range to it?"
  97. [22:10] <Astrea_Bastet> "I can hold it for one hour"
  98. [22:10] <Astrea_Bastet> "And no range"
  99. [22:13] <Cornelia_> "That's pretty reasonable, probably has quite a lot of use. But enough about your psionics, tell me about you. How does someone of your beauty and stature end up in a purple version of my room?"
  100. [22:15] <Astrea_Bastet> "Oh thank you for the compliment, you are nice looking yourself. But I was looking into the other towers to see if my sign-spirit was here and yours was the first I peered into"
  101. [22:16] <Cornelia_> "Sign-spirit? I don't know what you're referring to, but I am happy to assist if you want it."
  102. [22:17] <Astrea_Bastet> "Yes my sign-spirit, we were hatched in the same clutch and have the same sign which...generally only oneself and their ancestor share the same sign, a mark if you will that shows your bloodline."
  103. [22:20] <Cornelia_> "So another Troll with the same ancestoral crest? I can understand why you would seek them out. Would that make them an estranged sibling then?"
  104. [22:21] <Astrea_Bastet> "Sibling?" Astrea tilts her head a bit confused
  105. [22:26] <Cornelia_> "Sorry, I assumed you had a similar family system to myself. I assumed you had a family system to begin with. How we humans do it is a matured couple proform what's colloquially known as a 'dance'. This is followed by a nine month period in which a child develops within the parental female. Post birth, the cild is looked after by the two concieving parents. Any other offspring from the couple is refered to as a 'sibling'. I explain this because you made reference to a 'hatch' which would suggest an egg."
  106. [22:29] <Astrea_Bastet> Astrea nods as she takes in the information "No our system isn't quite like that. In our society an ancestor and their descendent are normally separated by many sweeps, maybe even a thousand. My own ancestor is still alive since fuchsias live a very long time, but generally in our society we give the necessary components to produce grubs to a drone
  107. [22:29] <Astrea_Bastet> which gathers them to be presented to a mother grub that will mix the various components and inevitably birth grublings whom will grow up to be trolls if they survive long enough"
  108. [22:33] <Cornelia_> "Now that's an answer I didn't see coming. Reminds me a lot of the old Spartan way of raising children. Tell me, what is to protect the grubling during infancy without any parental body?"
  109. [22:34] <Astrea_Bastet> "We call them lusus, you could classify them as large creatures of various shapes and sizes whom are attracted by a troll's scent and begin to nurse them along with the troll acting as their caretaker also. For example my own lusus is Leviathan Dad"
  110. [22:42] <Cornelia_> "I would love a visit to such an existance. I haven't felt such culture shock for too long.. But anyway, does that not imply that either the Leviathan is that of the land or you are that of the sea? I know the answer isn't hard to guess with the fins, but I would rather the confirmation then make an incorrect assumption."
  111. [22:43] <Astrea_Bastet> "Oh I suppose I did not mention it, as a fuchsia blood I am amphibious. I can breathe perfectly fine while underwater, so it is a Sea Leviathan and I live in the sea"
  112. [22:50] <Cornelia_> "You certainly are interesting, Astrea. It must be quite easy to dodge enquiries from the proletariat whilst you're well beyond their ability to breath. I respect that."
  113. [22:53] <Astrea_Bastet> "Thank you, and yes it is. I've taken full advantage of the perks of the seas. What about human society? I've talked quite a bit about my own but I would like to hear about yours"
  114. [23:01] <Cornelia_> [Hah, it's nowhere near as exotic. Our upper classes, equivilent to high higher bloods of your society, typically live in expansive housing estates. We don't have the protection of the ocean, but insted that of walls and high tech security. However, we tell our people we work for their benefit and they don't normally rise against us, so we don't explicately need the sea to thrive. Like you, many are born into wealth or poverty, but because of the similarities in most of us, we can also tell them they stand
  115. [23:02] <Cornelia_> a chance at wealth, to rise above their social and economic position. It is amoral, to be quite honest, but that hasn't stopped me much before."
  116. [23:09] <Cornelia_> "Hah, it's nowhere near as exotic. Our upper classes, equivilent to high higher bloods of your society, typically live in expansive housing estates. 117. [23:09] <Cornelia_> a chance at wealth, to rise above their social and economic position. It is amoral, to be quite honest, but that hasn't stopped me much before."
  118. [23:11] <Astrea_Bastet> Astrea nods taking it in "I see...in some ways it is quite similar. Are humans particularly bloodthirsty? What sort of technology do you have? Can you travel off world?"
  119. [23:13] <Cornelia_> "That depends on who and where. As a general rule of thuimb though, Humans will only consider violence as a last resort. I assume this is different for you. As for the other two, we are getting near to higher automation, but we're not there yet. There has been expeditions into the stars, but we are still confined to our solar system. What about your own civilization for all three of those questions?"
  120. [23:15] <Astrea_Bastet> "Trolls tend to be very bloodthirsty, it is not uncommon for a highblood to slaughter a lowblood...I detest that but I cannot do much right now. We ourselves can travel offworld and travel galaxies"
  121. [23:18] <Cornelia_> "I can understand why you'd want to end bloodshed. For all I talk of the exploitation of my position, I myself fight a more subversive battle in the name of the everyman. However, such populism isn't tolerated too kindly within my culture's elite, so I don't talk too often of it."
  122. [23:19] <Astrea_Bastet> Astrea nods "I understand, it truly is an uphill battle to fight against those currently in power to change things around you without making it worse"
  123. [23:22] <Cornelia_> "I simply wish I didn't have to hide my motives without fear for my life. But, alas, that is the way the proverbial cookie crumbles. Tell me, are your peoples a singluar state or a series of nations?"
  124. [23:23] <Astrea_Bastet> "Singular stated ruled by an Empress, specfically my ancestor known as Miss Massacre to most of her subjects...nobody speaks her real name lest they be culled for her amusement"
  125. [23:25] <Cornelia_> "Well Christ, my ancestors only lit the fuse that would blow apart the world's greatest empire. I feel almost outclassed in heritage."
  126. [23:26] <Astrea_Bastet> "Dont. She is a terrible person who has tortured, conquered and shed more blood than anyone in troll history...even without an army."
  127. [23:27] <Astrea_Bastet> "Her army being just for show...she could wipe the entire army out on her own if she desired..."
  128. [23:29] <Cornelia_> "Have to respect the power, even if I detest its application. I assume that would mean you also keep your peaceloving nature in the shadows as well?"
  129. [23:30] <Astrea_Bastet> "Yes I am hiding from her most of all. Until one day I can take the throne from her"
  130. [23:31] <Cornelia_> "How do you plan to do that? I thought she was able to wipe out an army as a solo act? Do you have a plan of action?"
  131. [23:31] == Astrea__Bastet [[email protected]] has joined #RPGStuck_Pudding
  132. [23:32] <Astrea__Bastet> "Studying her method of combat has been something I have been looking into...along with gaining followers. While she has great physical poweress it is limited to mostly melee, my eyebeams have a very long range that far surpasses hers"
  133. [23:35] <Cornelia_> "Surely with the power that comes with interplanetary travel, you have more powerful yet less conventionary weaponry? Even my nation has 'Nuclear Weapons', bombs able to remove a city from existance."
  134. [23:36] <Astrea__Bastet> "Of course we do but again...it is solely under her control. And sometimes it is the choice between a tyrant and a power vacuum"
  135. [23:41] <Cornelia_> "No chance of the liberation of such weaponry for that fight? That's unfortunate, it may have resolved the situation in a significantly safer manner for yourself. So, unless you have any objections, can we talk more about yourself. What do you do in your free time?"
  136. [23:42] <Astrea__Bastet> "Oh thank you, this was getting to a rather depressing topic. I love fashion and I like to style hair. I often times style my own hair or my sign-spirit's when I have the chance."
  137. [23:46] <Cornelia_> "You're clearly a professional, if you don't mind me saying. How'd you learn that craft then?"
  138. [23:48] <Astrea__Bastet> "I first looked through books and than I began to work on it through trial and error, eventually learning how to properly style it. I studied a lot of fashion, discovering what styles worked at what times and what colors went best. I've experimented a bit like dying my hair blue and trying blue dresses but I always learn back towards fuchsias as it
  139. [23:48] <Astrea__Bastet> fits the tri-color scheme of black, grey and fuchsia for two dark colors and a brighter color to really bring out my looks"
  140. [23:51] <Cornelia_> "How is the fashion scene on your planet? Is it a constantly moving series of new trends and lastest fashions?"
  141. [23:52] <Astrea__Bastet> Astrea gives a large sigh "Trolls aren't known for fashion, except for the few of us who actually understand the beauty. which is the one thing I respect Miss Massacre for, she has amazing fashion sense"
  142. [23:54] <Cornelia_> "Well that's a shame. Though I don't follow the latest trends myself, I do enjoy a bit of out-there fashion. It bemuses me. So, what's considered in right now?"
  143. [23:55] <Astrea__Bastet> "Right now? I must admit that scarfs are rather pretty right now along with fabrics hanging off of dresses. Also this season designs on clothing that aren't your sign are rather popular."
  144. [23:57] <Cornelia_> "YOu mentioned sign before. How does that work then?"
  145. [23:59] <Astrea__Bastet> "Your sign is given when you are a grub, if you find someone with your sign it means you are bonded by blood to them and it is said by some pretentious highbloods that you might admire their tales and follow them" she eyerolls at that notion "Frankly I hate the very thing I found that was left by my ancestor, a cursed but fashionable dress"
  146. [00:01] <Cornelia_> "Cursed? In what way?"
  147. [00:01] <Astrea__Bastet> "Power for loss of morals"
  148. [00:02] <Cornelia_> "A nasty trade. So, how close are you and your sibling?"
  149. [00:03] <Astrea__Bastet> She smiles "Very, I visit when I can"
  150. [00:05] <Cornelia_> "That's good to hear. While we're on the topic, shall we start searching? A Fuschia Troll shouldn't be too hard to find." I say, standing up.
  151. [00:06] <Astrea__Bastet> She nods "Yes but one thing..."
  152. [00:06] <Astrea__Bastet> Astrea points to your bed "What is that?"
  153. [00:07] <Cornelia_> A look of disbelief hits me right across the face. "Do you not sleep?"
  154. [00:07] <Astrea__Bastet> "Of course I sleep!"
  155. [00:09] <Cornelia_> "Well, this is pretty simple. It is a series of soft and warm pieces of cloth to sleep on or under. How do you sleep?"
  156. [00:10] <Astrea__Bastet> "In my recupercoon. It's an enclosed coon with soperslime inside, a sort of slime drug to help soothe a troll and keep off the terrible and violent nightmares that tend to plague our dreams although...I guess I don't need it anymore?"
  157. [00:12] <Cornelia_> "That sounds significantly more confusing then the bed. Though, granted, we don't need to be sedated for a good night's sleep."
  158. [00:14] <Astrea__Bastet> "It's a lot nicer than it sounds. I'll show you if we visit my tower"
  159. [00:17] <Cornelia_> "I can't wait to observe. Now, just a simple question, how did you even enter?"
  160. [00:17] <Astrea__Bastet> Astrea just points to the window, getting up and leading Cornelia over "I just came through here"
  161. [00:19] <Cornelia_> "We're on a tower above a city with stair nor ladder in sight. This one will be interesting."
  162. [00:20] <Astrea__Bastet> "Oh it is alright, we can fly as 'dreamers'" Astrea simply slips out of the window and floats outside
  163. [00:20] <Cornelia_> "Ahh, I see. And how would I go about flight?" I say, stepping up onto the window ledge
  164. [00:22] <Astrea__Bastet> "Well...admittedly I just fell and it sorta...happened at first now I just sort of do it."
  165. [00:25] <Cornelia_> "I hope this isn't how I go out." I tell her, before plunging off the edge.
  166. [00:26] <Astrea__Bastet> Astrea looks surprised at the ballsy move and waits for your flight to take hold
  167. [00:36] <Cornelia_> I keep falling, enough for the rush of adrenaline to kick in and a legitimate fear for my continued existance to arise. "Is this the end of me? That's a bit disapointing." I think to myself as my death looks inevitable. That is, until I simply stop midair without reason. With a bit of toying around with will, I note the ability to shift where I hang simply by thinking it. Is this what it is like to have Psionics? What would this even be called outside of 'flight'? Anyway:
  168. [00:36] <Cornelia_> "I seem to have got this under control." I say, raising myself to her height
  169. [00:37] <Astrea__Bastet> "Ah wonderful, now since we are outside...would you like to see my eyebeams?"
  170. [00:37] <Astrea__Bastet> Astrea points at the meteors "I can simply aim there, I shouldn't reach but it makes for a good target"
  171. [00:40] <Cornelia_> "By all means, please demonstrate"
  172. [00:40] <Astrea__Bastet> Astrea nows, she aims into the sky and fires off a fuchsia colored eyebeam harmlessly
  173. [00:40] <Astrea__Bastet> nods*
  174. [00:43] <Cornelia_> "Again, you suprise me. Temm me, does it not hurt?"
  175. [00:44] <Astrea__Bastet> "No not at all"
  176. [00:44] <Cornelia_> *Tell
  177. [00:45] <Cornelia_> "Could you do it again, and this time I shall observe through your eyes? I can't imagine what it actually looks like." I swap over to her vision.
  178. [00:46] <Astrea__Bastet> "Sure." Astrea fires her eyebeams, from her point of view she surprisingly can still see despite the beams allowing her to aim properly despite what might obviously blind her ever so briefly...it's more like her entire vision turns the color of the lasers
  179. [00:48] <Cornelia_> "That's honestly incredible. Thank you for that. So, shall we search for your sibling first or enter your tower for an example of this 'pod'?"
  180. [00:49] <Astrea__Bastet> "Let's go to my own tower first." Astrea flies over to her own tower and slips inside, walking over to the recupercoon "Here it is"
  181. [00:50] <Cornelia_> "It's very round. What does it feel like while in there?"
  182. [00:50] <Astrea__Bastet> "Warm and soothing"
  183. [00:52] <Cornelia_> "Is it the same for Trolls who cannot breathe underwater? Surely being submerged isn't comfortable for them."
  184. [00:53] <Astrea__Bastet> "Yes it is fine for them too"
  185. [00:54] <Cornelia_> I shake my head. "I can't seem to accept it, I'm sorry. This one is just slightly too much culture shock, even for me."
  186. [00:55] <Astrea__Bastet> Astrea shrugs "It is just how we sleep, although I suppose different castes may have different types...this is what we use to sleep."
  187. [00:57] <Cornelia_> "Would you mind me... dipping my hand in?" I say, uncertainly
  188. [00:58] <Astrea__Bastet> "I won't mind at all, just please do not eat it"
  189. [01:01] <Cornelia_> "I wasn't planning on it" I say, dipping an index and middle inger in for a second to test viscosity and temperature. ThenI give it a quick sniff before flaoting outside to wipe my hand on a wall. After turning, I say "Well, I still don't know how I feel about that substance."
  190. [01:02] <Astrea__Bastet> "It is...something alright. A necessity that I frankly might not need anymore"
  191. [01:03] <Cornelia_> "I don't blame you. I wouldn't trust that with my suspended, sleeping self. Maybe that's just me though."
  192. [01:04] <Astrea__Bastet> "No you have every right to be concerned, overdosing on it can cause some rather odd effects. Although lack of it can equally cause problems."
  193. [01:04] <Cornelia_> "You're suspended it in at night. How do you not overdose on a daily basis?"
  194. [01:08] <Astrea__Bastet> "Very carefully, although it might be better than lack of it which can cause severe increases in violent tenancies, psychotic tenancies and other effects. I've done a lot of studies on it since if I become empress I want to find a way to help overcome our need for it."
  195. [01:08] <Astrea__Bastet> "Some theories say that we only developed a need for sopor to counteract the effects of some lusus, however I have not found enough evidence on this matter"
  196. [01:11] <Cornelia_> "I think some more refinement could go into the sopor. You have an entire race of people who, on a incredibly regular basis, sleep within a drug filled substance that causes serious bipolar style symptoms. Even if it is to suppress the horrors of the night, I have to ask if it is worth it in it's current trade off."
  197. [01:13] <Astrea__Bastet> "I would say in it's current usage, no. I would rather we get off of it or find a way to root out the base cause perhaps with medicine that can be take on a daily basis rather than slept upon."
